Thiruchanoor Sri Sundara Raja Perumal Sesha vahanam 2017

திருமலை என்பது அற்புத திவ்யக்ஷேத்ரம்  - திருமலை என்றால் அது உயர்ந்த ஏழுமலை திருவேங்கடமுடையான், கீழ்திருப்பதி கோவிந்தராஜர் மற்றும் திருச்சானூர்  ஸ்ரீபத்மாவதி தாயார் திருக்கோயில்களை உள்ளடக்கும்.  நமது சம்ப்ரதாயத்திலே பிராட்டிக்கு அற்புத இடமுண்டு.  எம்பெருமானுடன் எப்போதும்கூடஇருப்பவர்; பக்தர்களுக்கு புருஷகாரமாக அனுக்கிரஹம் பண்ணுபவள்.   . 'அகலகில்லேன் இறையும் என்று"    பெரியபிராட்டியார் நித்தியவாசம் செய்கின்ற திருமார்பினை உடையவன்  திருவேங்கடமுடையான்.

Tirukkadavuru, Alarmel Mangapuram, Tirusukanur, Vadirajapuram, Tiruchhikkanur, Tiruchanur, Ammavaru thirukovil,  call it by any name, goddess Padmavathi is always at the behest of her beloved devotees.  The sacred pilgrim town of Tiruchanoor  is the abode of the “Lotus-born” goddess Padmavathi, who is also known by the name of Alarmel Mangai, and hence Alarmelmangapuram. 

Tiruchanur, abode of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi, the beloved consort of Lord Venkateswara  is one of the oldest pilgrim towns located 5km away from Tirupati;  less than 10 km from Renigunta Railway station.  According to purana  Goddess Mahalakshmi emerged on the golden lotus as Padmavathi Devi located at the centre of Padmasarovaram-the temple tank and is worshipped. 

Devotees worship Padmavathi thayar ammavaru before proceeding to Holy Thirumala.  Inside the temple, there are separate sannathies for Balarama Krishna and for Sri Sundara Raja swami – the moolavar dazzling as Lord Srinivasa Himself.  By some accounts the temple of Sundara Rajar dates backs to 1221 CE and stone inscriptions of 1541 & 1547 mention rathothsavam for this Emperuman.    There is also a temple dedicated to Suryanarayana opposite to the temple tank.   

Yearly there is purappadu for Sundara Rajar too and in 2017 had the fortune of darshan of Sri Sundararaja Perumal in Sesha vahanam.
