*சிந்திக்கும், திசைக்கும், தேறும், கை கூப்பும்*‘ எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமந் நாராயணனையே  சதா சர்வகாலமும் நினைத்து கை கூப்பி வணங்கும் பக்தர்கள் -

 

A  Srivaishnavaite way of life is simple – Surrender unto the Lotus Feet of Sriman Narayana, do kainkaryam that pleases Emperuman and his bakths.

 

To many of us he concept of "Bhakti - surrender to God" represents a profound merging of spiritual devotion with material detachment, where a devotee offers their highest material assets (gold/wealth) to the Divine as an act of absolute surrender (sharanagati)  -  not exactly !!! 

In Sri Vaishnavism, Saranagati (or Prapatti) is the core principle of complete, unconditional surrender to Lord Narayana (Vishnu) and His consort Lakshmi, recognizing them as the sole refuge for attaining liberation (Moksha). It involves a deep commitment to God's will, abandoning ego, and relying solely on divine grace, often through specific practices like Anukulyasya Sankalpa (accepting the favorable) and Atma-nikshepa (self-offering), leading to spiritual freedom. 

The Bhagavad-gita (18.66) concludes by calling upon us to surrender to Krishna. To some of us, the word “surrender” may conjure images of a defeated military general reluctantly and resentfully giving up a lost fight. The Gita’s  teaching of the concept of  surrender is totally different: it connotes a voluntary offering of our heart’s love to Krishna expressed by harmonizing our human will with his divine will. 

How do we surrender to Krishna as we fight our many battles in the course of daily life? Do we quit those battles or do we keep fighting? The essence of surrender is to do Krishna’s will. That may sometimes require persevering in a battle and sometimes require putting aside a battle. What we do specifically is not as important as the consciousness in which we do it. When we surrender to Krishna, we hand our will to him and ask him to use us as he sees fit. The resulting divine connection helps us see the situation from a higher perspective. With that raised consciousness, we discover in life's battles hidden opportunities to experience Krishna’s love for us and to express our love for him. Tapping those opportunities is the heart of surrender.

 

To put it simply -  “Accepting everything favourable to devotion to Krishna, rejecting everything unfavourable to devotion to Krishna, being confident that Krishna will grant His protection” 

பகவத்கீதையின் 10-வது அத்தியாயமான விபூதி யோகம், பகவான் கிருஷ்ணரின் அளவற்ற மகிமைகளையும், அவர் எல்லா உலகங்களுக்கும், உயிர்களுக்கும் எவ்வாறு ஆதாரம், தலைவன், படைப்பின் காரணம் என்பதை விளக்குகிறது; அர்ஜுனனின் பக்தியை அதிகரிக்க, கிருஷ்ணர் தனது दिव्य manifestations (விபூதிகள்) பற்றி விரிவாகக் கூறி, அவரே அனைத்துக்கும் மூலம், அவரே அனைத்திலும் நிறைந்திருப்பவர், அவரே சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ளவர் என்பதை வெளிப்படுத்தும் அத்தியாயம் இது. 

கடவுளே எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் பிறப்பிடம். அவரிடமிருந்தே எல்லாம் வெளிவரும். அவரே அழியா வீடு. அவரே அமரர்க்கும் முன்னோர். அவரே பிறப்பிலர். அவரே இறைவன்.  அன்புடன் என்னை வழிபடும் அன்னோர்க்கு யான் புத்தியோகம் அளிப்பேன். இதனால் என்னை யவர் எய்துவார்.

 

நீயே பரப்பிரம்மம், நீயே பரவீடு, தூய்மையனைத்தினுஞ் சிறப்புடைய தூய்மை நீ. நின்னையே ‘நித்திய புருஷ’னென்றும், ஆதிதேவனென்றும், பிறப்பிலானென்றும், இறைமைக் கடவுளென்றும், முழுமையாக நம்பி, அவன் தாள்களை பற்றி அவனிடம் சேர, அவனிடமே வேண்டுவோம்.
