Genshin Impact fans
have plenty to look forward to with the proposed release of Version 5.2 on Nov 20, 2024. There
are four powerful weapons added in this update, with one being offered for
free, and it will depend on flagship events for the other three. These weapons would
redefine character builds, hosting great
potent effects and tailored bonuses both for signature users and flexible team
compositions.
One among them is :
‘Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage (5-Star
Bow)’ - tailored for Chasca, Anemo characters make good combinations with it,
to trigger Swirl reactions. Genshin Impact is a 2020 action role-playing video game. The game features an anime-style open world
environment and an action-based battle system using elemental magic and
character-switching. A free-to-play game monetized through gacha game
mechanics, Genshin Impact is updated regularly using the games as a service
model; it was originally released for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and Windows,
followed by PlayStation with an Xbox Series X/S version coming in
November 2024.
Genshin Impact
takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, home to seven nations, each of
which is tied to a different element and ruled by a different God (archon). The
story follows the Traveller, an interstellar adventurer who, at the start of
the game, is separated from their twin sibling after the two land in Teyvat.
Thereafter, the Traveller journeys across the nations of Teyvat in search of
the lost sibling, accompanied by their guide, Paimon. Along the way, the two
befriend myriad individuals, become involved in the affairs of its nations, and
begin to unravel the mysteries of the land.

Physical appearance is the
main way most birders identify different bird species, and understanding the
differences between bird plumages is critical for proper identification. Plumage maturation in many birds is an important clue to
temporal patterns in their complex social system.
Plumage, is the
collective feathered covering of a bird. It
provides protection, insulation, and adornment and also helps streamline and
soften body contours, reducing friction in air and water.
Of the many, Breeding
plumage, is the most brilliant, colorful plumage for many bird species,
and it is displayed during the courtship season when birds are trying to
attract mates. It is most often the males that develop bold breeding plumage,
and these feathers may involve extraordinary colors or unusual shapes such as
long streamers.
Plumage (from Latin pluma
'feather') is a layer of feathers that covers a bird and the pattern, colour,
and arrangement of those feathers. The pattern and colours of plumage differ
between species and subspecies and may vary with age classes. Within species,
there can be different colour morphs. The placement of feathers on a bird is
not haphazard but rather emerges in organized, overlapping rows and groups, and
these feather tracts are known by standardized names.

went on a pilgrimage covering 5 beautiful Temples – darshan at these places was
soul-satisfying and made me feel very happy !
.. .. every morning in various social media, I write about my trips !;
my observations !; my photos !; my feelings! My learnings ! – and more of ME !!
- and as I post on social media, I receive more than my share from
others too .. a friend of mine had been sending some posts calling for
participation in kainkaryam and today suddenly felt that one should be
appreciating people like him more and partaking in the various activities that
he has been undertaking ..
How many villages do we visit, do we go to lesser
known temples, or for that matter Temples which in the past hogged all glory,
but now is uncared for ! – would we put up couple of bricks or lit an oil-lamp
in thousands of such temples – thoughts, guilt and more haunt me !

We are in the state of extreme Bliss ! - the adjective ‘blissful’
would mean - Extremely happy; full of joy; experiencing, indicating,

Srivaishnavaites are extremely blissful as alongside Deepavali festival comes

marks the birth celebrations of our Matchless AcaryaSwami Manavala Mamunigal.
From today 30.10.2021 starts the glorious 10 day celebrations –
Deepavali is on day 6 of the Uthsavam 4.11.2021; Annakkoda uthsavam, the next
day and Sarrumurai celebrations (Aippaisi Thirumulam) on Monday, 8.11.2021.
Devotees
may bleed in their heart to see Emperuman Lord Srinivasa in such a position in
a remote village !
For a Srivaishnavaite, Kainkaryam is essential; Selfless and
unconditional “kainkaryam i.e., service to Lord” cleanses the soul of the
performer. One must adore and be attached to their Acharyan and only the
direction of Acharyar will lift us from all earthly evils.
Have read a book called ‘Ego is the Enemy’ – wherein there is compelling
argument on why ego hurts us, and also shares some practical suggestions about
how we can manage our ego. Most of us
would admit having been a victim of ego in the past. Perhaps we have also observed others (close
friends, relatives and colleagues) who
have made poor decisions, or have generally been unhappy, because of their ego.
So this thought strongly resonates with me.
Pride and Ego – think about their incredible power. But gone wrong, what
might they have cost and lost you? Many
a times, we have allowed inflated ego’s
and pride that has simply “gone too far” becoming destructive forces! – killing energies,
countless relationships, opportunities and initiatives of greater value. All
that we have allowed stubbornness to
over-rule common sense. Being stubborn
on principle is welcome but not overreliance on self !!
Life at
Thiruvallikkeni offers chance to mingle with scores of people who are
selflessly doing kainkaryam to Emperuman in various forms [be it Arulicheyal,
Sreepadham, or many many forms in direct service to Emperuman and more to those
serving Him] and various other community service, social service and more. This person is less than 40, works in an IT
company, married, has kids and has every
other distraction that all of us have !.. .. have been watching his transformation – at the time of doing
Sreepadham kainkaryam, he was into various activities like cleaning the tank,
helping others – now he has been transforming various things and touching the
lives of people. He conducts Ramanuja yatras too !
This gentleman Srikanth Pakshimannar is really doing exceptionally appreciable kainkaryam, visiting
various villages, spreading noble thoughts, and bakthi cult and taking care of
temples hitherto standing uncared for. In doing kainkaryam purposefully and in a
structured manner, he has created a trust - Sri Ramanujarya Divyagnya Seva
Trust- in case you felt moved by the ruins and present looks of this temple –
We may join Srikanth in renovating this temple, brick by brick and putting up
first a shelter for Emperuman.
Srikkanth and others in
kainkaryam during Deepavali purappadu earlier !
Chola dynasty ruled our land well and for long. The
heartland of the Cholas was the fertile valley of the Kaveri River. The Cholas left a lasting legacy. Their
patronage of Tamil literature and their zeal in the building of temples has
resulted in some great works of Tamil literature and architecture. The Chola
kings were avid builders and envisioned the temples in their kingdoms not only
as places of worship but also as centres of economic activity. The Chola period
is also remarkable for its sculptures and bronzes. One such temple exists in Sripuranthan too.
Away from the complex
cities is Sripuranthan, a dusty village in the Ariyalur district of Tamil
Nadu. It is around 250 kms away from Chennai. There will be muddy
path winding across parched lands, scraggy cattle, suddenly enthused village
elders, frolicking children – old Temple – all signs of any village scene of
South India. ~ and this village was in global news – the Lord of
Cosmic Dance (Nataraja) from this
village travelled thousands of kilometers smuggled from out his pedestal to the
National Gallery of Art Canberra, Australia – by unscrupulous idol dealer
Subhash Kapoor, reportedly bought by NGA for Rs.31 crore in 2008.
Subhash Kapoor is not alone nor or idols from Temple ..... in that maze of
network some missing Gods have landed up in foreign lands at private
collections and art galleries. Fortunately, this Nataraja idol was recovered from Australia.
Sadly there are more
sordid stories – there is another temple of Lord Srinivasa, Venkateswarar –
Moolavar idol in standing posture – temple not even in a dilapidated condition,
sort of non-existent; Uthsavar idols perhaps stolen languishing elsewhere. Our
friend is now on a project to construct a small temple a la shelter / roof over
Emperuman idol. Seeing the Moolavar,
the temple perhaps has antiquity of few centuries, the least !!
His
communiqué says it would required around 300 blocks + 30 sacks of cement + one
truck load of Msand; wall flooring and plastering work with 5 day 3 men labour
– electrical wiring and all put together less than 1 lakh! – sounds incredibly
simple and more importantly participation in kainkaryam at a lesser known place.
Here are details of the trust : -
Sri Ramanujarya Divyagnya Seva Trust
SBI, Wallajah Road Branch, Triplicane, Chennai 600005.
Elders say that we do not own, but are custodians of wealth
bestowed by Emperuman – perhaps if few of us could contribute little and
channelize them through Sri Pakshimannar Srikanth, sooner there would be a
Temple – not only here we can support glorious kainkaryabarargal like Srikanth
engaged in preserving our rich heritage and culture. One gets more astonished and
over-awed to know that since past few years, he has been running a small Ashram
at Thirumandangudi (Thondaradipodi azhwar avathara sthalam) a facility where
yatrikas can stay and providing daily breakfast to around 30 school children
and offering Prasad daily at Mamunigal thiruvarasu at Thiruvarangam.
Pranams to all those involved in kainkaryam in every form and
appreciations to my friend Pakshimannar Srikanth, who now lives in Peyalwar Koil
Street, Thiruvallikkeni and fanning out to many places for kainkaryam

Hoysala
Empire was a prominent Southern Indian
Kannadiga empire that ruled most of the modern-day state of Karnataka between
the 10th and 14th centuries. The capital of the Hoysalas was
initially located at Belur but was later moved to Halebidu. In the 12th century,
they expanded to areas of
present-day Karnataka and the fertile areas north of the Kaveri River delta in
present-day Tamil Nadu. By the 13th century, they governed most of present-day
Karnataka, minor parts of Tamil Nadu and parts of western Andhra Pradesh and
Telangana in Deccan India. The Hoysala era was an important period in the
development of art, architecture, and religion in South India. The empire is
remembered today primarily for its temple architecture. Over a hundred
surviving temples are scattered across Karnataka.
Well known temples
"which exhibit an amazing display of sculptural exuberance" include
the Chennakesava Temple at Belur, the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebidu, and the
Kesava Temple at Somanathapura. The
Hoysala rulers also patronised the fine arts, encouraging literature to
flourish in Kannada and Sanskrit. Their style of architecture is appreciated by
all. Temples built prior to Hoysala
independence in the mid-12th century reflect significant Western Chalukya
influences, while later temples retain some features salient to Chalukyan art
but have additional inventive decoration and ornamentation, features unique to
Hoysala artisans.
The
Chennakeshava Temple, also referred to as Keshava, or Vijayanarayana Temple of Belur, is a 12th
century Hindu temple in the Hassan district of Karnataka state. It was commissioned by King Vishnuvardhana in
1117 CE, on the banks of the Yagachi River in Belur also called Velapura, an
early Hoysala Empire capital. The temple was built over three generations and
took 103 years to finish. Sadly, like many other great temples, this
temple too was repeatedly damaged and
plundered by marauding invaders during
wars, repeatedly rebuilt and repaired over its history. It is 35 km from Hassan
city and about 200 km from Bengaluru.
Chennakesava
(lit, "handsome Kesava") is a form of Sriman Narayana. It is reverentially described in medieval
Hindu texts, and remains an important pilgrimage site in Vaishnavism. The temple is remarkable for its architecture,
sculptures, reliefs, friezes as well its iconography, inscriptions and history.
The temple artwork depicts scenes of life in the 12th century, dancers and
musicians, as well as a pictorial narration of our Ithihasa puranas - Ramayana,
the Mahabharata and the Puranas through numerous friezes. The Chennakeshava
temple is a testimony to the artistic, cultural and theological perspectives in
12th century South India and the Hoysala Empire rule.
Very rare Hoysala
Architect with beautifully carved Channakeshava idol found while sand mining
near Halebelur village of Sakleshpur taluk on Thursday. The 4.5ft black stone
idol belonging to the Hoysala Dynasty is almost similar to Lord Channakeshava
at Belur temple. The idol has minor
damages at the right side.
Interestingly the
driver of the earth moving machine was anxious and took to the heels
immediately after he saw the Idol. The
matter spread like a wildfire among villagers who rushed to the spot and
removed the same safely. Later they
brought it and installed it in front of the temple in the village. The people
have started offering pooja for the idol.
Tahsildar HB
Jayaraj, PSI Basavaraj, Halebelur GP president Kumar have visited the spot and
gathered further details in this regard. Sidegowda a village head opined that
Channakeshava Temple also constructed in Halebelur during Hoysala dynasty. Ancient Channakeshava idol was installed
inside the temple. The sculptures might have rejected the newly found idol as
it desecrated while carving he added. Expressing happiness the villagers also
urged the officials of the Archeology department to give permission to keep the
idol inside the temple. The villagers
also urged the officials of the Archeological department to further research
and extract the right reason for buring the idol on the banks of Hemavathi
River.
Jairaj Tahsildar
Sakleshpur said that the newly found Channakeshava idol is belonging to the
Hoysala dynasty as it has Hoysala architecture and carving. The taluk authority
has submitted the detail report to the deputy commissioner R Girish who will
take a decision in this regard he added

Nagapattinam
is a renowned town that was prominent during the period of Medieval Cholas
(9th–12th century CE) and served as their important port for commerce and
east-bound naval expeditions. The Chudamani Vihara in Nagapattinam constructed
by the Srivijayan king Sri Mara Vijayattungavarman of the Sailendra dynasty
with the help of Rajaraja Chola I was an important Buddhist structure in those
times. Nagapattinam was settled by the
Portuguese and, later, the Dutch under whom it served as the capital of Dutch
Coromandel from 1660 to 1781. In 1781, the town was conquered by the British
East India Company. It served as the capital of Tanjore district but later became a district.
AT
Nagapattinam, is the famous divyadesam Sri Soundararajaperumal Temple glorified in the Divya Prabandham. The
uthsavar is most beautiful Nagai Azhagiyar - Soundararaja Perumal and his
consort Lakshmi as Soundaravalli. This
is no post on the divyadesam but on an otherwise obscure village called
Ananthamangalam.

Really happy in reading
the news of return of 3 beautiful idols of Sree Rama, Sita and Lakshmana, which were stolen from the Sri
Rajagopalaswamy temple in Ananthamangalam, Nagapatnam, Tamil Nadu in 1978. Reports state that these idols were handed over to the High Commission of
India (HCI) in London at a function on Tuesday. The idols were in the
possession of an art dealer. The idols dating back to the 15th century or
earlier were traced to London after the
idol wing CID reopened the case after several years. After three years of
search to match the idols with those with the dealer, a tip from a volunteer in
London helped them confirm the similarities of the Rama idol after which the
group informed the HCI.
The online event was
attended by Union minister of culture and tourism Prahlad Singh Patel, Tamil
Nadu chief secretary K Shanmugam, DGP J K Tripathy, ADGP, idol wing CID, Abhay
Kumar Singh and Co-Founder of India Pride project S Vijay Kumar. “The quest started four years ago when our
routine checks on web pages of dealers of Indian art threw up a rather
interesting profile of a UK dealer. BADA profile (British Antique Dealers
Association) web page showed a rather superlative example of a standing
Vijayanagara Bronze,” he said. He said that after three years of search to
match the idols with those with the dealer, a tip from a volunteer in London
helped them confirm the similarities of the Rama idol after which the group
informed the HCI.
After the strenuous
efforts by this group, the British police on Tuesday handed over to India
ancient idols as part of growing efforts
to return artefacts of India’s cultural heritage from across the world. The
handover ceremony at India House was attended by officials of the Metropolitan
Police and remotely by Union minister for culture and tourism Prahlad Singh
Patel from New Delhi, as well as officials in Chennai. The idols, being sent
back to Tamil Nadu, were stolen from a temple built in the Vijayanagar period
in the Nagapattinam district. They were voluntarily handed over to the police
by an unidentified UK-based collector when informed that they were stolen
property. Information from S Vijay Kumar of the India Pride Project helped
trace and identify the idols, officials said.
Prahlad Patel said that only 13 antique items were returned to India
between 1947 and 2014, but after that, more than 40 such antiquities have
returned home. “Efforts are also on to return one idol from the British
Museum”. Indian high commissioner Gaitri
Kumar called it an “auspicious day” and thanked the police for their efforts to
recover the idols. She recalled recent instances when idols stolen from India
were recovered and repatriated to India by the mission.
Detective chief inspector
of the Metropolitan Police Tim Wright said: “The Metropolitan Police are proud
to have been involved in the return of these Chola bronzes to India. Not only
are they beautiful and historically significant, they are of course of
religious importance, and therefore it is particularly gratifying that they are
to be returned to the temple from which they were taken”.
India Pride Project (IPP)
is a group of art enthusiasts who uses social media to identify stolen
religious artefacts from Indian temples and secure their return. Co-founded in
2014 by two Singapore-based art enthusiasts, S. Vijay Kumar and Anuraag Saxena,
it now has activists from all over the world.
Salute the efforts of people like Vijayakumar.
