புனித புரட்டாசி மாச சனிக்கிழமை - கோவிந்தனின் நாமம் பாடுவோம் !

 

நினைப்பதை நடத்தி வைப்பாய் வைகுந்தா

மறைத்ததை பறித்திடுவாய் கோவிந்தா

உரைத்தது கீதை என்ற தத்துவமே

அதை உணர்ந்தவர் வாழ்ந்திடுவார் சத்தியமே

 

திருப்பதி மலைவாழும் வெங்கடேசா !

திருமகள் மனம் நாடும் சீனிவாசா;  ஏழுமலை வாசா !!

 இன்று 18.09.2024  திருவல்லிக்கேணி திருப்பவித்ரோத்சவத்தில் ஆறாம் நாள்.

 

Ever wondered what is the purpose of life ? ~ why were we born .. why did Emperuman bless us with good hands, legs and tongue ? – what are we to do with the members of the body ??  

மன்னு முழுவேழுலகும் வயிற்றினுள் கொண்ட ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனை எவ்வாறு அழைத்து களிப்புறுவீர் ? .. மாதவா, கேசவா, வாமனா, மதுசூதனா, நாராயணா, வாசுதேவா, புருடோத்தமா ... .. என நினைவுகள் விரியலாம்.  நம் சுவாமி நம்மாழ்வார் அனுபவித்து "என்னுள் கலந்தவன்’ என்று ஒரு திருநாமம் சாற்றுகிறார்.  

 

Our civilization existed thousands of years ago, colonization took place a few hundreds ago, those who came here for trade, called themselves modern and we are aping the traditions of the Western World.  They did not come here to reform us, they looted all our wealth and ensured that we remained slaves !!  It is Europe that practised inhuman slavery and believed in witchcraft !!! 

To the Western World, the emphasis is on different things, that we should only consider insignificant.  Among the many is – witchcraft or sorcery.  Witchcraft, as most commonly understood in both historical and present-day communities, is the use of alleged supernatural powers of magic. A witch is a practitioner of witchcraft. Traditionally, "witchcraft" means the use of magic or supernatural powers to inflict harm or misfortune on others.  According to Encyclopedia Britannica, "Witchcraft thus defined exists more in the imagination of contemporaries than in any objective reality. Yet this stereotype has a long history and has constituted for many cultures a viable explanation of evil in the world”. 

In Europe, belief in witchcraft traces back to classical antiquity. In medieval and early modern Europe, accused witches were usually women who were believed to have used black magic or maleficium against their own community. Usually, accusations of witchcraft were made by their neighbors and followed from social tensions. Witches were sometimes said to have communed with evil beings.  Medieval Europe saw the Latin legal term maleficium applied to forms of sorcery or witchcraft that were conducted with the intention of causing harm.   

The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 200 people were accused. Thirty people were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging (fourteen women and five men). One other man, Giles Corey, died under torture after refusing to enter a plea, and at least five people died in the disease-ridden jails. Arrests were made in numerous towns beyond Salem Village (known today as Danvers) and its regional center Salem Town.  It was the deadliest witch hunt in the history of colonial North America.   

The episode is one of colonial America's most notorious cases of mass hysteria. It was not unique, but a colonial manifestation of the much broader phenomenon of witch trials in the early modern period, which took the lives of tens of thousands in Europe. Alse Young Windsor, Connecticut —was the first recorded instance of execution for witchcraft in the thirteen American colonies. She had one child, Alice Beamon (Young), born in 1640, who was also condemned for the same crime thirty years later   but was not hanged. 

For us such  things do not  impact or cause worry .. ..  we are blessed with the good heart supported by strong and good faculty of hands, legs, mouth, tongue  with its faculty of speech – all provided for the purpose of praising our Emperuman Sriman Narayanan all the time and to those who do not indulge in such practices despite have strong limbs, we should feel sad for such people  who make no effort to praise the Lord  get to accrue further Karmas by their act of non-performance !. 

‘நம்மை எம்பெருமானான ஈச்வரன் படைத்தது எதற்கு ? நமக்குக் கைகால், வாய், மூக்கு, நாக்கு போன்ற அங்க அவயங்களை நல்லபடி தந்தது எதற்கு ??   ~  எந்த  ஆராய்ச்சியும்  தேவையில்லை.  பகவத் விஷயத்திலே பல்லாண்டு பாடி எம்பெருமானை துதிப்பதே நம் வாழ்க்கை வழிமுறை என்கிறார் சுவாமி நம்மாழ்வார் தமது 'பெரிய திருவந்தாதியில்".  

வகைசேர்ந்த நல் நெஞ்சும் நாவுடைய வாயும்*

மிகவாய்ந்து வீழா எனிலும்* -மிகவாய்ந்து

மாலைத்தாம் வாழ்த்தாதிருப்பர் இதுவன்றே?

மேலைத்தாம் செய்யும் வினை*

 

                         ஞானத்தினால் எம்பெருமானை அடைந்து உய்வதற்கு  மார்க்கமாக ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிற நல்ல நெஞ்சும், எம்பெருமானை  நன்றாகக்கிட்டி அநுபவிக்காவிட்டாலும்,  இப்புவியில்  சேதநராயப் பிறந்திருக்கிற தாங்கள், நன்றாக ஆராய்ச்சி பண்ணி எம்பெருமானைப் போற்றிப்  பேசுவதற்கு இயல்பான  நாவோடு கூடிய வாக்கும் கிடைக்கப்பெற்றும், எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனை  வாழ்த்தாமல் வெறுமனே இருப்பவர்கள், இனி எஞ்சி இருக்கக்கூடிய  காலமும் கெட்டுப் போவதற்காகத் தாங்கள் செய்து கொள்ளுகிற பாவமன்றோ இது - என அங்கலாய்க்கிறார் சுவாமி நம்மாழ்வார் தமது பெரிய திருவந்தாதி பாசுரத்திலே ! 

.. .. திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்யக்ஷேத்திரத்தில்  இன்று பவித்ரோத்சவத்தின் ஆறாம் நாள். பல்வேறு உத்சவங்களில் ஆவணி மாதம் நிகழும் பவித்ரோத்சவம் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தது. பவித்ரம் என்ற சொல்லுக்கு 'சுத்தம் அதாவது பரிபூரணமான அப்பழுக்கு இல்லாத ஒன்று' என்று பொருள் கொள்ளலாம்.   இன்று மாலை நம் ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள், பெரிய  அழகு மலர் மாலையுடன், கிரீடம்,  புதுப்பூணூல் சாற்றிக்கொண்டு அற்புத புறப்பாடு கண்டு அருளினார். இன்றைய படங்களிலே பெருமாள் பல வண்ணப் பட்டு மாலைகள் அணிந்து இருப்பதை சேவிக்கலாம். இவை பவித்ரம் என்று அழைக்கப்படுபவை.
