ஸ்வாமி நம்மாழ்வார்  பராங்குச நாயகியாக - எம்பெருமானுக்கு மேகங்களை நோக்கி :   அழகிய மேகங்களே,  திருமூழிக்கவாமென்கிற திவ்ய க்ஷேத்திரத்திலே வர்த்திப்பவராய்  சிறந்த திருமேனியையுடையரான ஸ்வாமிக்கு பாபியான நான் விடுகிற தூதாய்ச் சென்று பராங்குச நாயகிக்கு உமது திரு மேனியைக் கொடுத்தருளீர் என்று ஒரு வார்த்தை சொன்னால், இவ்வுபகாரம் செய்கிற உங்களை நிர்மலமான ஆகாசத்தில், இன்னமும் பிரகாசிக்க செய்வர்

 

திருமேனியடிகளுக்குத்  தீவினையேன்  விடுதூதாய்

திருமூழிக்களமென்னும்  செழு நகர் வாய் அணிமுகில்காள்

திருமேனியவட்கருளீர்  என்றக்கால்  உம்மைத்தம்

திருமேனியோளியகற்றித்  தெளிவிசும்பு  கடியுமே.

 

The beautiful temple at Thirumoozhikkulam on the banks of chalakudi is locally known as Lakshmanaswami temple as this too is a shrine associated with legends from the Ramayana.  It is believed that brothers Baratha and Lakshmana together  offered worship  at Tirumoozhikkalam. The name Tirumoozhikalam is said to have originated from the phrase "tiru-mozhi-kalam", on translation means, the site where sweet words were uttered. 

                           Though most guide books would say closer to Trichur or would recommend travelling from Cochin (Ernakulam) – this is closer to Nedumbassery.   This is around 50 km from Thrissur / 35 km from Ernakulam – but less than 15 km from the Cochin airport / Aluva metro station.  So if you are travelling to Kerala by air to Cochin airport, it actually is closer to the airport than reaching Cochin and coming back all the way.
