Hanumantha vahanam ~ அனுமன் புகழ்பாடி : Sri Parthasarathi Brahmothsavam day 5 : 2016

Today 4th Feb 2016 is the 5th day of Brahmothsavam at Thiruvallikkeni.  In the morning it was ‘NachiyarThirukolam’ and in the evening it was ‘Thiruvadi – Hanumanthavahanam’….. remember Lord Rama fought the battle sitting astride Hanumar.

The son of Vayu – Hanumar is the epitome of great virtues ~  a great character – a warrior, mightily powerful, whose body was as hard as a diamond, whose speed equalled those of fastest flying eagles, who possessed great wisdom, who could organize a group of roaming ones, who can jump hundreds of miles, yet who remained at the feet of his Master, totally committed thinking of their welfare alone – unassuming, yet capable of telling the right things at the right moment – that is PavanaPuthra Hanuman – Aanjaneya, who is called ‘thiruvadi’ – bearer of Lord Rama – who carried Rama on his shoulders during the war in which the demon was killed. The very thought of Sri Hanuman brings to mind ~ his unparalleled devotion for Lord Ram and unrivalled physical strength. Perhaps this is one reason why Hanuman is quite often associated with celibates, wrestlers and bodybuilders.

When Sukriva offered to help Lord Rama in search of Sitadevi, there were thousands of Vanarars in his Sena ~ there were old, wise, powerful, youthful, and all others – yet it was Hanuman who was preferred to go to Lanka; the wise Zambavan praised his qualities and encouraged him to jump across the Ocean ~ He accomplished the task manfully and tested the strength of the forces of Lanka too… such was his wisdom and power of accomplishment.  Even Sitadevi nursed a doubt when she stated that only three had the power of crossing the mighty Ocean ~ the son of Vainatheyan [PeriyaThiruvadiGarudar known for his power of flying]; Lord Vayu and the most wise Hanuman – she wondered how the vast multitude in the Sena of Sukriva could cross the Ocean ?

Aanjaneyar with all his might,  always exhibited the rare qualities of kindness, humility, and deep attachment to Lord Rama.  The selfless spirit  of Hanuman  was rewarded by Lord Ram by stating that ‘whenever I am remembered, people will remember you too.’

Sri ParthaSarathi Swami in His resplendent splendour enraptured His devotees with darshan on  ‘HanumanthaVahanam’  which was a great sight to behold……..

Sri Parthasarathi Chandra Prabhai and on Chang'e - 3 lunar lander

Today, 3rd Feb 2016 is day 4 of  Brahmothsavam of  Sri Parthasarathi -  it was the radiant Surya prabhai in the morning and the pleasant ‘Chandra prabhai’ in the evening.

The moon is the easiest celestial object  found  in the night sky — when it's there. One that is visible to naked eye.  Earth's only natural satellite hovers above us bright and round until it seemingly disappears for a few nights. The rhythm of the moon's phases has guided humanity for millennia — for instance, calendar months are roughly equal to the time it takes to go from one full moon to the next. Moon phases and the moon's orbit are mysteries to many. For example, the moon always shows us the same face. That happens because it takes 27.3 days both to rotate on its axis and to orbit Earth. We see either the full moon, half moon or no moon (new moon) because the moon reflects sunlight. How much of it we see depends on the moon's position in relation to Earth and the sun.

Moon’s  influence on Earth's cycles, notably tides, has been charted by many cultures in many ages. The moon moderates Earth's wobble on its axis, leading to a relatively stable climate over billions of years.  The Moon (Luna) is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits (its primary). The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.

Here is a photo of the moon's surface through the keen eyes of Chang'e-3, China's lunar lander. On December 14, 2013, the lander and Yutu, its piggybacking rover, touched down on the moon's northern Mare Imbrium—making China just the third country ever to perform a soft landing on the lunar surface, after theSoviet Union and the United States. China National Space Administration publicly released thousands of the mission's stunning colour photos sometime in 2015. But the shots haven't enjoyed much publicity in Western media until now, in part because China typically releases images by 12 to 18 months after receiving them, and uses an unwieldy website written only in Chinese to showcase them.

Thiruvallikkeni Brahmothsavam - Surya Prabhai Sri Parthasarathi purappadu 2016

At Thiruvallikkeni, in the grand Brahmothsavam of Sri Parthasarathi  on day 4 morning it - Surya Prabhai representing the Sun chariot pulled by 7 horses.   The radiance of Sun would sure get overshadowed by the brilliance of Perumal.  Centuries ago, Thiruvallikkeni was such a pleasant garden with dense vegetation that ThirumangaiAzhwar  described it as ‘இரவியின் கதிர்கள் நுழைதல் செய்து அறியா திருவல்லிக்கேணி” ~ the Thiruvallikkeni where the rays of Sun  have not ventured inside……today, it is a concrete jungle with so many flats, vehicles and over-crowded that there is not proper space for the Perumal purappadu – of course in tune with its older leanings, cattle still remain……

The Sun god is driven by a seven-horsed Chariot depicting the seven days of the week.   Going by Upanishad, their names are : Gayatri, Brhati, Usnik, Jagati, Tristup, Anustup and Pankti.  It was such a wonderful darshan to see Lord Narasimha in Suriyaprabhaivahanam.

Lesser mortals like us need not worry  about the future uncertainties, bad things and  sins of life – ThirumazhisaiAzhwar shows us the path of having in our hearts – that beautiful Lord Krishna reclining on the riverside of the holy Kaveri, who will protect us all the time.  Here are some photos of Lord Sri Parthasarathi  in Surya prabhai at Thiruvallikkeni.
