                Thiruvallikkeni divaydesam twisted as Triplicane is Xanadu – the ultimate haven idyllic, luxurious,   exotic place for those devoted to kainkaryam of Emperuman as  Srivaishnavaites way of life is best lived in this great Diyadesam with hundreds doing kainkaryam to Emperuman.  

திருவல்லிக்கேணியின் சிறப்பு இங்குள்ள பெரியவர்கள், எம்பெருமானிடத்தில் அடிமை பூண்டு கைங்கர்யங்கள் செய்து, இளைஞர்களையும் ஊக்குவிப்பதே !    ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணனே  பரம்பொருள் - நமது வாழ்வின் அர்த்தமே, அவனை பணிந்து, அவனுக்கு பணி செய்து கிடத்தலே!!  எம்பெருமான் இடத்திலே நம்மை ஈடுபடுத்திக்கொண்டோர்க்கு 'சகலமும் அவனே'  -  நம்மை அழைத்து, அரவணைத்து, காத்து, சரியான பாதையிலே எடுத்துச்செல்பவன் அவன் ... அவனது திருப்பாத கமலங்களை அருகே இருந்து அனுபவித்து, அவனுக்கு கைங்கர்யம் பண்ண பற்பல  அரிய வாய்ப்புகள் அவனே நமக்கு தந்து அருள்கிறான்.   

We go to Temples, worship Emperuman, forget our worries and are blissfully happy…  .. in the midst of festivity in any Temple, we worship Emperuman in various sarruppadi (alankarams). The aim of life is to reach Him by serving Him and those who do kainkaryam to Him.  Srivaishnavaite way of life is singing paeans, chanting divyaprabandham, doing service and having darshan at His various abodes.    

Life in a divyadesam is always exciting ! ~ it provides ample opportunities to be with Emperuman and do kainkaryam .. .. the primary challenge is one of involvement and being with Lord for long hours.  It is an exponential World ripe with opportunities,  so many entertainment, and diversions to spend life without worry !! – a group of 150+  people ! – devoted to sripatham kainkaryam.    All the philosophies, axioms and pearls of wisdom – people talk about being good to others.  

A couple of decades ago, when those coming for rendering this service were becoming thinner, this group got more organized and formed Sri Parthasarathi Swami Sripadham Trust ~  through which sripadham kainkaryabarars make many kainkaryams to the temple.  At Triplicane – though every one of them is well educated -  the passionate qualification is kainkaryam – everything else is secondary.  

In a few more days – come 1^st May, the Chithirai Brahmothsavam would begin – the grandiose of the Uthsavam is Emperuman thiruveethi purappadu on big vahanams – the cynosure of eye being Dharmathi peedam, Simhan, Sesha, Garuda, Chandra, Surya Prabhai, Hanumantha, Yanai, Kuthirai and of course the majestic thiruther.  Those who have been fortunate enough to have darshan of vahana purappadu know – Emperuman is carried on vahanam, mounted on pattarai that accommodates Battars and thirukudai … .. and for carrying all – “thandu” – “Varai” – long thick heavy wooden poles are used.

திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் சிறப்புற நடைபெற்று  வரும் ஆசார்யர் எம்பெருமானார் இராமானுஜர்  உத்சவத்தில் இன்று எட்டாம்  நாள்- அக்ஷய த்ரிதியை - வெள்ளி யானை வாகன புறப்பாடு .  இன்று மாலை திருவீதி புறப்பாடு துவங்கும் முன்னர் 6.30 அளவில்   சிறப்பு புறப்பாடு நடைபெற்றது !  - " வாகன தண்டுகள் கரிக்கோலம்"  - எம்பெருமானுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்க படுமுன் - பொருள்கள், வீதி ஊர்வலமாக சென்று பின்னர் மந்திர உச்சாடனங்களுடன் திருக்கோவிலுக்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கப் பட்டன.

Akshaya Thrithiyai over the years has been promoted as a big event – and tonnes of Gold, silver, diamond ornaments and other assets are purchased.  At Triplicane, the Sri Parthasarathi Swami Sripadham Trust chose to celebrate not with any purchase for self but with dedication to Emperuman – four new thandus for Emperuman at approx cost of Rs.10 lakhs.  Poliga, poliga, poliga – the kainkaryam of this group of youngsters.

Today just before Sri Ramanujar vellai yanai purappadu, four thandu bought, chiseled, seasoned and ready for the vahana purappadu were dedicated – as it happens with the new samarpanais – they were taken on thiruveethi purappadu (karikolam).  Just to add that there are around 50 to 60 bigger vahana purappadus happening at Thiruvallikkeni every year !!! – and it requires not less than 50 – 60 dedicated kainkaryabarars for each purappadu
