On the day of Guru Vandana Pranams to the great Valmiki Maharishi who gave us the epic Sri Ramayanam and here is a verse in praise of Sri Ramachandra murthi.

In  Uttara Kanda,  the later part of Ramayana written by Valmiki Maharshi, there is narration of Sree Rama's reign of Ayodhya, the birth of Lava and Kusha, the Ashvamedha yajna, and last days of Rama.

The beautiful movie ‘Lava Kusa”  depicts Sri Rama Pattabhishekam and the brief period of Rama Rajyam, Birth of Lava and Kusa, their visit to Ayodhya, Ashwamedha Yagna and conflict between Rama and his sons and Pattabhishekam of Lava and Kusa and Rama finally ending his Avatar.

Lava Kusa  was beautifull made in  1963 in Telugu directed by C. S. Rao and his father C. Pullayya. The film was scripted by Sadasivabrahmam, Samudrala Sr. along with C. S. Rao and C. Pullayya. The film was produced by Sankara Reddy under Lalita Sivajyothi Films. Lava Kusa is the first full-length colour film of Telugu cinema. The film was a remake of 1934 film of same name which was also directed by C. Pullayya.  The cast included NT Rama Rao,  Anjali Devi, Chittoor Nagayya, Kantha Rao, Sobhan Babu, S. Varalakshmi, Kaikala Satyanarayana and many others

I salute to Shree Rama, the truthful  son of Dasaratha, who is infinite, who is the consort of Sita, the bejewelled lamp of Raghu's clan, who has long arms, whose eyes are like lotus petals, who destroys dark-dwelling evil.

Here is a photo of Sree Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana taken during Theppothsavam 2023 and a beautiful frame from the collection of Sri MA Narasimhan art gallery.
