Emperuman, the saviour - அலைநீர் கடலுள் அழுந்தும் நாவாய் !!

The concept of floatation is one of the important properties of fluids which is based on buoyancy and thrust. The phenomenon of floatation totally depends on the various properties of fluids and objects. The fluid in which a body floats should relocate or displace the fluid of its own weight to float; this is known as the law of floatation.

Across the globe, migrants risk their lives to save their lives, to find and live in a better place !!  . .. .. but they are not welcome as they create unrest in the places they arrive !!  . ..   more than 33,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel in small boats so far this year, official government figures have revealed. Data released by the Ministry of Defence (MoD), UK,  said 33,001 people have been intercepted making the dangerous journey across the 21-mile Dover Straits in 2022. A total of 7,961 of those migrants arrived in September alone and this figure is expected to increase as a further 400 people crossed the Channel today.

Not sure how scientific this is – but a daily reported that - If you put thousands of migrant boats into the sea then of course the seal levels are going to rise!

         According to an article published in a newspaper, the influx of migrant boats has caused an increase in the displacement of water, resulting in a rise in sea levels which woke lefties continue to insist is caused by climate change.  It further suggested that the Archimedes’ principle, which states that the upward buoyant force on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object, is to blame for the rising sea levels.  The editorial went on, “If you put a hundred heavy toy boats in the bath with you, then you’ll notice the bath water clearly rises. The migrant crisis is having exactly the same effect. It’s basic science, and only the lefties will deny it.”

Critics have pointed out that this version is  not backed by scientific evidence and that climate change is the real cause of rising sea levels.  Despite the backlash, the news daily  remains committed to its theory and has called on the Government to take action to prevent the sea levels from rising any further by stopping all the boats, before the rising levels threaten the value of all those nice seafront properties owned by its readers.

 

This is not the only one there are more baffling theories – one such could change the way scientists think about the evolution of modern humans and the factors that triggered perhaps the most important event in human prehistory, when Homo sapiens left their African homeland to colonize the world, speaking of migration of humans thousands of years ago.

This great migration brought our species to a position of world dominance that it has never relinquished and signaled the extinction of whatever competitors remained—Neanderthals in Europe and Asia, some scattered pockets of Homo erectus in the Far East and, if scholars ultimately decide they are in fact a separate species, some diminutive people from the Indonesian island of Flores (see "Were 'Hobbits' Human?"). When the migration was complete, Homo sapiens was the last—and only—man standing.

தமிழரின் கடல் வாணிபம் மிகத் தொன்மையானது. தமிழர்கள் பெரிய பாய்மரக் கப்பல்களிலே சரக்குகளை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு அயல்நாடுகளுக்குச் சென்று வாணிபம் செய்துள்ளனர். தமிழர் நாவாய் வைத்து வாணிபம் செய்ததற்கு ஆதாரமாகப் பானை ஓடுகள், காசுகள், சுவரோவியங்கள் ஆகிய தொல்லியல் சான்றுகளும் இலக்கியங்களும் தமிழரின் கடலோடிய ஆற்றலைப் பறைசான்றுகின்றன.  நாவாய் சாத்திரத்தில் கப்பல் கட்டுவதற்கு மரத்தைத் தேர்வு செய்தல், கப்பல் கட்டும் முறைகள், கப்பலின் உறுப்புகள், கப்பலைச் செலுத்தும் முறைகள், மரக்கலம் செய்வதற்கான நல்ல நாள், மரம் வெட்டிவரச் சாத்திரம் ஆகியன கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்நூலில் கப்பலைக் குறிக்க நாவாய், வங்கம், கலம், ஏரா, தோணி, யாத்திரை மரம், படகு, ஓடம், கப்பல் முதலிய பல்வேறு சொற்கள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Those ventured into the sea were not always safe-  especially in stormy weather - like a ship caught in stormy ocean signalling in distress,  the ocean of birth stirs, rattles and shivers humans – the only relief and Saviour is Sriman Narayana with Conch and Discuss,  who by His  exceeding grace and divinity,   comes nearer, takes us into His fold and protects us.  In the words of Swami Nammalwar in his Thiruvaimozhi :

ஆவாரார் துணை என்று* அலைநீர் கடலுள் அழுந்தும்

நாவாய் போல்* பிறவிக் கடலுள்* நின்று நான் துளங்க*

தேவார் கோலத்தொடும் * திருச்சக்கரம் சங்கினொடும்*

ஆவா ! என்று அருள் செய்து* அடியேனொடும் ஆனானே

கஷ்டங்கள் வரும்போது நம்பிக்கை பறந்து விடுகிறது, மனம் நிம்மதி இல்லாமல் பயத்துடன் அலை பாய்கிறது.  நம்மை காப்பாற்ற வல்லார் தாம் யார் என்று மானுடர்கள் கதறி அழுகின்றனர்.  அலைகள் ஆர்ப்பரிக்கின்ற  பெரிய கடலினுள்ளே அமிழ்ந்துகிற நாவாய் எனும் படகுகள் போல, அடியேன்   ஸம்ஸாரக் கடலினுள்ளே உழன்று சிரமப்படும் வேளையில் -  எம்பெருமானான ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன்  திவ்யமான வடிவோடும்,  திருவாழி திருசங்குகளோடும்கூடி  எமக்கு க்ருபைபண்ணி என்னோடும் கூடினான்.  அத்தகைய எம்பெருமானின் தாள் பணிந்தோர்க்கு எந்த துயருமே இல்லை என அறுதியிட்டு உரைக்கின்றார் ஸ்வாமி நம்மாழ்வார்.
