திருவல்லிக்கேணி ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி கோவிலில் ஜூன் நாலாம் தேதி முதல் ஒன்பதாம் தேதி வரை வசந்த உத்சவம். ஏழு நாள் நடக்கும் இவ்வுத்சவம் இந்த முறை ஆறு நாட்கள் தான். ஜூன் பத்து வெள்ளி அன்று அங்குரார்ப்பணம். அன்று - அழகியசிங்கருக்கு ஆனி பிரம்மோத்சவம் துவக்கம். ஜூன் 13 அன்று கருட வாஹனம்; ஜூன் 17 அன்று திருத்தேர்.
வசந்தம் என்பது பருவம். வசந்த ருது எனவும் இளவேனில் எனவும் பெயர் பெற்றது இது. சித்திரை. வைகாசி இரண்டையும் இளவேனில் என்பார்கள். வசந்தகாலம் எல்லோரும் ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்க்கும் பருவம். தளிர்க்கும், பூக்கும் தாவரங்கள்,பாடித் திரியும் பறவைகள் என கூர்ந்து நோக்கினால் மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும், வியப்பாகவும் இருக்கும் காலம் இது.
வெங்கடரங்கம் பிள்ளை தெருவில் ஒரு அழகான பெரிய பங்களா இருந்தது. உள்ளே ஏராளமான பூச்செடிகளும் மரங்களுமாக பசுமையும் மணமும் குலுங்கும். நடுவில் உள்ள மண்டபத்தை சுற்றி இரண்டு சிறிய தடாகைகள். அவற்றில் நீரூற்று கூட இருந்ததாக ஞாபகம். நடை பாவி என்னும் படிக்கட்டு இறங்கி குளிக்க கூடிய கிணறு ஒன்றும் உண்டு. சில வருடங்கள் முன்பு வரை, பெருமாள் இங்கே காலையில் எழுந்து அருளி திருமஞ்சனம் கண்டருளி, மாலை உலா வந்து, திரும்பி கோவிலுக்கு புறப்பாடு கண்டருள்வார். சில வருடங்கள் முன் இது தடைப்பட்டு போனது. இப்போது பங்களா இல்லாததால் பெருமாள் பெரிய மாடவீதி புறப்பாடு மட்டுமே கண்டருள்கிறார். இவ்வளவு வருமானம் வரும் கோவிலில், பக்தர்கள் யாரவது புதிதாக வசந்த மண்டபத்தை கட்டுவித்தால் சிறப்புறும்.
நமது திவ்ய தேச எம்பெருமான் - ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி - பார்த்தன் ஆகிய அர்ஜுனனுக்கு தேர் ஓட்டும் சாரதி ஆனதால் - பார்த்தசாரதி. விஸ்வாமித்திரருக்கு யயாதி பேரன். யயாதிக்கு யது, புரு, அநு என 3 பிள்ளைகள். புருவின் வம்ஸத்தில் திருதராஷ்டிரன், பாண்டு பிறந்தனர்; இவர்களுக்கு கௌரவர்களும், பாண்டவர்களும் பிறந்தனர். இவர்களது கதைதான் மகாபாரதம் காவியம். யயாதியின் மகனான யதுவிற்கு குகுரர், யஜமானர் என 2 பிள்ளைகள். யஜமானருக்கு சூரஸேனனும், சூரஸேனனுக்கு வஸுதேவர் என்ற மகனும், ப்ருதா, ச்ருதச்ரவஸ் என்ற 2 பெண்களும் பிறந்தனர்.
ப்ருதா குந்தி தேச ராஜாவிற்கு ஸ்வீகாரம் கொடுக்கப் பட்டாள். குந்தி தேச ராஜாவின் மகள் ஆனதால் ப்ருதா, குந்தி என்ற பெயருடன் விளங்கினாள். குந்திக்கு கர்ணனும் பாண்டவர்களும் பிறந்தனர். அர்ஜுனன் குந்தி புத்திரன், கவுந்தேயன்; ப்ருதாவின் புத்திரன் ஆனதால் - பார்த்தன். அந்த பார்த்தனுக்கு சாரதிதான் நம் பார்த்தசாரதி.
பார் எல்லாம் புகழ்ந்திடும் பார்த்தனின் வசந்த உத்சவம் இரண்டாம் நாள் எடுக்கப்பட்ட சில படங்கள் இங்கே :

The 7 day long Vasanthothsavam is on
at Triplicane. ‘vasantham ‘ is a season –
a pleasant one at that. There existed a
bungalow in Venkatrangam Street abound with many trees, fragrant flowers, ponds
and a big well which had steps for getting inside. All that is gone. Till a few years back, Sri Parthasarathi
Perumal used to visit this Vasantha Uthsava Bungalow in the morning and ‘thirumanjanam’
would be performed there. In the
evening, He would return. Now it is only
‘periya mada veedhi’ purappadu. Here are
some photos taken during the second day purappadu on 5th June [Sunday]
This time this Uthsavam is only 6
days as the “Aani Brahmothsavam” of Lord Azhagiya Singar is commencing on
Saturday 11th and
Ankuraarpanam is on Friday. The Garauda
Sevai is on 13th June [Monday] and Thiru ther [car festival] is on 17th
June.
Our Perumal is known as Parthasarathi
– the charioteer of Parthan [Arjunan]. Here
is something on the dynasty lineage.
King Yayathi was the grandson of sage Vishwamitra. He had
3 sons called Yathu, Puru and Anu.
Puru’s lineage is Dhrutharashtran
and Pandu after whom came Gouravas and Pandavas.
Yathu’s sons were Kkurar and Yajamanar. Son of Yajamanar was Soorasenan – to Soorasena
was born Vasudeva [father of Lord Krishna] and two daughters Pritha (Pṛthā) and Sruthasravas.
King Kuntibhoja was childless for long and Prutha was given on adoption –
she became Kunti. Kunti’s children were
Karna, Dharmar, Arjunan and Bhima.
Prutha’s son is Parthan – the other name of Arjun. Since Lord Krishna charioteered Arjunan in
Mahabaratha war, HE came to be known as
Lord Parthasarathi [Sarathi – charioteer – the one who drove the chariot for
Parthan]
