How good is your memory ! ~ சோர்வினால் பொருள் வைத்ததுண்டாகில் சொல்லு !!

How good is your memory – no Q on how much of  Savings you have – how do you protect them ?  will your family members be able to access it without any hassle !  A friend once cried after falling ill that thus far, he has not revealed anything to his family and they would not even know what is available and where they are kept safely !! 

மறதி என்பது மனிதகுலத்தின் சாபம் [சில விஷயங்களில் மறதி வரமும் கூட !!]. ஞாபக மறதி இல்லாதவர்கள் உலகில் யாருமே  இல்லை எனலாம்.   குழந்தைகள் முதல் தள்ளாடும் முதியோர் வரை மறதி இல்லாத மனிதர் இல்லை. மறதிகள் பலவிதமாக உள்ளன. சிலர்  நன்கு  பழகிய மனிதர்களின் பெயர்கள் அல்லது முகங்களைக் கூட மறந்து விடுகின்றனர். சிலர் பொருள்களின் பெயர்களை மறந்து விடுகின்றனர். சிலர் தம் உடைமைகளை, பொருள்களை எங்கே வைத்தோம் என்பதை மறந்து விடுகின்றனர். சிலர் செய்ய வேண்டிய முக்கிய கடமைகளைக் கூட மறந்து விடுகின்றனர்.  ஒரு சமயம் எனது நண்பர் அலுவலகம் முடிந்து வீடு திரும்ப வேண்டிய வேளையில் - தனது இரு சக்கர வாஹனம் கனவில்லை  என்று பதற, அலுவலக நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் தெரு முழுதும் தேடினோம்.  எங்காவது வெளியே சென்றீர்களா, ஹோட்டல் அல்லது வேறு அலுவலகம் முன்பு நிறுத்தி மறந்து விட்டீர்களா என பலவாறு வினவினோம்   .. .. .. அந்த நண்பர் அன்று வண்டியிலேயே வரவில்லை !!  என்பது உணர்ந்தபோது அனைவரும் சிரித்தனர்.

மறதிநோய் (Dementia)  என்பது நினைவு, சிந்தனை, நடத்தையில் ஏற்படும் சீர்குலைவையும், அதனால் நாளாந்த செயற்பாடுகளில் ஏற்படும் சீர்குலைவையும் காட்டும் நோய்க் கூட்டறிகுறியாகும்.

You would have seen this in a couple of movies too ! –  a person would entrust his riches to another person for safe-keeping.  The recipient would slip into the common condition (coma !) – a team would stand at his bedside to see when he wakes up and when he could reveal where the riches are kept !! 

In good olden days, there were no safe vaults and the like – rich would bury their treasures and would even keep them embedded in walls ! ~ when a person suddenly develops ill-health, all his relatives would stand by his side enquiring – how much of wealth he possesses and more importantly where he has hidden them !  .. Periyazhwar advises us that before one attains such stage – fall at the feet of Sriman Narayana and start doing good things for the sampradhayam. 

In this modern World, people no longer write details of their wealth in a diary but keep them on Computers – on protected Excel sheets,  in their emails; e wallets and many more places.  We depend on Computer memory even for remembering telephone numbers of our family members.  How good is that – a Computer memory is just like a human brain. It is used to store data and instructions. Computer memory is the storage space in the computer, where data is to be processed and instructions required for processing are stored.  

                            How to keep a strong password is another challenge   - when you protect your information is a great Science.  Remember movie Sivaji – where it was voice recognition and in trying to crack they would try mimicry artistes !  ..  Origin is a mystery thriller from the stables of Dan Brown set predominantly in Catalonia, Spain.  After tussling with the Illuminati, hunting for the Holy Grail and almost falling victim to a deadly plague, Robert Langdon has to crack a password to access a great presentation that will impact the world in a big way.  A 40-year-old iconoclastic futurist, Kirsch has already created a dust-up with global spiritual leaders after a sneak peek of a new discovery that may answer the questions, “Where did we come from?” and “Where are we going?”  the protagonist Edmond Kirsch, a billionaire philanthropist, computer scientist, futurist, and strident atheist, sets such a strong password – that it is  47 characters long with a string of words and characters; the final stanza of a famous religious poem and for remembering – donates huge sum to a religious place to keep specific pages of that book kept open in display inside a glass tablet.  Interesting !!

There is a much bigger Q – on what is richness, what does the World wants now ! – all our theories lay shattered as the biggest threat to mankind, much bigger than the World wars is now attacking mankind.  As the no. of cases increase, there would be no value for money as rich too would remain afflicted but there is lurching fear that cost of treatment could become out of the reach for commoners ! .. ..  The Tamil Nadu Government  yesterday  announced more restrictions as part of its Covid-19 containment strategy, including a bar on running shops other than those selling essentials like vegetables and provisions. An official release said with effect from May 6 to 20, vegetable and provision shops located in commercial complexes have to remain closed while standalone shops can be open only till noon with 50 per cent customers.  .. .. again curbs and similar restrictions become laughing stock when people do not follow them and there is no strict implementation. 

Amidst all the din, there was quality entertainment from 9^th April 2021 that kept millions inside the home in the evening hours – now that too is gone !  IPL 2021 has been postponed, following several positive Covid-19 cases across franchises over the past couple of days. The move was confirmed by IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, who said it was for the safety of all stakeholders. In a media statement, the IPL said the decision was "unanimously" taken by the tournament's Governing Council along with the top brass of the BCCI. "The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL," the statement said.

 

 

"This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind.  The postponement comes a week after the BCCI reassured all stakeholders and the eight teams that tournament bubble was "totally safe". That note was sent out by the BCCI's interim chief executive officer Hemang Amin, who told players they were playing the 2021 IPL not just to win, but for something "much more important... humanity."

Miles away, the Communist Party of China (CPC) mocked India over the deadly coronavirus, which began in Wuhan last year, wreaking havoc in the country. An account on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, which was linked to the Chinese Communist Party, posted a now-deleted photo over the weekend of China launching a rocket, alongside an image of bodies being cremated in India. The account on Weibo, China’s Twitter-equivalent, shared two images side-by-side of a rocket launch in China and a cremation ground in India, adding a message: “China lighting a fire, India lighting a fire”. .. .. that is the cruel  face of communism for the Global World and WHO which ensured that the originator was never identified with its ill-effects.  Several social media users expressed shock and anger at the insensitivity of the post.
