celebating the birth of Rama Baktha Aanjaneya ~ Jai Hanuman !!

இன்று  மார்கழி அமாவாஸ்யையுடன் கூடிய மூல நக்ஷத்திரம் - இன்று பல இடங்களில்  ஸ்ரீஹனுமத் ஜெயந்தி கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

There is only one by name Sri Rama, born in the lineage of Ikshwaku.  He is totally balanced, one in complete control of His words, thoughts and deeds; a man of great valour ~ a person of steadfast character and radiant countenance – Lord Sree Rama* .  Today 2.1.2022 is   celebrated at Hanuman Jayanthi, the birthday of Lord Aanjaneya.  Hanumath Jayanthi is celebrated on various dates at various places.

Think about Hanuman,  what strikes immediately is his unparallelled devotion for Lord Rama and his unrivalled physical strength.  Hanumar, by various names Aanjaneyar, Chiranjeevi, Vayu Puthirar, Anjani Mainthan is associated with celibary, wrestling, physical power, intense concentration, mental toughness, single minded devotion and more.  Hanumar is remembered for his spirit of ‘selfless service’; and is believed to be present wherever, whenever there is recitation of the name of Lord Rama.  Hanumath Jayanthi is celebrated in various time of year in various places.   

"தக்கானை கடிகைத் தடங்குன்றின் மிசையிருந்த  அக்காரக்கனியை " என்பது - திருமங்கை மன்னன் சோளிங்கபுரம் எனும் கடிகை திருத்தலத்து மங்களாசாசனம்.   சப்தரிஷிகளும், வாமதேவர் என்னும் முனிவரும் பிரஹலாதனுக்காக பெருமாள் காட்டின நரசிம்ம அவதாரத்தைக் காண வேண்டுமென்ற ஆவலால்  இம்மலையில் வந்து தவமிருந்தனராம்.   முன்னொரு காலத்தில் விசுவாமித்திரர் இம்மலையில் ஒரு கடிகை நேரத்தில் (ஒரு நாழிகை நேரத்தில்) நரசிம்மனைக் குறித்து துதித்து பிரம்மரிஷி பட்டம் பெற்றாராம். எனவே கடிகை நேரத்தில் தாமும் நரசிம்ம மூர்த்தியைக் காணலாம் என்ற பேரவாவினால் இம்மலையைத் தெரிவு செய்து தவமிருந்தனர் முனிவர்கள்.  இந்த திவ்யதேசத்திலே, யோக நிலையில் அமர்ந்த (சங்கு சக்கரத்துடன்) ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கும் தனிச்சன்னதி உள்ளது. இப்பிரதான கீர்த்தி அனுமனுக்கு வேறெந்த திவ்ய தேசத்திலும் இல்லை. கலியுகம் முடியும் வரை அனுமனும் கலியுகத்திலேயே வாழ்வதாக ஐதீஹம். எனவே  பக்தி ரசத்தோடு இராமாயணம் படிக்கும் இடம்தோறும் அனுமன்   பிரத்யட்சம் ஆவதாய் ஐதீஹம்.

ஒருநாழிகை வேண்டினால் சகல யோகமும் அளிக்கும்  சோழசிம்மபுரம் - நம் தொட்டையாச்சார் அவதாரம் செய்த தலமும்  கூட.  அவரது பரம்பரையினரே  இத்திருக்கோயிலை அற்புதமாக பரிபாலித்து வருகின்றனர்.    இந்தத் தலத்தின் தீர்த்தம் தக்கான் குளம் என்றும் தக்கான் தீர்த்தம் என்றும் போற்றப்படுகிறது.    1350 படிகள் உயரமுள்ள கடிகாசலம் என்ற பெரிய மலைமீது மூலவரும் அதனருகில் உள்ள சிறிய மலையில் சங்கு சக்கரங்களுடன்  ஆஞ்சநேயரும் அமர்ந்துள்ளனர்.  தக்கான் குளக்கரையில் பெரிய அனுமார் காட்சி அளிக்கிறார்.

At Thiruvallikeni divyadesam, there is sannathi of Pavanaputhra  Hanumar right in front of Lord Rama and is on the way to the Moolavar Sri Venkatakrishnan sannathi.  This Aanjaneyar  has purappadu once in a year and hence rare to get his darshan on the thiruveethi and photograph him too.  Rarer still is the kulakkarai Anjaneyar.  The sannathi for siriya thiruvadi at East Tank Square St is attached to the Temple. In every purappadu, there would be sri sadagopam maryathai for Anjaneya too.   

The Telegu verses at the starts is :Pahi Rama thootha” – Thiyagayya keerthana in the kriti – rAga vasanta varALi.  Saint Thiyagarajar extols the might  of AnjanEya.   Tyagaraja composed songs on each of the four principal characters of the great Ithihasa purana  Ramayana. The hero Ramapiran  of course has numerous songs in his praise. Sita gets a few too. ‘Ma Janaki’ is well known. Not so often heard are ‘Sariyevvare Sri Janaki’ (Sriranjani), ‘Sri Janaka Tanaye’ (Kalakanti) and ‘Dehi Tava Pada Bhaktim’ (Sahana). Anjaneya is sung of in ‘Pahi Ramaduta’  and ‘Kaluguna Padaniraja’ apart from the oft-heard ‘Gitarthamu’ (Surati). Lakshmana is the central character in ‘Mitri Bhagyame’ (Kharaharapriya). Sabari is envied for her good fortune in ‘Entani Ne’ (Mukhari).

Though Hanumath Jayanthi is celebrated on various dates at various places, at Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam, it is celebrated on chathurthasi / Pournami  and would fall on 4^th day of Irapathu Uthsavam.
