Swami Manavala Mamunigal Sesha vahanam 2023 - nowmi Sowmyavara Yogi pungavam ||

                   Triplicanites are ecstatic.  Today 7^th Nov 2023  is day 1 of Swami Manavala Mamunigal uthsavam; in 5 days time is Deepavali and 30^th  of Aippaisi ~ 16^th  Nov 2023 – is the exalted day ‘Aippaisiyil Thirumoolam’ ~ the day when our Acarya Swami Manavala Mamunigal’s thiruvavathram occurs.

 

There is the illustrious lineage of Purvacharyargal – the hierarchy of Srivaishnava preceptors – through whom the glorious traditions passed by in generations.  Its happy culmination with Namperumal Himself becoming disciple of Acarya Mamunigal redounds the wisdom of our holy lineage.  Swami Emperumanar (Sri Ramanujar) and Mamunigal – both were incarnation of Adisesha.  Born as Nayanar, Mamunigal was an ocean of knowledge, yet learnt at the feet of his erudite father and others – the way Sri Rama and Sri Krishna did, during their stay on earth – through courses under great sages of their times like Vasistha, Viswamitra, Sandeepani .. .. 

The whole Sri Vaishnava World is rejoicing at the very thought of sarrumurai celebrations of great Acaryar.   Getting back to our own place,  there have been rain forecasts – nothing unusual for Chennai, in this season.  Today, it was day 1 – and after Sri Periyazhwar thirumozhi rendering in the afternoon, evening at 0715 pm there was purappadu of Swami Manavala Mamunigal – in Sesha vahanam.  When it rains,  ordinary mortals would take  shelter – move  around carrying umbrellas, wearing rain coats and more – for the Supreme Lord, it is Adisesha who is the parasol. Adisesha in our Sampradhaya is fondly Ananthazhvan ~ he serves the Lord always - in His various avatars, Ananthazhwan accompanies Him in some form and continues his service.

 

Sri Erumbiappa in his thanian to Yathiraja Vimsati extols Acaryar :

Ya: sthuthim yathipathiprasAdaneem

vyAjahAra YathirAja vimsatheem |

Tham prapanna jana sadhakAmbhudham

nowmi Sowmyavara Yogi pungavam || 

"I offer my homage to Acarya Swami Manavala Mamunigal, who blessed us with this great work of  ‘Yathiraja vimsathi’ with the intention of pleasing the heart of our Udayavar Bashyakar Sri Ramanujar.  He is the one, who showered Prapannars with the nectar of sakala saasthra arthas, just as the rays of moon fully nourish the  Chataka  birds."  The thaniyan inclines that those who recite this work will have blessings of Emperumanar.  ‘Prapanna jana chatakam budam’ would mean Acarya Emperumanar is like the rainbearing cloud which provides lifeline of water for all including skylarks.  Yogi PUngava refers clearly to our Acarya Mamunigal 

The Lord once decided to depute Adisesha  to the world on a mission to reform men and women and remain there for 200 years. Adisehsa  spent 120 years as Sri Ramanuja, for the rest of the determined period (80 years) he was reborn as Swami Manavala Mamunigal. That our Acharyar Mamunigal  was a manifestation of Adisesha was proved in an incident when some jealous people set fire to his house but he slipped away to safety under certain compelling circumstances and to continue his task uninterrupted he took to ascetic order.

Aippaisi Punarvasu 2023 - இராமபிரானின் கோதண்டம் வில்

நீங்கள் காண்பது என்ன !? -  இராமபிரானின் கரங்களில் ஏந்திய கோதண்டம் எனும் வில்லின் தலை பாகம்.  சக்கரவர்த்தி திருமகனான எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீராமபிரான் எத்தகையன் ?  மிக சிறந்த வில் வீரன், முனிவர்களையும், யாகங்களையும், மக்களையும், தர்மத்தையும் ரக்ஷித்தவன்.  கடலை அம்பபெய்திப் பிரித்து மறுகரையை அடைந்து அரக்கர்களையும் இலங்கை வேந்தனையும் கொன்று தம்பிக்கு அரசு கொடுத்து சீதையோடு சிம்மாசனத்தில் அமர்ந்தவன். 

 

இன்று 4.11.2023  ஐப்பசி புனர்வசு.  திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்யதேசத்திலே மாச திருநக்ஷத்திர  புறப்பாடு எனினும் ஸ்ரீராமச்சந்திர மூர்த்தி அழகான திருவாபரணங்கள் - திருமார்பு பதக்கம், காசு மாலை, மகிழம் பூ, மல்லிகை, சம்பங்கி,  சாமந்தி, சிகப்பு விருட்சி என மலர்மாலைகள்  - இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் விட.. .. இராமனது திருக்கரங்களிலே அழகான மணிகள் கொண்ட கோதண்டம் எனும் வில்; மற்றோரு திருக்கரத்தில் அம்பு பாணம் !   சற்று கூர்ந்து நோக்கினால் அவரது வில்லின் குமிழ் யாளி போன்ற அமைப்பை கொண்டதையும் அங்கேயும் மணி உள்ளதையும் சேவிக்கலாம்.   

கம்ப இராமாயணத்தில் அயோத்திய காண்டத்தில் குகப்படலம்  - இராமபிரான் வனம் ஏகியதை அறிந்து பெரும் சினமுற்ற  பரதன்  கங்கைக் கரைக்குப் போய் சேர்ந்த போது,  அதன் தென்கரைக்கு வந்து நின்ற குகன், ”இராமபிரானோடு போர் செய்வதற்குத் தான் இந்தப் படை திரண்டு வந்திருக்கின்றது” என்று நினைத்து மிக்க   சினம்  கொள்கின்றான். குகனைப் பற்றி அமைச்சனாகிய சுமந்திரன் சொல்லக் கேட்ட பரதன், அவனைக் காண ஆவலோடு நெருங்கி வந்தான்.  மரவுரித்தரித்த நிலையில், இராமனிருக்கும் திசை நோக்கித் தொழுதவண்ணம் பரதன் வரக் கண்ட குகன், இராமனுக்குப் பின் பிறந்தார் பிழை செய்யார் எனக்கூறி படகில் ஏறி, பரதனின் அருகில் வந்து வணங்கினான். 

மை உறவு உயிர் எலாம் இறுதி வாங்குவான்

கை உறு கவர் அயில் பிடித்த காலன்தான்

ஐ ஐநூறாயிரம் உருவம் ஆயின

மெய் உறு தானையான் வில்லின் கல்வியான்.

 

மைஉற - தீமை உண்டாகுமாறு -   இறுதி  நாள்வந்த பொழுது உயிர்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் நீக்குகின்ற, கையிற் பொருந்தி முக்கிளையாகப் பிரியும் சூலத்தை ஏந்திய யமனே ஐந்து இலட்சம் வடிவம் எடுத்தாற் போன்ற வலிய உடம்புடைய  சேனையை உடையவன்;  வில்வித்தையில் மிக தேர்ந்தவன் என குகனையும் அவனது பலம் வாய்ந்த சேனையையும் கம்ப நாட்டாழ்வான் வர்ணிக்கிறான்.  பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான வில் வீரர்கள் இருந்தாலும், சிறந்த வில்வீரன் என்றால் அது நம் ஸ்ரீராமபிரான் மட்டுமே.

Heard of – Transhumance  !!  - it  is a type of pastoralism or nomadism, a seasonal movement of livestock between fixed summer and winter pastures. In montane regions, it implies movement between higher pastures in summer and lower valleys in winter. Herders have a permanent home, typically in valleys. Generally only the herds travel, with a certain number of people necessary to tend them, while the main population stays at the base.  

On 1 November 1944, a United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) F-13 Superfortress conducted the first flight by an Allied aircraft over the Tokyo region of Japan since the Doolittle Raid in April 1942. This photo reconnaissance sortie returned with 7000 photographs which helped with planning air raids on Japan during the last months of World War II. Attempts by Japanese air units and anti-aircraft gun batteries to shoot down the F-13 failed, as the available fighter aircraft and guns could not reach the high altitude at which it operated.  

Samhain  is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. It is also the Irish language name for November. Celebrations begin on the evening of 31 October, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset.   This is about halfway between the autumnal equinox and winter solstice.  It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals along with Imbolc, Bealtaine, and Lughnasa.   Sir James George Frazer wrote in his 1890 book, The Golden Bough: A Study in Magic and Religion, that 1 May and 1 November are of little importance to European crop-growers, but of great importance to herdsmen practising seasonal transhumance.  The significance for us is different !! 

Today the month of November is born !  - today is Mrigaseersham (star of Thirukachi Nambigal) – 15^th day of Aippaisi – the great month in which Muthalazhwargal, Pillai Logachar  and our Supreme Acaryan  Swami Manavala Mamunigal were born. 

From 7.11 starts the Uthsavam of our Acaryar and 16.11.2023 is ‘Aippaisi Moolam’ –the sarrumurai vaibhavam of Swami Manavala Mamunigal. This post has 3 photos – 1 of Acaryan at Thiruvallikkeni 2. ஐப்பசி ஓர் அற்புத மாசம் - ஐப்பசியில் திருமூலத்தன்று நம் உத்தம ஆசார்யன் சுவாமி மணவாள மாமுனிகள் அவதரித்தார்.  குரு பரம்பரையில் கடைசி ஆச்சார்யன் என்று போற்றப்படும் ஸ்ரீ மணவாள மாமுனிகள் பாண்டி நாட்டில் திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டம் சிக்கல் கிடாரம் என்ற இடத்தில் வாழ்ந்துவந்த திருநாவிரானுடைய பிரான் தாசரண்ணற்கும் ரங்க நாச்சியாருக்கும் திருக்குமாரராய் (கி.பி.1370) ஆழ்வார் திருநகரியில் ஐப்பசி திருமூலத் திருநாளில் அவதரித்தார். சகல சாஸ்திரங்களையும் கற்றறிந்த இவர், ஆழ்வார்களின் ஈரச் சொற்களாகிய திவ்ய பிரபந்தங்களுக்குரிய அர்த்த விசேஷங்களை காலட்சேபங்களாக உபதேசித்துவந்தார். இல்லறத்தைத் துறந்து, துறவறம் பூண்டு “மணவாள மாமுனிகள்” என்ற சிறப்பைப் பெற்ற இவர், சடகோப ஜீயர் சுவாமிகளிடம் சன்னியாசம் பெற்றார். 

திருவரங்கம் பெரிய கோயில் அரங்கனின் கைங்கர்யங்களில் முற்றிலுமாக ஈடுபட்ட இவர் வைணவத்தின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக நாடெங்கிலும் யாத்திரை செய்து, பல திவ்ய தேசங்களயும் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்து, வழிபாட்டு முறைகளை நெறிப்படுத்தி, நம் ஸம்ப்ரதாயத்தை பரப்பினார்.  இவரின் அற்புத காலட்சேபம் வார்த்தைகளை அதிசயித்து,  நம்பெருமாள் திருவரங்கனே இவரிடம் ஒரு வருட காலம் திருவாய்மொழிக்கான “ஈடு” முப்பத்தாறாயிரப்படியைக் காலட்சேபம் கேட்டாராம். மாமுனிகளையே தன்னுடைய ஆச்சார்யன் என்று சபையில் தானே தோன்றி அறிவித்து, . ஆச்சார்யனுக்குரிய தனிப் பாசுரத்தையும் சமர்ப்பித்து தன் பாம்பணையை இவருக்கு அளித்து கௌரவித்தார். 

ரஹஸ்ய கிரந்தங்களுக்கு உரை எழுதத் திருவுள்ளம் கொண்ட மணவாள மாமுனிகள் முமுக்ஷுப்படி, தத்வ த்ரயம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ வசனபூஷணத்திற்கு வேதம், வேதாந்தம், புராணங்கள், அருளிச் செயல் போன்றவைகளைக் கொண்டு பரக்க உரை எழுதினார்.  இராமானுச நூற்றந்தாதி, ஞான ஸாரம் மற்றும் ஆசார்யனேயே அனைத்துமாய் உணர்த்தக்கூடிய ப்ரமேய ஸாரம் உள்ளிட்டவைகளுக்கு உரை அருளிச்செய்தார். திருவாய்மொழியின் சொற்களையும் பொருளையும் தொகுத்துச் சுருங்க அளிக்கும்படிக்குச் சில ஸ்ரீவைஷ்ணவர்கள் பெரிய ஜீயரை ப்ரார்த்திக்கத் திருவாய்மொழி நூற்றந்தாதி எனும் வெண்பா அமைப்பிலுள்ள நூறு பாசுரங்களை சாதித்தார். திருவாய்மொழி நூற்றந்தாதியில் ஒரு பதிகத்தின் முதல் மற்றும் இறுதிச் சொற்களே பாசுரத்தின் முதல் மற்றும் இறுதிச் சொற்களாய் வைத்து, முதல் இரண்டு வரிகளில் பதிகத்தின் பொருளையும் அடுத்த இரண்டு வரிகளில் நம்மாழ்வார் விஷயமான கொண்டாட்டத்தையும் வைத்து அமைத்துள்ளார். 

இவரது சிஷ்யர்கள் : அஷ்டதிக்கஜங்கள் : பொன்னடிக்கால் ஜீயர், கோயில் அண்ணன், பத்தங்கி பரவஸ்து பட்டர்பிரான் ஜீயர், திருவேங்கட ஜீயர், எறும்பியப்பா, அப்பிள்ளை , அப்பிள்ளார் , பிரதிவாதி பயங்கரம் அண்ணா.  இந்த அழகிய  பொம்மையில் நம் ஆசார்யரையும் அவரது அஷ்டதிக்கஜங்களையும்  நன்கு சேவிக்கலாம்.

 

மணவாள மாமுனிகள் அணிந்திருந்த புனித கணையாழி  வானமாமலை மடத்தின் ஆராதனத்தில் இன்றும் உள்ளது. ஐப்பசித் திருமுலம் நன்னாளில் தற்கால ஜீயர் பட்டம் வகிக்கும் ஸ்வாமிகள் அம்மோதிரத்தை அணிந்துகொண்டு  பக்தர்களுக்கு ஸ்ரீ பாத தீர்த்தம் அருளுவார். 

கீர்த்திமிகு ரம்ய (அழகிய) ஜாமாதர (மணவாள) முனி (மாமுனிகள்)கள் திருவடிகளுக்கு பல்லாண்டு,  பல்லாண்டு பாடுவோம்.
