Ornate Garuda Sevai – guess where !!
The magnificent
composition depicting Sriman Narayana seated upon Garuda, surrounded by ornate
golden arches, richly decorated pillars, celestial attendants and traditional
temple motifs. The intricate goldwork, colourful embellishments and symmetrical
arrangement evoke the grandeur of South Indian temple sculpture and traditional
iconography.
The striking turquoise
background provides a beautiful contrast to the gold ornaments, while the red,
white and green detailing adds colour and depth to the composition. The entire
panel has the appearance of an elaborate temple tableau, bringing together
devotion, craftsmanship and artistic imagination.
There is something
delightful about encountering such a work found in an airport corridor.
Airports are generally associated with hurried journeys, flight announcements
