Emperumanar Uthsavam 2011 - Day 1 (28/04/2011)

Almost 1000 years back, Shri Emperumanar was born in the month of Chithirai in the star of Thiruvathirai which falls on 7^th May 2011 (Chithirai 24^th).   10 day celebrations of His birthday are on,  starting from 28^th April 2011.

Shri Ramajuna lived and guided Vaishnavaites during years 1017 to 1137.  The year of birth was Pingala.  He toured the entire Nation.  He visited Kashmir where the only copy of ancient commentary of Bodhayana was available.  On returning he wrote the authoritative commentary on Brahmasutra dictating the same to Kurathazhwan.  This is famously known as Sri Bashyam. 

The greatest of our Acharyas – Shri Ramanuja was bold to sacrifice himself completely for the welfare of masses. He was a great reformist and social reformer.  He brought in place adorable systems for the management of the precincts of  Sri Rangam divyadesam.  He lived in Melkot (present Mandya district near Mysore) and credited with the construction of a big lake at Thondanur there.Here are some photos taken on the first day purappadu of Swami Ramanujar at Thiruvallikkeni.

Thiruvallikkeni Sri Parthasarathi Brahmothsavam upto Day 3 Morning

The Chithirai Brahmothsavam is happening in a grandiose manner at Thiruvallikkeni.  Thousands throng the streets of Triplicane to have darshan of Lord beautifully decorated in various vahanas.

Thiruvallikkeni Sri Parthar Brahmothsavam 2011

The famous temple of Sri Parthasarathi Swami is resplendent with the festivals and most important of them is the Brahmothsavam which starts on the Chithirai Thirunakshathiram of the month of Chithirai. The Theerthavari festival would take place on the 9^th day on the Thiruvonam thirunakshithiram.

In the divine place of the Lord – Thiruvallikkeni, the Brahmothsavam commenced today [Monday, the 18^th April 2011]. Here are some photos taken during the morning purappadu today.

Thamizh Puthaandu Naal Vazhthukkal - Kara Varusha Thuvakkam

கர வருஷம்  - புது வருஷ பிறப்பு 

இன்று 14/04/2011  தமிழ் புத்தாண்டு. வசந்த ருதுவில் புத்தாண்டு பிறப்பதாக அதர்வ வேதத்தில்  சொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளதாம்.  காலம் ஐந்து அங்கங்களாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பஞ்சாங்கம் என்பதே பஞ்ச (ஐந்து) அங்கங்கள் என்பதுவே.  அவை :  திதி, வாரம், நக்ஷத்திரம், யோகம், கரணம்.  க்ருத, த்ரேத, த்வாபர, கலி யுகங்கள் சேர்ந்தது ஒரு மஹா யுகம்.  17  மஹா யுகங்கள் சேர்ந்தது ஒரு கல்பம். நம் சங்கல்பத்தில் சொல்வது போல இப்போது நடப்பது 'ஸ்வேத வராஹ கல்பம்".  தமிழ் வருடங்கள் அறுபது. பிரபவ வருடம் தொடங்கி, விபவ, சுக்கில, பிரமோதூத என இருபத்தி ஐந்தாம்  வருடம் இக் கர வருஷம். இவ் வருடத்தில் நல்ல மழை பெய்து தனம் தான்யம் வருத்தி அடையுமாம்.  

இந்த இனிய நாளில் நாம் அனைவரும் எல்லா வளங்களும் பெற்று சிறப்புற வாழ்வதற்கு நல வாழ்த்துகள்.  " இனிய தமிழ் புத்தாண்டு நல் வாழ்த்துகள் " 

திருவல்லிக்கேணி பிராமணர்கள் நலச்சங்கம் சார்பில் 'கர வருஷ பஞ்சாங்கம்' நேற்று வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இவ்விழாவில் திரு உ.வே ராஜஹம்சம் சுவாமிகள், எஸ் வே சேகர், என் கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி மற்றும் தமிழ்நாடு பிராம்மணர் சங்க நிர்வாகிகள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
