Celebrating birth of Sree Rama 2022 ~ इक्ष्वाकुवंशप्रभवो .. । 

ఏ తీరుగ నను దయజూచెదవో ఇనవంశోత్తమ రామా

నాతరమా భవ సాగర మీదను నళినదళేక్షణ రామా  

Very many centuries ago, descended on this earth, the Greatest Maryada Purush, the epitome of all virtues, who showed to all human beings on how to lead the life…. “Lord Sri Rama”.   

                      Today (10.4.2022)  is the holy day of Sree Rama Navami – the day on which Lord Sri Ramachandra murthy, the supreme avatar was born in the blessed land of  Ayodhya.  Lord Rama descended on earth for the purpose of upholding righteousness and rewarding virtue. The Greatest of  Ithihasa purana ‘Sri Ramayanam’  is the undiluted history of the Greatest Person who descended on this Universe.. .. ..   ~ and there is also the  great character – a warrior, mightily powerful, whose body was as hard as a diamond, whose speed equalled those of fastest flying eagles, who possessed great wisdom, who could organize a group of roaming ones, who can jump hundreds of miles, yet who remained at the feet of his Master, totally committed thinking of their welfare alone – unassuming, yet capable of telling the right things at the right moment – that is Pavana Puthra Hanuman – Aanjaneya, who is called ‘siriya thiruvadi’ – bearer of Lord Rama – who carried Rama on his shoulders during the war in which the demon was killed.   

The good news is foundation work is almost complete and sooner, we all will be in a position to worship Maryada purush at the very place HE was born in Ayodhya and I pray to Sree Rama to give me an opportunity in my life to visit Ayodhya, stay there for a couple of days, bathe in holy Sarayu and worship at Ram Janmamandir, Ammanji mandir, other important temples and ghats at Ayodhya.

பகைவர்களே இல்லாத, உயர்ந்த மதில்களை உடைய அயோத்தி மாநகரத்திலே, சூர்யகுலதிலகனாய்  மன்னுபுகழ் கௌசலை தன் மணிவயிறு வாய்த்தவர்  ஸ்ரீராமபிரான். அனைத்து கல்யாண குணங்களும் ஒரு சேரப் பெற்ற இராமபிரான், தசரதரின் மகனாக சித்திரை மாதம் சுக்ல பக்ஷ நவமியில் அவதரித்தார். இராமர் அப்பழுக்கு இல்லாத  மனிதனாக வாழ்ந்து காட்டியவர்.  இராமச்சந்திர மூர்த்தியின் பேரை சொன்னாலே     எல்லா வளமும் பெருகும்.  

உன்னத பாரதம் உலகின் மணி மகுடமாக திகழ்ந்தது. நம் இதிஹாச புராணங்கள் அற்புத காவியங்கள். உலக நாடுகளில் கலாச்சாரம் தோன்றாமல்,  பல கண்டங்களில் மனிதர்கள்  காட்டுமிராண்டிகளாய் அலைந்துகொண்டிருந்த காலம்;  அமெரிக்கா கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படவே இல்லை, . அந்த நிலையில் இந்தியப் பண்பாடு இருந்த உயர்ந்த நிலை பிரமிக்க வைக்கிறது.  இராமபிரானது   கோசல நாட்டில் வணிகம் பெருகி நடப்பதால், செல்வமும் கணக்கின்றி குவிந்து கிடந்தன. அந்த நாட்டிலுள்ள நிலத்தடி சுரங்கங்களெல்லாம் பற்பல தாதுக்களையும், மணிகளையும் வாரி வாரி கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தன. விளை நிலங்களோ உற்பத்தியைக் கணக்கின்றி கொடுக்கின்றன; தானியங்கள் மலை மலையாய் குவிந்து கிடக்கின்றன. கோசல நாட்டு மக்கள் ஒருவர் போல அனைவரும் நல்லொழுக்கமும் நல்ல பண்பாடும் மிக்கவர்களாகத் திகழ்ந்தார்கள்.  அந்நாட்டை கம்ப நாட்டாழ்வான் வர்ணிக்கையில்: 

“அகில் இடும்புகை, அட்டில் இடும்புகை,

நகரின் ஆலை நறும்புகை நான்மறை

புகலும் வேள்வியின் பூம்புகையோடு அளாய்

முகிலின் விம்மி முயங்கின எங்கணும்”

 அகில்கட்டைகளிலிருந்து வரும் புகை, வீடுகளிலிருந்து உணவு தயாரிப்பால் எழும் சமையல் புகை, கரும்பாலைகளிலிருந்து வரும் புகை, நான்கு வேதங்களின் முறைப்படி செய்யப்படும் வேள்விகளிலிருந்து வரும் வேள்விப்புகை இவை அனைத்தும் சேர்ந்து மேகத்தைப்போன்று எங்கும் பரவியுள்ளன என சிறப்பிக்கிறார்.  

The greatest Ithihasam ‘Sri Ramayanam’ accurately depicts without an iota of exaggeration,  the life and journey of the immortal Maryadha purush - perfect man’s adherence to dharma despite harsh tests of life and time. Lord Rama is the epitome of all virtues and the perfect human being who abandoned the throne and served exile in the forest for the sake of honour of his beloved father.  In the epic, His glory is described by Sage Valmeeki as : 

यावत्स्थास्यन्ति गिरयस्सरितश्च महीतले ।

तावद्रामायणकथा लोकेषु प्रचरिष्यति ॥

~  that as long as the hills remain and streams add life by their flow on earth, so long shall the true story of Rāma prevail.  ** 

குலசேகராழ்வார் தமது பெருமாள் திருமொழியில் எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீராமச்சந்திர மூர்த்தியை புகழும் ஒரு பாசுரம் இங்கே :

                              கொங்குமலிகருங்குழலாள் கௌசலைதன்குலமதலாய்*

தங்குபெரும்புகழ்ச்சனகன் திருமருகா! தாசரதீ*

கங்கையிலும் தீர்த்தமலி கணபுரத்தென்கருமணியே*

எங்கள் குலத்தின்னமுதே இராகவனே! தாலேலோ.  

பரிமளம் மிகுந்த கறுத்த கூந்தலையுடையளான கௌசலையின்  சிறந்த பிள்ளையானவனே!  பொருந்திய மஹாகீர்த்தியையுடைய ஜநக மஹாராஜனுக்கு மாப்பிள்ளையானவனே!  தாசரதீ என உலகோர்களெல்லாம் அன்புடன் அழைக்கும்  சக்ரவர்த்தி திருமகனே!  புனித கங்கை ஆற்றினை  விட  சிறப்பு மிக்க தீர்த்தங்களையுடைய   திருக்கண்ணபுரத்தில் எழுந்தருளியிருக்கிற என் கருமணியே !  எங்கள் ராஜவம்சத்துக்கெல்லாம்  போக்யமான அமுதம் போன்றவனே!  இராகவனே! தாலேலோ ~ என நற்பண்புகளுக்கெல்லாம் திலகமாக ஸ்ரீராமரை தாலாட்டுகிறார் நம் குலசேகராழ்வார்.

On the day of Sri Rama Navami, there will the purappadu of Sri Rama in Hanumantha vahanam  in the evening.  Last year and before there were no purappadus during Sri Rama Navami, due to Covid 19 – this year, we are fortunate to have darshan of Sree Ramachandra murthi.    

                                        Mere chanting of His name [Sri Rama Namam] will bring us all good things and prosperity. 

श्री राम राम  रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे ।

सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने ॥ 

                                   Meditate again and again the divine name of Rama  - mind gets absorbed in the divine consciousness of Rama, it is transcendental and is capable of relieving all evils, giving us all prosperity. 

The telegu words at the start is of  a keerthana on Sree Rama by Baktha Ramadas :

ē tīruga nanu daya chūchedavō, ina vaṃśōttama rāmā

nā taramā bhava sāgaramīdanu, naḻina daḻēkṣaṇa rāmā

Ramadasu prays and queries Rama - In what way will you show me your kindness, O great one of Surya dynasty ? Will it be possible for me to swim this ocean of worldly concerns, O lotus-eyed Rama! O son of Raghu clan! Sita’s consort! Protector of those that seek you! O Rama!  Abode of compassion! Boon-giver to your devotees! To see you is the real sight!  Here is Baktha Ramadasu keerthana sung by Vani Jayaram in the famed film Sankarabharanam to the music of KV Mahadevan. :

Falling the feet of Sri Ramachandra murthi and praying to HIM for the humanity to live in peace and eternal happiness.
