How wonderful ! – how beautiful !!  .. Beauty -  across cultures and within cultures, most people agree on  beauty as objectivity.   Attractive fair skin, big eyes, a perfect jawline,  sharp nose, pouty lips, a slim figure, and whatnot – generally defines who is most beautiful. Setting body and beauty standards is highly encouraged in this ignorant yet boastful  century. Beauty is commonly described as a feature of objects that makes these objects pleasurable to perceive.  Beauty, together with art and taste, is the main subject of aesthetics, one of the major branches of philosophy. 

Since the dawn of time, society has been obsessed with beauty. Our desire to stay forever young or turn back the clock to the days of our youth to be “young and beautiful” is ubiquitous in society. The standard of beauty is essentially a variable standard of what it means to be attractive that is contingent on the feminine beauty ideals that are present in a given culture.  Some definition puts that  beauty has been shaped by society 's standards instead of what people actually look like. It signifies that the society sets up expectations of how we define beauty by manipulating beliefs of people to recognize that body shape, skin color, race, ethnicity, or anglicized features are what makes a person distinguish their beauty instead of what people actually look like in reality.  All that perhaps is Western thought !! 

மிக சிறந்த இராம பிரான் அலங்காரம் செய்து கொண்டு திருமணத்திற்கு புறப்படுகிறான். அழகோ அழகு. கம்ப நாட்டாழ்வார் தம் இராமாயணத்தில் இவ்வழகை அற்புதமாக வர்ணிக்கின்றார். தேவர்களுக்கு , இமையவர்கள் என்று ஒரு பெயர் உண்டு. காரணம், அவர்கள் கண் இமைக்காது. இராமனின் அழகைப் பார்த்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் தேவர்களாக மாறி விட்டார்களாம். அவர்கள் கண் இமைப்பது நின்று போனதால்  !! 

அமைவு அரு மேனியான் அழகின் ஆயதோ?

கமை உறு மனத்தினால் கருத வந்ததோ?

சமைவு உற அறிந்திலம்; தக்கது ஆகுக-

இமையவர் ஆயினார் இங்கு உளாருமே! 

"மாந்தர் யாவர்க்கும் அமைய இயலாத சிறந்த திருமேனியை உடைய ராமபிரானின் மிகுந்த அழகின் காரணத்தாலோ அல்லது  தனது (கம்பரின்) பொறுமை மிகுந்த மனத்தால் ராமனின் அழகையே நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதால் வந்ததோ - இந்த இரண்டில் எது பொருந்துகிறது என்று அறிந்தோம் இல்லை' என்று கம்பர் ஆனந்தக் குழப்பக் கடலில் தானும் மூழ்கி, நம் அனைவரையும் குதூகலிக்க வைக்கிறார்.  இப்படி ஒரு மேனி அழகு யாருக்கும் அமையாது.  அந்த அழகினால் வந்ததோ ? அல்லது பொறுமையான மனத்தினால் நினைத்ததால் வந்ததோ  தெரியவில்லை !!  எது சரியோ, அதையே வைத்துக் கொள்ளலாம்; இமைக்காத தேவர்கள் ஆயினர் எல்லா மக்களும். -  ஏனெனில் அவர்தம் கண்கள் அமைக்கவில்லை !!   கண் இமைப்பது என்பது இயல்பாக நிகழக் கூடிய ஒன்று. யாரும்  அதற்காக  வலிந்து வேலை  செய்ய வேண்டாம். அப்படி தானே நிகழும் ஒன்று கூட , இராமனின் அழகைப் பார்த்தவுடன் இமைப்பது  கூட  மறந்து போனதாம்.

 

அழகியான் தானே ! அரியுருவம் தானே !  - என ஆழ்வாரால் மங்களாசாசனம் பெற்ற ஸ்ரீஅழகியசிங்கன் வடிவழகு இன்று திருவல்லிக்கேணி ஏகாந்த சேவையில்
