The tamil month of Purattasi has a pride of place. Devotees throng Vishnu temples, especially Tirupathi. In this month, occurs the annual Brahmothsavam at Tirupathi. It is also
the month of ‘Navrathri’ festival.
Navarathri festival started from
Sunday 29.9.2019 and concluded with Vijayadasami on 8.10.2019.
Devotees in large numbers visit Thiruvallikkeni
Divyadesam. Every Saturday of the month
of Purattasi, there is Periya maada veethi purappadu of Lord Azhagiya
Singar. Today 12th Oct 2019 was Sani varam 4 and
at Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam,
there was grand Purappadu of Sri Azhagiya Singar.

அழகியசிங்கர் அருள் பாலித்தார்.
வடிவார் முடிகோட்டி வானவர்கள், நாளும்
கடியார் மலர்தூவிக் காணும் - படியானை,
செம்மையாலுள்ளுருகிச் செவ்வனே நெஞ்சமே,
மெய்ம்மையே காண விரும்பு.
திருப்பரமபதத்திலே உள்ள நித்யஸூரிகள் தங்களுடைய அழகிய முடிகளை வணங்கி
நறுமலர்களைப் ஸமர்ப்பித்து ஸேவிக்கும்படியாகவுள்ள பெருமானை நெஞ்சமே!
காணவிரும்பு என்கின்றனராம் ~ ஸ்ரீபேயாழ்வார், முறைப்படி உள்ளுருகி
சீர்மையான வழிமுறையாலே எம்பெருமானை உள்ளது உள்ளபடியே காண விரும்பு
என்கிறார்.

dazzled. One could not take eyes away from the resplendent splendour –
enhanced by the ornaments, the sky blue silk draped ubaya nachimar, the
crown, fragrant garlands, majestic walk - while the celestials at Thiru
Paramapadam, the abode of Emperuman bowed their crowned heads at the feet of
Him, offering most fragrant flowers, longing to see Him, Sri Peyazhwar advises
us all to melt with the desire to see Him as He really is.
