பௌர்ணமி தினம் சிறப்பானது. நகரத்தின் ஒளி சிதறல்கள் [city light refractions] இல்லாத கிராமத்துக்கு சென்று இரவு நேரத்தில் வெளியே நடக்கும் போது பூர்ண சந்திரனையும், நக்ஷத்திரங்களையும் ரசிப்பது ஒரு தனி சுக அனுபவம். பங்குனி மாதம் வரும் உத்திரம் கல்யாண விரத நாள். ஆண்டாள்- ரங்கமன்னார், திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் ஸ்ரீவேதவல்லி மன்னாதர் திருக்கல்யாணங்களும் நடைபெறுகின்றன.
திருவாலி தமிழ்நாட்டின் சீர்காழி ஊராட்சி ஒன்றியத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு கிராமம். இவ்வூரும் இதற்கு 5 கிமீ தொலைவிலுள்ள திருநகரியும் இணைந்து ஸ்ரீவைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில் ஒன்றாக திருவாலி, திருநகரி என அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. திருமங்கை ஆழ்வார் வைபவம் நாம் அனைவரும் அறிந்ததே ! திருவல்லிக்கேணி ப்ரஹ்மோத்சவத்தில் எட்டாம் நாள் இரவு கலியன் வைபவம் பற்றி அடியேனும் எழுதி இருக்கிறேன்.
திருமாலின் வில்லான ஸார்ங்கத்தின் அம்சமாய், சோழ நாட்டில் திருமங்கை என்னும் பகுதியில், திருவாலி என்ற (திருநகரி) திவ்யதேசத்தின் அருகே உள்ள திருக்குறையலூரில் கலியுகத்தில் 398ஆவதான நள வருடத்தில் பௌர்ணமி திதி அன்று, வியாழக்கிழமை, கிருத்திகை நட்சத்திரம் ஆகியவை பொருந்திய கார்த்திகை மாதத்தில் ஒருவர் சோழ அரசனின் சேனைத் தலைவர்களில் ஒருவருக்கு மகனாகப் பிறந்த இவர் "நீலன்" என்று நிறம் கொண்டு பெயரிடப்பட்டார்.
திருநகரியில் மூலவர்: வேதராஜன் (வயலாலி மணவாளன்) வீற்றிருந்த திருக்கோலம், மேற்கே திருமுக மண்டலம். உற்சவர் ஸ்ரீ திருவாலி நகராளன் (கல்யாண ரங்கநாதன்); தாயார் ஸ்ரீ அம்ருத கட வல்லி, ஸ்ரீ பூர்ணவல்லி, அம்ருத வல்லி. இவ்வெம்பெருமானுக்கு திருவாலியில் அற்புதமாக திருக்கல்யாண வைபவம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. அங்கிருந்து இரவு 9 மணியளவில் எம்பெருமான் திருமணக்கோலத்தில் மணவாளனாக திருமணங்கொல்லை எனும் வேதராஜபுரத்திற்கு இத்தலத்திற்கு எழுந்தருளி பல்லக்கில் புறப்பாடு கண்டருளும் பொது, திருமங்கையாழ்வார் மறித்து வழிப்பறி நடத்த, எம்பெருமான் கலியனின் செவிகளில் அஷ்டாக்ஷர மந்திரத்தை உபதேசம் செய்து திருத்தி பணி கொள்கிறார். வேதராஜபுரத்தில் ஆண்டுதோறும் பங்குனி உத்திர முதல் நாள் இரவு திருமங்கை மன்னன் ஸ்ரீவயலாளி மணவாளப் பெருமானை வழிமறித்து திருவேடுபறி நடத்தி திருமந்திர உபதேசம் பெறும் விழா சிறப்பாக நடைபெறுகிறது. வேடுபறி மண்டபம் என்று வேடுபறி (எம்பெருமானிடம் திருமங்கைமன்னன் கொள்ளையிட்ட இடத்தில்) நடந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு மண்டபமும் உள்ளது.

Ever wondered what should our Eyes see ! – what is worthy of vision !?!
20/20 vision is a term used to express normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet. A visual acuity of 6/6 is frequently described as meaning that a person can see detail from 6 metres (20 ft) away the same as a person with "normal" eyesight would see from 6 metres. Away scientists are trying to de-ice Euclid's vision from a million miles away.
Euclid, tasked with unveiling the dark Universe's secrets, has encountered a hurdle: microscopic layers of water ice are clouding its view. This challenge, stemming from the spacecraft's exposure to the harsh cold of space, demands unprecedented precision for its mission's success. Efforts are now underway across Europe to implement a novel de-icing procedure designed to restore Euclid's clarity and maintain its optical systems for the duration of its orbital life. Similar to how drivers remove ice from their car windshields in winter, the European Space Agency's (ESA) scientists are embarking on a unique mission to "de-ice" the Euclid observatory's telescope mirrors, situated over a million miles from Earth. These ice layers, though only as thick as a strand of DNA, have led to "a small but progressive decrease" in starlight detection, as noted by ESA in a recent announcement.
In humans and a number of other mammals, light enters the eye through the cornea and is focused by the lens onto the retina, a light-sensitive membrane at the back of the eye. The retina serves as a transducer for the conversion of light into neuronal signals. This transduction is achieved by specialized photoreceptive cells of the retina, also known as the rods and cones, which detect the photons of light and respond by producing neural impulses. These signals are transmitted by the optic nerve, from the retina upstream to central ganglia in the brain. Complex !!
Vision is the complex, multipart process that gives you your sense of sight. Vision itself doesn’t happen in your eyes. Instead, it’s the sum of your eyes, retinas, optic nerves and brain working together to process reflected light from the world around you. Vision is the process where your eyes and brain work together and use light reflecting off things around you to create the ability to see. Vision starts when your eyes detect light and turn it into coded nerve signals, which then travel through your optic nerves to your brain. Your brain receives and decodes the signals, and turns them into the pictures you see.

Read elsewhere that the historical Hakka village of Xiahu in Ganzhou, east China's Jiangxi Province, which boasts numerous ancient buildings and ancestral halls, has proven popular among tourists, especially since the splendid blooming of rapeseed flowers in the area this spring. The rapeseed flowers in the village have appeared in colors of gold, pink, red, orange, and more, complementing the backdrop of the village's ancient buildings. It is truly a remarkable sight.
Back home in neighbouring state, a video of MP Kesineni Nani refusing to give a flower boquet to TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu on his visit to Delhi, went viral. While MP Galla Jayadev attempted to hand over the bouquet to Nani, suggesting he present it to Chandrababu, Nani was seen discarding it. That time there were opinions that Nani acted out of resentment towards Chandrababu. Seasoned Kesineni Nani however denied it. ஆயர் பெருமானாய் நமக்கு அற்புத சேவை சாதித்தார்.
During this Thavanothsavam, Perumal comes to Thavana Uthsava
bungalow in the morning, has Thirumanjanam and takes rest under the roof
made of thavanam – an aromatic herb. Dhavanam (Tamil: தவனம்) [Artemisia pallens], is
an aromatic herb, in genus of small herbs or shrubs, xerophytic in
nature. This herb pervades great aroma and provides coolness.
During the Uthsavam, a kooralam [roof] made of Dhavanam is
set up over the resting place of the Lord. In the evening, occurs purappadu
inside the bungalow, thence – periya mada veethi purappadu back to the
temple.

A Science article read : Artabotrys odoratissimus inhibitory effect on mild steel (MS) corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution has been assessed utilizing mass loss, electrochemical potentiodynamic polarization, and impedance spectroscopy techniques. The Artabotrys odoratissimus plant has a wide range of bioactive compounds.
Another one in a Medicinal journal reads : The A. hexapetalus extract was found to possess a quite good amount of phenolics, flavonoids, and tannins. This extract also revealed good radical scavenging effects along with ferric chloride-reducing capabilities. In the analgesic tests, the extract showed excellent responses in writhing inhibition and elongation in tail withdrawal time. The extract also significantly lessened paw edema over time at both doses. A notable decrease in body temperature was also observed. Those responses revealed nice pharmacological potentialities. Our analysis revealed that A. hexapetalus leaves are highly enriched with antioxidants and the extract showed good pharmacological characteristics.
Artabotrys hexapetalus may not strike a bell ! would Hari Champa do ? - for sure its common name “Mano Ranjini” would. Hari Champa has absolutely intoxicating fragrance! This species is native to India and tropical Asia. A medium size climbing shrub 8-10 ft, producing flowers that are greenish in color and fade to yellow with age, and are extremely fragrant. Once picked they are very long lasting and hold their scent for days, if kept in water, permeating an entire room. Flowers have three outer and three inner greenish yellow petals - hence the name hexapetalus. It is a fruity sweet smell - the Manipuri name Chini Champra, meaning sugar lemon.

hexapetalus, the climber, is a shrub found in India through to Burma, southern
China and Taiwan, having flowers that are renowned for their exotic fragrance.
It is also called ylang-ylang vine or tail grape in English, with a variety of
names in other languages. The fragrant flowers are greenish in the
beginning and turn yellow with age. They are long lasting with a fruity
pleasant smell. Its flowers are axillary,
solitary, or in clusters of two or three, greenish yellow in color when ripe
and give a strong smell resembling that of ripened jackfruit. Hence its name in
Bengali is 'Kanthali champa' (jackfruit-champa). It flowers almost all year but
more during the summer and the rains.
