Thirumylai Virupaksheeswarar

 

Off the smaller bylanes of Mylapore – there are many temples and .. .. this beautiful Sri Virupaksheeswarar temple.  Virupam means "Contradicting the Nature". Akshi means eyes. The Shivalinga possesses  third eye, which is contradictory to mother nature hence, Lord Shiva here,  is referred to as Virupaksheeswarar.
