நோய் (வியாதி, பிணி) என்பது உயிரினங்களின் உடலிலோ, மனதிலோ ஏற்படும்
அசாதாரண நிலைகளைக் குறிக்கும். இதனை நலமற்ற நிலை, சீரழிந்த நிலை எனலாம். நோய் மனித
வாழ்வின் நிலையான துன்பங்களில் ஒன்று. இப்போது
உலகையே அச்சுறுத்திக்கொண்டு இருப்பது ஆங்கிலத்தில் எபிடெமிக் (Epidemic) என்ற சொல் - ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நாடு அல்லது பிராந்தியத்தில் உருவாகும்
தொற்று நோயைக் குறிக்கும். தேச அல்லது பிராந்திய,
இன எல்லைகளைக் கடந்து இன்னொரு எல்லைக்குள் நுழையும் கணம் அவை பேண்டெமிக் (Pandemic) என்ற நிலையை அடையும். அப்படி வரலாற்றில் நிகழ்ந்த ஆவணப்படுத்தப்பட்ட முதல் கொள்ளை நோய் என்றால் அது
கிரீஸில் உருவான ஏதென்ஸ் ப்ளேக் என்ற மர்ம நோய்தான். இப்போது கொரோனா தொற்று உலகத்தையே
அச்சம் கொள்ள வைத்துள்ளது.
எல்லா காலங்களிலும், இது போன்ற சங்கட காலங்களிலும்
நாம் செய்ய வேண்டியது என்ன? திருவேங்கடவன் இருக்கும் போது, நமக்கு என்ன மனக்கவலை? திருவேங்கடமுடையானன்றோ ப்ராப்யம், திருமலையொன்றே நம் வினை ஓய்வதற்குப் போதுமென்கிறார்,
சுவாமி நம்மாழ்வார். திருவேங்கடம் என்பது ஒரு அற்புத ஸ்தலம். ஏழுமலையான் திருவேங்கடவன் உறையுமிடம். வேங்கடபதத்திற்கு பொருள் : வேம்பாவம், கடம் – எரித்தல், பாவங்களை
எரிப்பதனால் வேங்கடமென்று பெயர் பெற்றது.
“வெங்கொடும்பவங்களெல்லாம் வெந்திடச் செய்வதால் நல், மங்கலம் பொருந்துஞ்சீர்
வேங்கடமலை யாதென்று“ என்னும் புராணச் செய்யுளுமுணர்க.
இத்திருமலையை அடைந்தமாத்திரத்தில் தீவினையெல்லாம் சாம்பலாகப்பெற்று நன்மைகள் யாவையும்
நடக்கும் இடமே இந்த ‘வேங்கடாசலம்.' வேங்கடமே தொழ நம் வினை ஓயுமே !

Things will have to change. Tamil Nadu government has permitted operation of autorickshaws and cycle rickshaws
with a passenger across the state, excluding Greater Chennai Police limits

across the world, the commercial production of a successful vaccine could take
at least a year or more. Therefore, several countries have simultaneously
started studies on using different drugs or combination of drugs for immediate
treatment of Covid-19 as the pandemic has already cost over 3 lakh lives.
For several days now, Bihar had been showing signs of a big
surge in its novel Coronavirus cases. On Thursday, the state reported 380
cases, which was nearly 25 per cent of its entire caseload till now. With close
to 2,000 cases now, more than half of which has been discovered in just last
one week, Bihar is fast developing into the next trouble state. Coronavirus themed robots were deployed in a
containment zone in Chennai on Wednesday to sanitise the area - the latest in a
long line of robots that have been enlisted to aid coronavirus relief and
social distancing efforts. The robots, designed to resemble the shape of the
virus, were carried on a bright green three-wheeler auto which was also based
on corona theme.

Lockdown 4.0 was imposed
across India on May 18 along with certain relaxations. The railways have
started special trains, whereas fights are all set to start operating from May
25. As per the new guidelines from the government, states have been allowed to
resume industrial activities, offices, and standalone markets from May 18
onwards. The new guidelines also state that religious places should continue to
remain shut till May 31, and large gatherings have not been allowed yet.
Amid all this, the
Tirupati Temple is gearing up to reopen, with precautionary measures in place.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD),
has sought permission from the state government last week to reopen.
Referring to this, TTD Chairman Y.V. Subbareddy told a leading media portal,
“Tirumala has been in the green zone since the beginning of the pandemic. We
closed down the temple as a precautionary measure. Lord Venkateshwara has
always been our guide and will keep us safe with his blessings during this
time.” The temple shut down for the
first time in its history on March 20. The temple Chairman added that they will
take every possible measure to ensure precautionary measures are followed to
keep the virus at bay, including wearing face masks, maintaining social
distance, and thermal screening. He also mentioned that the number of devotees,
who come for darshan, will also be reduced.
He emphasised that they
have already made the necessary arrangements, and will ensure that devotees do
not come in groups. They have painted the main areas with circles to ensure
those visiting the temple premises follow the protocols. As of now, they have
decided to allow only a limited number of devotees per day, he maintained.
Further, the devotees will be allowed to enter in a phased manner, where the
premises of the temple will also be sanitised after every batch completes the
darshan. Authorities of Sri Venkateswara
temple have decided to sell 'Tirupati laddu Prasadam' among devotees at 50%
discount in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad and all district headquarters in
Andhra Pradesh.
At Thiruvallikkeni during
the Irapathu uthsavam – day 6 is grand for it is ‘Thiruvengadamudaiyan
thirukkolam’ for Sri Parthasarathi.
