Heard of – Transhumance  !!  - it  is a type of pastoralism or nomadism, a seasonal movement of livestock between fixed summer and winter pastures. In montane regions, it implies movement between higher pastures in summer and lower valleys in winter. Herders have a permanent home, typically in valleys. Generally only the herds travel, with a certain number of people necessary to tend them, while the main population stays at the base.  

On 1 November 1944, a United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) F-13 Superfortress conducted the first flight by an Allied aircraft over the Tokyo region of Japan since the Doolittle Raid in April 1942. This photo reconnaissance sortie returned with 7000 photographs which helped with planning air raids on Japan during the last months of World War II. Attempts by Japanese air units and anti-aircraft gun batteries to shoot down the F-13 failed, as the available fighter aircraft and guns could not reach the high altitude at which it operated.  

Samhain  is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. It is also the Irish language name for November. Celebrations begin on the evening of 31 October, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset.   This is about halfway between the autumnal equinox and winter solstice.  It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals along with Imbolc, Bealtaine, and Lughnasa.   Sir James George Frazer wrote in his 1890 book, The Golden Bough: A Study in Magic and Religion, that 1 May and 1 November are of little importance to European crop-growers, but of great importance to herdsmen practising seasonal transhumance.  The significance for us is different !! 

Today the month of November is born !  - today is Mrigaseersham (star of Thirukachi Nambigal) – 15^th day of Aippaisi – the great month in which Muthalazhwargal, Pillai Logachar  and our Supreme Acaryan  Swami Manavala Mamunigal were born. 

From 7.11 starts the Uthsavam of our Acaryar and 16.11.2023 is ‘Aippaisi Moolam’ –the sarrumurai vaibhavam of Swami Manavala Mamunigal. This post has 3 photos – 1 of Acaryan at Thiruvallikkeni 2. ஐப்பசி ஓர் அற்புத மாசம் - ஐப்பசியில் திருமூலத்தன்று நம் உத்தம ஆசார்யன் சுவாமி மணவாள மாமுனிகள் அவதரித்தார்.  குரு பரம்பரையில் கடைசி ஆச்சார்யன் என்று போற்றப்படும் ஸ்ரீ மணவாள மாமுனிகள் பாண்டி நாட்டில் திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டம் சிக்கல் கிடாரம் என்ற இடத்தில் வாழ்ந்துவந்த திருநாவிரானுடைய பிரான் தாசரண்ணற்கும் ரங்க நாச்சியாருக்கும் திருக்குமாரராய் (கி.பி.1370) ஆழ்வார் திருநகரியில் ஐப்பசி திருமூலத் திருநாளில் அவதரித்தார். சகல சாஸ்திரங்களையும் கற்றறிந்த இவர், ஆழ்வார்களின் ஈரச் சொற்களாகிய திவ்ய பிரபந்தங்களுக்குரிய அர்த்த விசேஷங்களை காலட்சேபங்களாக உபதேசித்துவந்தார். இல்லறத்தைத் துறந்து, துறவறம் பூண்டு “மணவாள மாமுனிகள்” என்ற சிறப்பைப் பெற்ற இவர், சடகோப ஜீயர் சுவாமிகளிடம் சன்னியாசம் பெற்றார். 

திருவரங்கம் பெரிய கோயில் அரங்கனின் கைங்கர்யங்களில் முற்றிலுமாக ஈடுபட்ட இவர் வைணவத்தின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக நாடெங்கிலும் யாத்திரை செய்து, பல திவ்ய தேசங்களயும் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்து, வழிபாட்டு முறைகளை நெறிப்படுத்தி, நம் ஸம்ப்ரதாயத்தை பரப்பினார்.  இவரின் அற்புத காலட்சேபம் வார்த்தைகளை அதிசயித்து,  நம்பெருமாள் திருவரங்கனே இவரிடம் ஒரு வருட காலம் திருவாய்மொழிக்கான “ஈடு” முப்பத்தாறாயிரப்படியைக் காலட்சேபம் கேட்டாராம். மாமுனிகளையே தன்னுடைய ஆச்சார்யன் என்று சபையில் தானே தோன்றி அறிவித்து, . ஆச்சார்யனுக்குரிய தனிப் பாசுரத்தையும் சமர்ப்பித்து தன் பாம்பணையை இவருக்கு அளித்து கௌரவித்தார். 

ரஹஸ்ய கிரந்தங்களுக்கு உரை எழுதத் திருவுள்ளம் கொண்ட மணவாள மாமுனிகள் முமுக்ஷுப்படி, தத்வ த்ரயம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ வசனபூஷணத்திற்கு வேதம், வேதாந்தம், புராணங்கள், அருளிச் செயல் போன்றவைகளைக் கொண்டு பரக்க உரை எழுதினார்.  இராமானுச நூற்றந்தாதி, ஞான ஸாரம் மற்றும் ஆசார்யனேயே அனைத்துமாய் உணர்த்தக்கூடிய ப்ரமேய ஸாரம் உள்ளிட்டவைகளுக்கு உரை அருளிச்செய்தார். திருவாய்மொழியின் சொற்களையும் பொருளையும் தொகுத்துச் சுருங்க அளிக்கும்படிக்குச் சில ஸ்ரீவைஷ்ணவர்கள் பெரிய ஜீயரை ப்ரார்த்திக்கத் திருவாய்மொழி நூற்றந்தாதி எனும் வெண்பா அமைப்பிலுள்ள நூறு பாசுரங்களை சாதித்தார். திருவாய்மொழி நூற்றந்தாதியில் ஒரு பதிகத்தின் முதல் மற்றும் இறுதிச் சொற்களே பாசுரத்தின் முதல் மற்றும் இறுதிச் சொற்களாய் வைத்து, முதல் இரண்டு வரிகளில் பதிகத்தின் பொருளையும் அடுத்த இரண்டு வரிகளில் நம்மாழ்வார் விஷயமான கொண்டாட்டத்தையும் வைத்து அமைத்துள்ளார். 

இவரது சிஷ்யர்கள் : அஷ்டதிக்கஜங்கள் : பொன்னடிக்கால் ஜீயர், கோயில் அண்ணன், பத்தங்கி பரவஸ்து பட்டர்பிரான் ஜீயர், திருவேங்கட ஜீயர், எறும்பியப்பா, அப்பிள்ளை , அப்பிள்ளார் , பிரதிவாதி பயங்கரம் அண்ணா.  இந்த அழகிய  பொம்மையில் நம் ஆசார்யரையும் அவரது அஷ்டதிக்கஜங்களையும்  நன்கு சேவிக்கலாம்.

 

மணவாள மாமுனிகள் அணிந்திருந்த புனித கணையாழி  வானமாமலை மடத்தின் ஆராதனத்தில் இன்றும் உள்ளது. ஐப்பசித் திருமுலம் நன்னாளில் தற்கால ஜீயர் பட்டம் வகிக்கும் ஸ்வாமிகள் அம்மோதிரத்தை அணிந்துகொண்டு  பக்தர்களுக்கு ஸ்ரீ பாத தீர்த்தம் அருளுவார். 

கீர்த்திமிகு ரம்ய (அழகிய) ஜாமாதர (மணவாள) முனி (மாமுனிகள்)கள் திருவடிகளுக்கு பல்லாண்டு,  பல்லாண்டு பாடுவோம்.
