Thiruvallikkeni Vasanthothsavam 2 - 04062022

Now is the time for the 7 day Vasanthothsavam at Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam and today 4^th June 2022  is day 2.  ‘Vasantham ‘ is a season – a pleasant one at that.  Vasantham corresponds to Spring season.  While they have only 4 seasons in the West, we have six seasons.  Here it is Vasantha Ruthu also known as ‘Ilavenil’. Spring is the season of new beginnings. Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken and the earth seems to come to life again. Farmers and gardeners plant their seeds and temperatures slowly rise. The timing of these changes varies depending upon location. Animals that spent the winter in hibernation come out of their dens, while those that travelled to warmer regions return. Many animals give birth in the spring.  

Today is day 2  of Vasantha Uthsavam  for Sri Parthasarathi Swami and there was periya mada veethi purappadu  at  Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam with arulicheyal rendering of Irandam thiruvanthathi of Boothathazhwar.

 There is nothing  impossible for the devotee who has sought refuge in Sriman Narayana.  He accepts all with love just as He did for that elephant Gajendra. That beautiful white elephant battling life, yet offered flowers, bowed low and attained desired fruit by surrendering to Sriman Narayana.   

A couple of decades ago – Sri Parthasarathi would visit Vasantha bungalow, have thirumanjanam, Unjal, ulpurappadu  and return – sadly, not any longer.  Here are some photos taken by me  during today’s purappadu.
