Sri Andal Neeratta Uthsavam 3 2021 - ** மாரி மலை முழைஞ்சில் .. .. .. சீரிய சிங்கம்**

பக்தி காவியங்களிலே திருப்பாவை ஒரு உயர்ந்த இடத்தைக்கொண்டது.  ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனிடத்திலே அபரிமிதமான காதல், மிக அழகான சொல்லாடல், எளிய நடை, ஒரே தடவை படித்தவுடன் புரியக்கூடிய அர்த்தம் எனினும் பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான வியாக்கியானங்கள்  ~  எல்லாம் கோதைப்பிராட்டியின் திருப்பாவைக்கே உரியன.  ஆண்டாள் நீராட்ட உத்சவத்தில் மூன்றாம் நாள் இன்று (7.1.2021) .. இன்றைய நாள் பாசுரம் = திருப்பாவையில் 'மாரி மலைமுழைஞ்சில் மன்னிக் கிடந்து  உறங்கும்' !!

 

இந்த மாதம் சென்னையில் நல்ல மழை பெய்ந்துள்ளது  - இப்படி ஜனவரி (மார்கழி) மாதத்தில் மழை பெய்யுமா என்ற ஒரு ஐயம் நம் மனதிலே உள்ளது !! மழை காலம் ஒரு இனிய காலம். மரங்களிலும், செடிகளிலும் தளிர் இலைகள் முளைக்கும். வர்ஷா காலத்தில் எல்லாவிடங்களும் ஒரு நீர்க்கோப்பாகும்படி மழைபெய்து வழியெல்லாம் தூறாகி ஸஞ்சாரத்திற்கு அயோக்யமாயிருக்குமாதலால்  அரசர்களும் தத்தம் பகைவரிடத்துள்ள பகையையும் மறந்து, சேனைகளைத் திரட்டிக் கொண்டு போர்புரியப் புறப்படுவதைத் தவிர்ப்பாராம். இன்றைய 'work from home' போல இக்காலங்களில், மன்னர்களும் வீரர்களும் தந்தம் குடும்பத்தினருடன் ஆனந்தமாக பொழுதினை கழிப்பனராம்.      சிங்கங்களும் அக்காலத்தில் பர்வத குகைகளில்  கிடந்துறங்குமாம்.  அவை அப்படி உறங்கி பொழுது கழிக்கும் பொது  அவற்றின் குகை வாசலில் களிறுகள் வந்தடைந்து பிளிறினாலும் அவ்வொலி செவிப்படாதவாறாகவே அவை கிடந்துறங்கும்’ மாரிகாலங் கழிந்தவாறே அவை உறக்கத்தை விட்டெழுந்து, ‘நம் எல்லைக்குள் புகுந்தாரார்? எனச்சீறி நோக்குவதுபோற் கண்களில் நெருப்புப் பொறி பறக்கும்படி விழித்து நாற்புறமும் நோக்கி, உளைமயிர்கள் சிலம்பு மாறு சுற்றும் அசைந்து, உறங்கும்போது அவயவங்களை முடக்கிக்கொண்டு கிடந்தமை யாலுண்டான திமிர்ப்பு தீரும்படி அவயவங்களைத் முறுக்கேறி கிளம்பினாற்போலே நம் எம்பெருமான் வெளிப்பட்டதாக கோதை பிராட்டி தம் திருப்பாவை பாசுரத்திலே உரைக்கின்றார். 

சிங்கம் பிறக்கும்போதே “மருகேந்திரன்” என்றும் “ம்ருகராஜன்” என்றும் சிறப்புப் பெயரைப் பெறுதல்பற்றிச் சீரியசிங்கமெனப்பட்டது. கண்ணபிரானும் நரஸிம்ஹாவதாரத்திலே போற்றப்பட்டதாக  சிலபாகஞ் சிங்கமாயும் சிலபாகம் மானிடமாயுமிருக்கை யன்றியே “சிற்றாயர் சிங்கம்” “எசோதையிளஞ்சிங்கம்” என்றபடி பூர்ண ஸிம்ஹமாயிருத்தலால், சீரிய என்னு மடைமொழி இவனுக்கு மொக்குமென்க. With Chennai witnessing heavy rains since dawn, officials recently  said 500 cusecs of water is being  released from Chembarambakkam lake. Perhaps even with the good rains – the water would only go waste for want of storage capacity !!!  A flood warning was issued to residents residing in low-lying areas around the lake. Officials said the the shutters may be opened again later if heavy rains continue to lash the city. Chennai was among several parts of Tamil Nadu, including Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Tiruvannamalai, that received heavy rainfall today.

Airport observatory of Chennai recorded another 47.4mm of rainfall and inches closer to the all-time record of January 1915. The mammoth total in the first week of January for Chennai rains itself has reached 228.4mm against an all-time record high of 244.1mm set over a century ago in 1915. Chennai needs just another 16mm of rain in January to surpass that invincible record for so long. The conditions look promising to achieve the feat anytime soon and set a new milestone for the largest city on the Coromandel Coast.

It  has rained in  Chennai 5 days in a row having an ultimate downpour on 05th January 2021  with a torrent spell of 126.2mm in 24 hours. Heavy rains have lashed the suburbs and interior parts of Tamil Nadu during the last 24 hours. The port city of Ennore registered 58mm and Coimbatore, Madurai, Parangipettai recorded 113mm, 62mm and 67mm respectively. Tamil Nadu has been rain surplus in the first week of January by 800% measuring about 30mm of rainfall against a normal of 4mm. All is not over yet and conditions are favourable for another heavy spell in the 2nd week of January over Tamil Nadu. This time the southern parts of Tamil Nadu will be smashed with heavy rainfall between 09th and 11th January.

Lions are the second-largest cats in the world, after tigers. Known as the "king of beasts" or "king of the jungle," these regal felines once roamed Africa, Asia and Europe, but now only live in parts of Africa and India.  Experts have long recognized two subspecies of lion, Panthera leo leo (the African lion) and Panthera leo persica (the Asiatic lion).   In 2017, the Cat Specialist Group published their reclassification of lions into two new subspecies: Panthera leo leo (also called the Northern subspecies) and Panthera leo melanochaita (the Southern subspecies).

Panthera leo leo includes lion populations in Central Africa, West Africa (West African or Senegal lion), India (Asiatic lion) and extinct populations previously found in North Africa (Barbary lion), southeastern Europe, the Middle East, the Arabian peninsula and southwestern Asia. Panthera leo melanochaita includes lion populations from southern parts of Africa (Katanga lion and the Southeast African lion) and East Africa (Masai lion and Ethiopian lion). Lions have strong, compact bodies and powerful forelegs, teeth and jaws for pulling down and killing prey. Their coats are yellow-gold, and adult males have shaggy manes that range in color from blond to reddish-brown to black. The length and color of a lion's mane is likely determined by age, genetics and hormones. Young lions have light spotting on their coats that disappears as they grow. Without their coats, lion and tiger bodies are so similar that only experts can tell them apart.

At Thiruvallikkeni it was day 3 of Andal Neeratta uthsavam and due to incessant rains, there was no thiruveethi purappadu but only ulpurappadu near dwajasthambam and neerattam at Thiruvaimozhi mantapam. By sheer coincidence 7^th Jan 2014 (like today) was day 3 of Sri Andal Neeratta uthsavam and here are some photos of Andal taken on that day too.

மாரி மலை முழைஞ்சில் மன்னிக் கிடந்து உறங்கும்

சீரிய சிங்கம் அறிவுற்றுத் தீ விழித்து

வேரி மயிர் பொங்க எப்பாடும் பேர்ந்து உதறி

மூரி நிமிர்ந்து முழங்கிப் புறப்பட்டுப்

போதருமா போலே நீ பூவைப்பூ வண்ணா உன்

கோயில் நின்று இங்ஙனே போந்தருளி கோப்பு உடைய

சீரிய சிங்காசனத்து இருந்து யாம் வந்த

காரியம் ஆராய்ந்து அருள்-ஏலோர் எம்பாவாய் ! 

மழைகாலத்தில் மலையிலுள்ள குகைகளில் தனது பேடையுடன் உறங்கின  சீர்மையையுடைய சிங்கமானது, உணர்ந்தெழுந்து, நெருப்புப்பொறி பறக்கும்படி கண்களை விழித்து, தனது பிடரி சிலிர்த்து, உடம்பை உதறி - ஏனைய மிருகங்கள் நடுங்க, நாற்புறங்களிலும் புடைபெயர்ந்து  தனது சரீரத்தை  உதறி, சோம்பல் முறித்து, கர்ஜனை பண்ணி வெளிப்புறப்பட்டு வருவது போல, பூவை பூ வண்ணனான எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணன்  தனிஉடைய திருக்கோயிலினின்றும் எழுந்தருளி இவ்விடத்திலே  எழுந்தருளி கோப்பு உடைய அழகிய ஸந்நிவேசத்தையுடைய  சீரிய லோகோத்தரமான சிங்காசனத்து எழுந்தருளியிருந்து  நாங்கள் மநோரதித்துக் கொண்டு வந்த காரியத்தை ஆராய்ந்து கிருபை செய்ய வேணும்’ என கோதை பிராட்டி எம்பெருமானிடத்திலே  பிரார்த்திக்கின்றார்.
