ஏக காலத்தில் ஆயிரஞாயிறு உதித்தாற்போல் கண்கொண்டு காணவொண்ணாதபடி ஜ்வலியா நின்ற கிரீடத்தையுடையவனாய் மஹாநுபாவனான சக்கரவர்த்தித் திருமகன் எழுந்தருளியிருக்குமிடம் யாது?  திருவல்லிக்கேணி பிரம்மோத்சவத்தில் நான்காம் நாள் காலை சூர்யப்பிரபை.  மாலை சந்திரப்ரபை வாகனங்கள்.   சூரியனின் ஒளியைப் "பகலொளி' என்றும், சந்திரனிலிருந்து வரும் ஒளியை "நிலவொளி' என்றும் சங்க பாடல்களில் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

In the ongoing Chithirai  brahmothsavam of Sri Parthasarathi Perumal,  today 4.5.2026  is day 4 – and it is Surya Prabhai in the morning.

Compared with the billions of other stars in the Universe,  it  is remarkable.  It is infact  a ball of gas (92.1 percent hydrogen and 7.8 percent helium) held together by its own gravity. It is  4,500,000,000 years old!  That's a lot of zeroes. That’s four and a half billion.  Going by what others do, i.e., burning  for about nine or 10 billion years – it can be said tobe halfway through its life. So no worries, it still has about 5,000,000,000—five billion (500 crores !)—years to go.  It is the SUN.

சென்னையில் வெய்யில் -  சென்னையில் வெய்யில் - கோடை காலம் ஏப்ரல் - மே மாதங்களில் உக்கிரமாகவே இருக்கு,. இந்த வருஷமும் வெய்யில் தாளிக்கின்றது.  மிகவும் வெக்கையாக அதிகம் வேர்வை கொட்டுகிறது.  கோடை காலத்தில், சுட்டெரிக்கும் சூரியனை குறிக்க   நிறையவே சொற்கள் உள்ளன.  நாம்  அனுதினமும் கண்களாலே பார்த்து சேவிக்க வல்லவன் - சூரிய பகவான்.  சூரியனுக்கு, : ஆதவன், ஆதித்யன், கதிரவன், ஞாயிறு, பகலவன், கனலி,  வெய்யோன், பானு, சித்திரபானு, வெஞ்சுடரோன், செங்கதிரோன்,      திவாகரன்,  தினகரன், தினமணி, பரிதி, பாற்கரன்,   மித்திரன்,   அனலி,  அலரி,   பகலோன்,   கிரணமாலி, - - - என பற்பல  பெயர்கள் உண்டு.   ஞாயிறு என்றவுடன் நமக்கு வார விடுமுறையான கிழமை ஞாபகம் வரலாம்.  சூரியன்  என்பது கதிரவ அமைப்பின் மையத்தில் உள்ள விண்மீன் ஆகும்.   கதிரவ அமைப்பு (Solar System) அல்லது சூரிய மண்டலம் அல்லது சூரியக் குடும்பம் என்பது கதிரவனுக்கும் அதைச் சுற்றி வரும் பொருட்ளுக்கும் இடையே உள்ள ஈர்ப்புவிசைப் பிணைப்பால் உருவான ஒரு அமைப்பாகும். இது கதிரவனைச் சுற்றி வரும் எட்டுக் கோள்களையும், ஐந்து குறுங்கோள்களையும் உள்ளடக்கியது ஆகும் என்று உலகளாவிய வானியல் ஒன்றியம் வரையறுத்துள்ளது.

Science is very interesting !  - When those five billion years are up, the Sun will become a red giant. That means the Sun will get bigger and cooler at the same time. When that happens, it will be different than the Sun we know today. As a red giant, our Sun will become about 2,000 times brighter than it is now!   In what is being considered a particularly rare event, scientists are projecting that the Sun will be an unusually cool customer by the year 2050. Earth is bound to become a dry, scorched rock, as our sun becomes a red giant star. What’s more, as the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies collide, our sun and Earth (and the rest of our solar system) are expected to be hurled outward, away from the galactic center, to the outskirts of a new large galaxy created in the collision.

Science keeps throwing newer facts and changing facts !  -  the  source of potentially hazardous solar particles, released from the Sun at high speed during storms in its outer atmosphere, has been located for the first time by researchers at UCL and George Mason University, Virginia, USA.  These particles are highly charged and, if they reach Earth’s atmosphere, can potentially disrupt satellites and electronic infrastructure, as well as pose a radiation risk to astronauts and people in airplanes. In 1859, during what’s known as the Carrington Event, a large solar storm caused telegraphic systems across Europe and America to fail. With the modern world so reliant on electronic infrastructure, the potential for harm is much greater. To minimize the danger, scientists are seeking to understand how these streams of particles are produced so they can better predict when they might affect Earth. In the new study, published in Science Advances, researchers analyzed the composition of solar energetic particles heading towards Earth, and found they had the same “fingerprint” as plasma located low in the Sun’s corona, close to the middle region of the Sun’s atmosphere, the chromosphere.

சூரியன் தங்கமென பளபளக்கும் எண்ணிறந்த  கிரணங்களையுடையவன்  - அத்தகைய  ஆதித்யர்கள் ஆயிரம் பேர்  ஜ்வலித்தாற்போல்  நீண்ட திருவபிஷேகத்தை உடையவனுமான  இராமபிரான்  எழுந்தருளியிருக்குமிடத்தை  தேடுகிறீர்களாகில்; அவ்வெம்பெருமானை  நினைத்து, உருகி, பணி செய்ய விருப்பம் உள்ளோர்க்கு,  அவ்விடத்தை சொல்லுகின்றேன் .. .. கல் கல் என்று அதிரும் வீரக்கழலையும் போர்செய்யப் பதைக்கிற தோள்களையுமுடைய ஹிரண்யாஸுரனுடைய மார்பை நரஸிம்ஹருபியாய்க்கொண்டு, பிளந்து, அதனாலுண்டான  ரத்தத்தை அளைந்த கைகளோடு கூடி இருந்தானை, அத்தகைய சீற்றந்தோற்றத்துடன்  எழுந்தருளியிருந்த நிலைமையில் - அவ்வெம்பெருமானை உள்ளபடி  ஸேவித்தவர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர்.  இந்த அவதாரங்களையெல்லாம் எடுத்த நம் ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன், பாற்கடலில் துயிலும் அவன்,  பக்தர்களை காக்க திருவவதாரங்கள் எடுத்தும்,  அர்ச்சை மூர்த்தியாக, திவ்யதேசங்களிலும் நமக்காக சேவை சாதிக்கிறான்.  அந்த பரிபூர்ண எம்பெருமான் இன்று திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் - ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதியாக   சூர்ய பிரபையில் சேவை சாதித்தான்.

Humans have been endlessly fascinated and yet puzzled by the mysterious seasonal emergence and disappearance of birds. Birds are very interesting and affable.  Though one may see some nests, how birds sleep, how do they get their food, how they raise their family, how do they live and stave off their predators are all mysterious.  Birds migrate across continents.  Bird migration is the regular seasonal movement, often north and south along a flyway, between breeding and wintering grounds. Many species of bird migrate. Migration carries high costs in predation and mortality, including from hunting by humans, and is driven primarily by availability of food.   

Migration of species such as storks, turtle doves, and swallows was recorded as many as 3,000 years ago by Ancient Greek authors, including Homer and Aristotle, and in the Book of Job. More recently, Johannes Leche began recording dates of arrivals of spring migrants in Finland in 1749, and modern scientific studies have used techniques including bird ringing and satellite tracking to trace migrants. Threats to migratory birds have grown with habitat destruction especially of stopover and wintering sites, as well as structures such as power lines and wind farms. 

Away, the  world’s oldest known wild bird, a Laysan albatross named Wisdom,  a female Laysan albatross (mōlī)   is at least 75 years old as of 2025. Bandedin Dec 1956, by Chandler Robbins reared what is known to be at least her 40th chick in 2021. The bird hatched the baby on the Midway Atoll in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean. The feat aroused interest in the minds of researchers as it has stretched the boundaries of human knowledge of how birds live.  The  septuagenarian seabird has been raising chicks with her mate, named Akeakamai, since at least 2010. Laysan albatross are typically believed to partner up for life, but given Wisdom’s longevity, she had to find several new companions after she outlived her former mates.   

On  third day of   Special Brahmothsavam of Sri Parthasarathi   Emperuman this day (3.5.2026) – it is Garuda vahanam in the morning and  ‘Hamsa Vahanam’ in the evening.  The Thiruvallikkeni Hamsa vahanam is one of the heaviest among the vahanams.  The bird Hamsa  is known for its purity and powers.  Thirumangai Mannan in his ‘Thirunedunthandagam’ draws a reference to the Hamsa bird.  

Milk is a nutrient-rich, white liquid food produced by the mammary glands of mammals. It is the primary source of nutrition for infant mammals. Early-lactation milk contains colostrum, which carries the mother's antibodies to its young and can reduce the risk of many diseases. It contains many other nutrients  including protein and lactose.  As an agricultural product, dairy milk, is extracted from farm animals.   Human  milk consumption has played a key role in global economic and agricultural developments for over 10,000 years. Given its popularity, cow's milk has been the subject of numerous scientific studies in recent history.  Today with an annual production of 187.75 million tonnes (as per 2018-19 data) India accounts for about 22% of the world’s milk production. India’s journey from a milk deficit country to one of surplus has been momentous. Initiated in 1970, Operation Flood was arguably the world’s most ambitious dairy development programme that transformed India into one of the largest milk producers. India’s milk production rate in the past few decades has, in many ways, been symbolic of the upward trajectory of the country’s economy and influence.  

A lamellae  in cell biology, is used to describe numerous plate or concentric layers or disc-like structures at both a intra-cellular, cellular, tissue and higher level. Granums in chloroplast are interconnected by intergranal lamellae. They are the sites of photosystem I. Simply put, lamellae may be considered as multiple parallel or concentric layers of membranes as in chlorophyll  -  relevance here ?!?  

The hamsa ( हंस)  is an aquatic bird of passage, which  in modern parlance has been  interpreted as the goose, the swan,  or even the flamingo.   In Greek mythology, Zeus king of the Olympian gods takes the form of a swan to seduce a beautiful princess Leda.  In Irish mythology it was said that swans which flew in the sky by day were actually beautiful women at night. They would remove their swan suits and bathe in forest ponds. The Hamsa, vahanam  of Lord Saraswathi  is a familiar leitmotif in Indian art, literature, sculpture and textiles. It is an aquatic bird that resembles a goose or a swan. It is reputed to eat pearls and to be able to separate milk from water and drink only pure milk.  The Hamsa represents the perfect  harmony between spirituality and life.  Hamsam is attributed qualities of  purity, detachment, divine knowledge, cosmic breath (prana) and highest spiritual accomplishment.  

Water birds separate good water from the bad water. They have a sieve like structure (lamellae) in its mouth which separates water from mud. Probably this is what leads to the belief that Swans can separate milk from water and drink only milk, or perhaps they really can. An aggressive lion named Caesar escapes from a traveling circus owned and managed by Nick Coster, but is cornered in a grocery store by clerk Matt Varney. Seeing that Matt has become an instant celebrity with the town's residents, Nick hires the farm boy to work with his current lion tamer, Hoffman the Great. Nick finds Hoffman drunk and passed out before he is to perform, so Nick convinces Matt to take Hoffman's place. When Matt does well, Nick fires Hoffman (and keeps his lions, as he owes Nick a lot of money). 

After their fight, Nick plans to have Matt killed in the lion cage. He convinces Matt to perform with Caesar in order to build his reputation as a lion tamer. He then gives Matt an unloaded lion tamer's gun. As Matt is in the cage, Flo and Mary arrive at the circus. Matt uses his skills against Caesar, but is fighting a losing battle, as the unloaded gun has no effect in scaring the lion. Nick is persuaded by Mary to go into the cage to rescue Matt. He distracts the lion away from Matt, but is subsequently attacked and killed by the lion.

 

 The lion (Panthera leo) is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera and a member of the family Felidae.   For all of their roaring, growling, and ferociousness, lions are family animals and truly social – however, from time immemorial they are known for their strength and power.    The powerfully built Lion,  belong to  cat family Felidae !  Lions are most active at night and live in a variety of habitats.  They usually live in groups of 15 or more animals called prides. Prides can be as small as 3 or as big as 40 animals. In a pride, lions hunt prey, raise cubs, and defend their territory together.  

 

Jaimini was an ancient Indian scholar who founded the Mīmāṃsā school of Hindu philosophy. He is the son of Parāśara and is considered to be a disciple of sage Vyasa. Traditionally attributed to be the author of the Mimamsa Sutras and the Jaimini Sutras, his school is considered non-theistic,  but emphasizes ritual parts of the Vedas as essential to dharma.  Jaimini is known for his studies of the older Vedic rituals.  

When Disney’s “The Lion King” opened on Broadway, it took everybody’s breath away.  The son of the “King” Mufasa, Simba is a mischievous young lion until his father is killed in a terrible stampede, secretly caused by Mufasa’s scheming brother Scar. Believing his father’s death to be his fault, Simba flees for a carefree existence living with meerkat Timon and warthog Pumbaa, but finds himself called back to his destiny when Scar’s rule turns sour.   

Away,  more than a century ago, African lions terrorized a railroad-construction project in Tsavo, Kenya,  killing and eating 35 workers. But how and why the big cats became “man-eaters” is still a matter of scientific debate.  Now the debate is on thousands of lions  being bred on farms in South Africa and then killed by rich trophy hunters, a shocking report has revealed. It also found that other big cats are being butchered and used for 'medicines' after being sold to buyers in the Far East. 

Historically, lions were "tamed" by humans for status, religion, and entertainment.  Rulers in ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Persia kept lions as symbols of royal power. The famous Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II supposedly kept a pet lion on the battlefield.  In the 18th and 19th centuries, modern lion taming began in traveling menageries. Early trainers like Isaac A. Van Amburgh utilized brutal methods, positive reinforcement through food, and sheer intimidation to force lions into submission for live performances.  Today, true "lion taming" is mostly practiced by wildlife conservationists and sanctuary workers. Rather than dominating the animal, these handlers integrate themselves into the lion's social structure.   

Taming a lion or hunting it is considered a virtue all along.  Lion represents power and domineering it – humans considers valorous.  At Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam, in the ongoing  special Brahmothsavamn of Sri Parthasarathi Emperuman, today it was Simha vahanam.  

நமது புண்ணிய பூமிக்கு  " பாரதம்"  எனும் பெயர் ஏற்படக் காரணமானவன் இந்தியாவின் முதல் சக்ரவர்த்தியான பரதன்.  இந்தப் பரதன் சிங்கத்துடன் விளையாடுவான் ஆதலால்  அவனுக்கு சர்வதமனன் என்ற பெயரும் உண்டு. பாரதியார் தமது தேசிய கீதங்களில்  ** சகுந்தலை பெற்றதோர் பிள்ளை சிங்கத்தினைத் தட்டி விளையாடி – நன்று உகந்ததோர் பிள்ளைமுன் பாரதராணி, ஒளியுறப் பெற்ற பிள்ளை*  என உயர்வு படுத்தி பாடி உள்ளார் . தமிழில் ஆண்சிங்கத்தை அரிமா அல்லது ஏறு என்று கூறுவது வழக்கம்.  சிங்கம் மிகவும்  பலம் பொருந்தியது.  

வியாஸ பாரதம் –   வேத வியாசரே தொகுத்து இயற்றிய பெரும் காவியம்; இதுவே மகாபாரதம் என்று பொதுவாக அழைக்கப்படும் முழு நூலின் மூல வடிவம்.  ஜைமினி பாரதம் என்று ஒன்று உளது.   ஜைமினி ரிஷியால் (வியாசரின் சீடர்) கூறப்படும் ஒரு உபாக்கியானம். ஜைமினி பாரதம்   மகாபாரதப் போர்க்களத்தின் நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும்; குறிப்பாக போர்க்களத்தில் நிகழ்ந்த புராணிகக் கதைகள், தேவதைகள், புண்ணிய பட்சம், பாவ பட்சம் ஆகியவற்றை விரித்துக் கூறும் உபாக்கியான நூல். உபாக்கியானம் / பாகம்: ஒரு நிகழ்வை விரித்து, அதில் உள்ள ஆன்மீக‑நீதிக் கேள்விகளை ஆராய்வது.

ஜைமினி, வியாசரின் சீடர், மீமாம்ச சம்பிரதாயத்தின் நிறுவனராகக் கருதப்படும் ரிஷி. மகாபாரதக் கதை குறித்து அவருக்கு ஐயங்கள் இருந்ததாகவும், அந்த ஐயங்‌களை சீரமைக்க நான்கு பறவைகள்  மூலம் போர்க்களம் குறித்து விரிவாகக் கேட்டதாக ஒரு நம்பிக்கைச் செய்தி காணப்படுகிறது; இதையே “ஜைமினி பாரதம்”–க்கான முன்னுரையாகச் சிலர் முன்வைக்கின்றனர். தமிழில் இதன் பகுதிகள் கவிதை நடையில் மொழிபெயர்த்தும், பேச்சு நடையில் சுருக்கமாக வெளியிடப்பட்டும் இருந்துள்ளன. இதே பெயரில் பேசப்படும் ஜைமினி ஜோதிடம் என்பது சம்ஸ்கிருத‑கர்நாடக மரபுப்படி வளர்ந்த தனிச்சிறப்பு ஜோதிட முறை; இது காரக, கர்ம ஸ்தானம், பதா லக்கினம் போன்ற பாரம்பரிய ரீதியை மேலதிகமாக விரிவாக்குகிறது.

ஜைமினி பாரதத்தில் புகழப்படும்  பரதன்  மகாபாரத வம்சத்தின் முன்னோடி மன்னன்;  துஷ்யந்தன்–சகுந்தலை காதல், கந்தர்வ திருமணம், தனியாக வளர்ந்த குழந்தை பரதன் என்ற மூன்று அடுக்குகளில் இவரது கதை அமைந்துள்ளது.  தனது குழந்தை பருவத்தில் ராஜகுமாரன் என்ற செய்தியின்றி, தபசிக் காட்டு வாழ்க்கையில் வளரும் குழந்தையாக இருக்கிறான். பின்னர் துஷ்யந்தனுக்கு நினைவு திரும்பி, அவன் சொந்த குழந்தை பரதன் இருப்பது தெரியவர,  பரதனை  அரண்மனைக்கு அழைத்துவரச் செய்து, அரச வம்சத்தின் தொடர்ச்சியாக ஆண்டு அவன் பெயராலேயே நாட்டிற்கு பாரதவர்ஷம் என்ற பெயர் வருவதாக புராண பாரம்பரியம் கூறுகிறது.  “ஜைமினி பாரதத்தில் பரதன் எனும் இளவரசன்  சிங்கத்தோடு விளயாடும் உவமை- தர்ம பலம், குல பெருமை, சிங்கத்தின் தைரியம் என்ற மூன்றை ஒரே குறியீடாகச் சொல்லும் ஒரு விருக்க காட்சியாக அமைந்திருந்தது.

**“சகுந்தலை பெற்றதோர் பிள்ளை   சிங்கத்தினைத் தட்டி விளையாடி…”**

  ஜைமினி பாரதம் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் “அசுமேர் ஜைமினி” உபாக்கியானப் பாரதவரலாற்றில் வரும் ஒரு பிரபலமான தமிழ் வரி.      துஷ்யந்தன்–சகுந்தலை மகனான பரதன்  ஹஸ்திநாபுர வம்சத்தின் முதல் பெரிய மன்னன். பல நாடுகளை ஒருங்கிணைத்து ஆண்டதாக புராண‑மகாபாரத பாரம்பரியம் கூறுகிறது; இதனால் “சக்கரவர்த்தி” = சக்ரம் தரித்து, பல நாடுகளை ஒரே அதிகாரத்தில் வைத்தவன் என்ற பெயர் அவனுக்குப் பொருந்துகிறது. அவன் பெயராலேயே  “பாரதம்” என்ற பெயர் நில வம்சத்திற்கு வந்தது. “பரதன் ஆண்ட நாடு = பாரதம்”   

சமண பாரம்பரியத்தில் “பரத சக்கரவர்த்தி” -  ரிசபநாதரின் மகன் பரதன், அந்த காலச் சுழற்சியின் முதல் சக்கரவர்த்தி (“அகிலத்தின் பேரரசர்”) என்று வருகிறான். இவன் தீர்த்தங்கரரின் மூத்த மகனாக, முதல் சாம்பிராஜ்ய அரசனாக குறிக்கப்படுகிறான்; இதனாலும் “பரத சக்கரவர்த்தி” என்ற பெயர் இருந்துள்ளதாம்.

In the evening of day 2 [2.5.2026]   at Thiruvallikkeni, it was the majestic Simha [lion] as vahanam.  The most beautiful, powerful,  gracious Sri Parthasarathi Emperuman   had purappadu atop ‘simham’ and gave darshan to devotees.   

 

சிறந்தார்க்கு  எழுதுணை ஆம் செங்கண்மால் நாமம்*,

மறந்தாரை மானிடமா வையேன்*, அறம்தாங்கும்

மாதவனேயென்னும் மனம்படைத்து* மற்றவன்பேர்

ஓதுவதே  நாவினாலுள்ளு.

 

பூதத்தாழ்வாரின் அற்புதமான போதனை :  நெஞ்சமே! செந்தாமரைக் கண்ணனான பெருமானுடைய திருநாமத்தை நாவினால் ஓதுவதே       ப்ராப்தமென்று அநுஸந்தித்திரு.  

BoothathAzhwaar says ~ to those enlightened ones, Lord Sriman Narayana with red lotus eyes is the most excellent companion.  Those who forget His names are not worthy of their names;  one should very firmly believe that the bearer of Dharma, Madhava is supreme and habituate oneself to chanting His name all the time.

Post Script : 

¹⁾       The plot in initial para is of 1941 American movie -  The Wagons Roll at Night is directed by Ray Enright and starring Humphrey Bogart as traveling carnival owner Nick Coster, Sylvia Sidney as his girlfriend. The film was based on the 1936 novel Kid Galahad by Francis Wallace, first published as a serial in The Saturday Evening Post.

2)    Suresh Biswas (1861 –   1905) was an adventurer from India. He also gained high acclaim as a ringmaster, showing his prowess with big cats such as lions and tigers. He  is known  for his military exploits in the Battle of Niterói.  Suresh Chandra Biswas was born in 1861 in a Gaudiya Vaishnav middle class Mahishya family engaged mostly in agriculture to Girish Chandra Biswas, a government employee in Nathpur, Krishnaganj in Nadia district in Bengal Presidency.
