On Independence Day [15th
Aug 2012], the National flag was hoisted at SYMA medical centre. That day being ‘Punarpoosam’ nakshathiram had
the fortune of worshipping at Maduramangalam – the birthplace of our Acharyar
‘Embar’ – who followed Swami Ramanuja Acharya like his shadow. Later returned to Sri Perumpudur.
Sri Perumpudur is the most divine
place for us – for this is the place where our Greatest Acharyar ‘Sri
Ramanujar’ famously known as ‘Emperumanaar, Bashyakarar, Udayavar, Yathirajar,
Ilaya Perumal’ and more… the reincarnation of Aadi Sesha and Sri Lakshmanar was
born. Sri Ramanuja was born in the year
1017 heere at Sriperumbudur to Kesava Somayaji and
Gandhimathi couples. His uncle was Sri
Tirumalai Nambi who did great kainkaryam
at Thirumala. Arising out of his ascetic
prowess, he is hailed as Yathi Raja – the King of all ascetics. “Anujan” means younger brother. Ramanuja’s avtar is attributed to Sri
Lakshmana the younger brother of Lord Rama and as , Sri Lakshmana himself,
Ramanuja represents the divine Adisesha. Worshipping Sri Ramanujar at this temple
will cure us of all sins.
Being ‘Aadi Punarvasu’ - Sri Rama with Seetha and Lakshmanar on both
sides had purappadu. One would feel
divinely blessed to have the darshan of the Greatest Warrior with Bow – One who
would do everything to keep up His words – ‘Sree Rama Piran’.
In the veedhi purappadu, ‘Perumal
Thirumozhi’ of Sri Kulasekara Azhwar was rendered. Srivaikuntavasi His Hoilness Sri Varada
Yathiraja Jeear Swamigal adorned the Divyaprabandha goshti.
At Sriperumpudur – the
paraphernalia comprising Bull, Camel and
Elephant – all add to the regal Perumal procession. Here are some photos taken during Sri Ramar
purappadu
Adiyen Srinivasa dhasan.
