Science is very interesting ! - When those five billion years are
up, the Sun will become a red giant. That means the Sun will get bigger and
cooler at the same time. When that happens, it will be different than the Sun
we know today. As a red giant, our Sun will become about 2,000 times brighter
than it is now! In what is being considered a particularly rare
event, scientists are projecting that the Sun will be an unusually cool
customer by the year 2050. Earth is bound to become a dry, scorched rock, as
our sun becomes a red giant star. What’s more, as the Milky Way and Andromeda
galaxies collide, our sun and Earth (and the rest of our solar system) are
expected to be hurled outward, away from the galactic center, to the outskirts
of a new large galaxy created in the collision. Humans have
always been intrigued on whether there could be other intelligent life
forms in the universe. Scientists,
perhaps, have never doubted it.
Uthsavams are celebrations ~ Brahmothsavam is celebration on a grand scale. People
happily worship Lord in the streets, standing in front of the houses – have
heard that in olden days, those elders so attached to the Lord would move a few
distance alongwith the Lord, literally following Him. At Thiruvallikkeni, the
brahmothsava purappadu takes hours and naturally, it is tiresome physically,
not in mind for all involved.
Life in a divyadesam is always exhilarating – you get to mingle with so many persons whose life is entwined in service to Emperuman Sriman Narayana. There are Battacharyars whose exceptional dedication ensures that Emperuman comes out adorning the choicest of flowers, ornaments, dress and more. There are Veda adhyapaka goshti – hundreds of them chant Nalayira divyaprabandham in front of Emperuman on the streets and vada chanting after the perumal. There are so many others like Mangala vadhyam, theevatti kainkaryam and more. Of the many kainkaryams, Sripadham thangis are physically associated too and can be very demanding. At Thiruvallikkeni there are many dedicated youngsters who are extremely committed to the kainkaryam of carrying the Lord on their shoulders and do all the associated activities. Their involvement actually commences hours before every purappadu and ends an hour or so late.
Here, are some
photos of various people following Emperuman during His purappadu taken during
Surya prabhai purappadu this morning. For
some it is yet another day ~ for the bakthas, it is another great day of Sri Parthasarathi Perumal
Special brahmothsavam - for Sripadham
thangigal and all other kainkaryabarargal, it is not work ~ b u t – whatever
they do is kainkaryam unto Him. Poliga, Poliga, poliga !!! – long
