Hanumath Jayanthi 2020 ~
Irapathu day 4 – 28.12.2020
There is only one by name Sri Rama, born in the lineage of Ikshwaku. He is totally balanced, one in complete control of His words, thoughts and deeds; a man of great valour ~ a person of steadfast character and radiant countenance – Lord Sree Rama*
Life is too
beautiful to be spent worrying ! .. ..
and there is so much to know – one could feel very happy, peaceful and
enlightened – just by looking up at the clear sky, gazing the moon, stars and
thinking of the galaxies and more ! ..
Following
the celestial event of Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, skywatchers can
get excited for the upcoming lunar event Cold Moon 2020. The last full moon of
the year also known as the Cold Moon will also be the highest full moon in the
entire Gregorian year. Interestingly, the final and 13th full moon of 2020 will
be visible on two different days. According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the
peak illumination of the full moon is supposed to take place on Wednesday, 30
December at 30 Dec, 9.00 am IST (Tuesday, 29 December, at 10.30 pm EST). The
Almanac says that people can begin to spot the December full moon just before
sunset.
In physics,
spacetime is any mathematical model which fuses the three dimensions of space
and the one dimension of time into a single four-dimensional manifold. Apart from the very rare astronomical phenomenon of the
conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn; it will be hundreds of years until those living
in Earth can see Jupiter and Saturn this close to one another again. However, there are some even more “truly
strange and very rare phenomena” that can be observed in our night sky. The only problem is that in order to observe
this phenomena, you’ll need access to Hubble.
An Einstein ring, is created when light from a galaxy or star
passes by a massive object en route to the Earth. Due to gravitational lensing,
the light is diverted, making it seem to come from different places. If source,
lens, and observer are all aligned, the light appears as a ring.
An international team of astronomers has confirmed the most-distant known galaxy is, in fact, a mind-boggling 13.4 billion light years away, indicating it was shining just 400 million years or so after the Big Bang. As an added bonus, the team spotted the brief ultraviolet flare of a powerful gamma ray burst in the remote galaxy, a phenomenon never before seen in the extremely early universe. “The more we learn about the universe’s earliest objects, the better we can understand how the structure of our cosmos was shaped,” said Carnegie researcher. The observations are described in two papers published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
Today
[28.12.2020] is day 4 of Irapathu Uthsavam ~ on all days of
Irapathu, Swami Nammalwar accompanies Sri Parthasarathi. Today in addition – it
is Sri Anjaneyar too as today is celebrated
at Hanuman Jayanthi, the birthday of Lord Aanjaneya. Though Hanumath
Jayanthi is celebrated on various dates at various places, at Thiruvallikkeni
divyadesam, it is celebrated on chathurthasi / Pournami and would fall on
4th day of Irapathu
Uthsavam. This year it was celebrated on
9th Jan 2020 too.
Think about Hanuman, what strikes immediately is his
unparallelled devotion for Lord Rama and his unrivalled physical
strength. Hanumar, by various names Aanjaneyar, Chiranjeevi, Vayu
Puthirar, Anjani Mainthan is associated with celibary, wrestling, physical
power, intense concentration, mental toughness, single minded devotion and
more. Hanumar is remembered for his spirit of ‘selfless service’; and is
believed to be present wherever, whenever there is recitation of the name of
Lord Rama. Hanumath Jayanthi is celebrated in various time of year in
various places.
At
Thiruvallikeni divyadesam, there is sannathi of Pavana guru Hanumar
right in front of Lord Rama and is on the way to the Moolavar Sri
Venkatakrishnan sannathi. This Aanjaneyar has purappadu
once in a year and hence rare to get his darshan on the thiruveethi and
photograph him too. Rarer still is the kulakkarai
Anjaneyar. The sannathi for siriya thiruvadi at East Tank Square St
is attached to the Temple. In every purappadu, there would be sri sadagopam
maryathai for Anjaneya too. This Hanumar never comes out and hence
more tougher to have a photograph, perhaps the only occasion being His
balalayam for renovation when he comes to the main temple and goes back on
Samprokshanam day.
At a
period when there were none in existence – nobody else - any
God, Devas, earthly humans, other living 0rganisms, and nothing existed – Sriman
Narayana, created Brahma and with him the other Gods, Devas, Worlds, all
living things. When that supreme Lord stands as Aathippiran at
Thirukkurugur where jewelled houses rise like mountains; is there is
sense or need to think of any other God as savior ? - asks
Nammalwar.
Recently
there was some news that a man in Rajasthan's Ajmer 'gifted' his wife three
acres of land on the Moon on their eighth wedding anniversary. There had been news of Sushant Singh Rajput,
Shah Rukh Khan and other celebrities buying part of Moon too .. But, is it possible to buy a plot of land on
the Moon that all of us crave?
The answer
is no. - because, in 1967, the Soviet Union, the United
States and the United Kingdom came up with an international treaty, called the
Outer Space Treaty, to prevent "a new form of colonial competition". There
are 109 countries, including India, who are signatories the Outer Space Treaty. The Outer Space Treaty aims to prevent any
possible damage that self-seeking exploitation might cause.
Here are some photos of Irapathu purappadu at Thiruvallikkeni & Sri Aanjaneyar taken in earlier years.
