இன்று ஹிந்துக்களுக்கு ஒரு நற்செய்தி.  கார்த்திகைத் திருநாளையொட்டி மதுரை திருப்பரங்குன்றம் மலையில் தீபம் ஏற்ற  நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.  மேலும் அந்த விழாவிற்கு காவல் துறை முழு பாதுகாப்பு வழங்க உயர் நீதிமன்ற மதுரை கிளை உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது. மதுரை எழுமலையைச் சேர்ந்த ராமரவிக்குமார் தொடர்ந்த வழக்கில் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது பிள்ளையார் கோவில் தீப மண்டபத்தில் கார்த்திகை தீபம் ஏற்றுவது ஏற்கத்தக்கதல்ல என மனு தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்த நிலையில், இன்று உத்தரவு பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என தமிழ் செய்தி தாள்களும், ஆங்கில செய்தி நிறுவனங்களும் தெரிவிக்கின்றன..

 

On the outskirts of Madurai, roughly eight kilometers from the city lies one of the most prominent  Saivaite religious shrines -  Thiruparankundram Murugan. It is among the six abodes of Lord Murugan, called Arupadaiveedu as a whole. The temple was built by the Pandyas during the eighth century by a single mountain carving out the rocks, which add to its overall magnetism. It is here that  Shanmugar married Deivayanai, the princess of heaven and the divine daughter of Lord Indra after slaying the demon king Surapadman. So, this temple is considered one of the most promising places for marriages.   

Thiruparankundram and its landmark hill contains some of the earliest cave temples of Shaivism tradition in this region. The hill is sacred -  Kandhamalai (lit. "hill of Kandha (Murugan, Kartikeya) – the god of war").  The temple complex is Thirupparamkunram Murugan temple, one of the Six Abodes of Murugan (Aru padai veedu).  

The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on Friday reserved orders on a batch of petitions filed over the location chosen by the Subramaniya Swamy temple administration for lighting Karthigai Deepam at Thiruparankundram hill on December 3. The petitioners challenged the decision of temple administration to light the Karthigai Deepam at the 'usual' location - Deepa Mandapam near the Uchipillaiyar temple on the hill. They alleged that the said mandapam is used to light 'Moksha Deepam' and the same spot cannot be used for Karthigai Deepam. They claimed that the ritual traditionally took place on an ancient stone pillar (Deepa Thoon) located more than 15 metres away from the Sikandar Badusha Dargah on the hilltop, saying it would make the deepam more visible. 

HR&CE while arguing against,  admitted that the stone pillar was covered by the temple authorities since it was not being used. Addl AG for the State said  rituals for lighting the deepam have begun and the public have been informed that the deepam would be lit in Uchipillaiyar temple mandapam . No changes can be proposed at this stage, he added.  

Recently, Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court delivered its third-judge ruling on the Thiruparankundram Hillock dispute, settling the split verdict delivered in June this year. Justice GR Vijayakumar, the third judge nominated to decide the matter, largely concurred with the views of Justice S Srimathy, affirming that the name of the hillock shall remain Thiruparankundram Hill and not Sikkandar Malai.

The judgment resolved three contentious issues - the name of the hillock, the practice of animal sacrifice at the Sikkandar Badusha Dargah, and the right of Muslims to offer prayers at the Nellithoppu area. 

Justice Vijayakumar noted that revenue and archaeological records, including a 1908 and a 1923 Gazette notification under the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, identify the area as Thiruparankundram Rock. The notifications declare 172.2 acres of the hill as protected monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Citing these records and the 1920 civil court decree, the judge held that referring to the hill as Sikkandar Malai was "mischievous" and amounted to an attempt to alter its historical name. The judge also observed that Arulmigu Subramaniaswamy Temple at the foothills is the owner of the entire Thiruparankundram Hill except for two portions - the Sikkandar Badhusha Avuliya Dargah at the southern peak and the Nellithoppu area midway - which earlier civil court decrees had recognised as belonging to the Mohammedans. The Dargah and Nellithoppu areas together form only a small part of the 172-acre hill, with Nellithoppu itself measuring about 33 cents. 

The Judgement further cleared that  no animal sacrifice can be permitted on the hillock, citing that there was no documentary proof showing animal sacrifice as a long-standing or essential religious practice at the Dargah. The court held that even if the dargah administration claims animal sacrifice as a religious custom, it must establish this before a competent civil court. Until such a decision is made, no animal sacrifice, cooking, or serving of non-vegetarian food would be allowed anywhere on the hill.  The Court permitted Muslims to offer prayers in the Nellithoppu area during Ramzan and Bakrid alone, subject to strict conditions. The  steps, which also lead to the Kasi Vishwanathar Temple atop the hill, must not be obstructed or defiled.

Thiruvallikkeni Kodai 2025 ~ இமையோர் தலைவா மெய்நின்று கேட்டருளாய், !!

Ever heard of "Shrotriem"  !  -   a term rooted in traditional land grants, typically involving the transfer of land revenue rights  as a form of honor or reward.  

Chennai is still reeling under hot and humid conditions.  After a hot day with temperatures inching close to 40°C, city residents found little relief at night, as warm early morning hours felt like an extension of a summer afternoon.  Meteorologists attribute the sweaty days and nights to dry weather and high-altitude cloud cover. This pattern is expected to continue over the next few days, although there are expectations of  isolated evening thunderstorms that would bring brief relief.  

Almost a century ago - the case of V. Seethaya And Others v. P. Subramanya Somayajulu And Another adjudicated by the Privy Council on February 14, 1929,  stood  as a significant judicial decision in the realm of land revenue laws and jurisdictional authority. It was a  consolidated appeal arising  from eleven suits of ejectment primarily questioning the jurisdiction of civil courts over revenue courts in matters pertaining to land grants.  

The history of Chennapatnam aka Madras (Chennai) is traced back to Aug  1639 when East India Company bought a piece of land from the ruling Nayaks and built the Fort, much less than its present size.   Much prior existed our Thiruvallikkeni [twisted as Triplicane]  which in some places is described as ‘shrotriem’ which according to Wilson's Glossary, means "a grant of lands or a village held at favourable rate, properly an assignment of land or revenue to a Brahmin learned in the Vedas but latterly applied to similar assignments to native Servants of Government, Civil or Military, as a reward for past services.  

Central to the dispute cited in that 1929 case  was the interpretation of the Madras Estates Land Act, 1908, specifically Section 189, which delineates the exclusive jurisdiction of revenue courts in certain land-related suits. The appellants contested this provision, leading to protracted litigation spanning over a decade. The parties involved included landholders, revenue officers, and Brahmin grantees, with the crux of the matter focusing on the nature of the original land grant and its implications on jurisdiction.  A pivotal component was the interpretation of "shrotriem," traditionally understood as a revenue assignment to Brahmins or government servants. However, the Council posited that in this context, the term, especially as reiterated in the grant’s final recital, unambiguously referred to revenue rights alone.   

 

Another hot day in Chennai ….  Whether it is hot or cold, for us it is always the Lotus Feet of Sriman Narayana which is the shelter.  At Thiruvallikkeni, the Kodai uthsavam is on and today  is day 5 for Sri Parthasarathi.  Today Sri Parthasarathi Emperuman dazzled with Pandiyan kondai and spectre.  -  செங்கோலுடைய திருவரங்க செல்வனார் போன்றே சாற்றுப்படி.  Being the 5^th day  - it was Nammalwar’s Thiruvirutham in the goshti.  Swami Nammazhwar starts this divyaprabandham stating:

 

பொய் நின்ற ஞானமும்  பொல்லா ஒழுக்கும்  அழுக்குடம்பும்,

இந்நின்ற நீர்மை இனியாமுறாமை, உயிரளிப்பான்

எந்நின்றயோனியுமாய்ப் பிறந்தாயிமையோர் தலைவா

மெய்நின்று கேட்டருளாய்,  அடியேன்செய்யும் விண்ணப்பமே.

 

Though one bestowed with great knowledge and more importantly the chosen one by Emperuman, Nammalwar still expresses his humility stating that we possess knowledge which is of no good, we possess no discipline, we are born in womb and are dirty -  and for protecting souls like us, the greatest Lord of Celestials takes birth to guide us and lead us to salvation.  Azhwar prays to Lord seeking His attention and beseeching grant that one may not be born again in state of faulty knowledge, wicked actions and filth-ridden body.  The posterity knows that Azhwar was granted all wishes and was taken along by Perumal – for us the path is certain and easy – follow what Azhwar did and surrender to the Lotus feet of Emperuman.

Thiruvallikkeni Aani Thiruvonam purappadu 2022 - ஆழி - எனும் சொல் பல்பொருள் ஒரு மொழி

ஆழி -  எனும் சொல் பல்பொருள் ஒரு மொழி ஆகும். இதற்கு :  கடல்; கடற்கரை; அரசனின் ஆணைச் சக்கரம் ;   மோதிரம்; சக்கரம்; வட்டம்; கட்டளை என பல அர்த்தங்கள் உண்டு.  ஆழி என்பதற்கு ’பரந்து விரிந்த’ ’அளவிடமுடியாத’ என்பது முதன்மை  பொருள்.  இதனாலேயே   கடலுக்கு ஆழி எனப் பெயர் வந்தது.  திருவாரூரில் உள்ள திருத்தேர்  அளவில் பெரியதும், புராணம், வரலாற்று பெருமை மிக்கதுவாகும்.    பண்டைக்காலத்தில் திருவாரூர் தியாகேசப் பெருமான் தேருக்கு எழுந்தருளும்போது பொன்பூ, வெள்ளிப்பூக்களை வாரி இறைப்பதாகக் கூறுவர். பொன்பரப்பிய திருவீதி என்று ஒரு வீதிக்கு உள்ள பெயரை வைத்து இதனை உணரலாம். அடிக்கோராயிரம் பொன் சின்னங்கள் கூற அளிப்பார் என்று திருவாரூர்க் கோவையும், உய்யும்படி பசும்பொன் ஓராயிரம் உகந்து பெய்யும் தியாகப்பெருமானே என்று திருவாரூர் உலாவும் இதன் சிறப்பைக் கூறுகின்றன.  பெரிய தேரை இழுக்க 12,000 தேவைப்பட்டனர் என குறிப்புகள் உள்ளன. 

இச்சொல் சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஒரு வழக்கு பொருளானது விந்தையே !  .. .. சில வருடங்கள் முன்னர், மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கான, ஆசிரியர் தகுதித் தேர்வில், ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட கேள்விக்கு, இரண்டு விடைகளில் ஏதாவது ஒன்றை அளித்திருந்தால், அதற்கு மதிப்பெண் வழங்கும்படி, சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டது.   'கடலை மட்டும் குறிக்காத சொல்லை கண்டெடு' என்ற கேள்விக்கு, 'ஆழி' என, பதில் அளிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

நமது வாழ்க்கை எளிமையானது .. பரம்பொருளான ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணனை மட்டுமே சுற்றி வருவது.  எம்பெருமானே ஆழிப்பிரான்  -  எம்பெருமான்  திருவவதரிக்கும்போதே கையுந்திருவாழியுமாய்த் திருவவதரித்து, பிறகு பாரதப்போரில் ‘ஆயுதமெடேன்’ என்று சொல்லிவைத்தும் ஆச்ரிதபக்ஷபாதத்தாலே ஆயுதமெடுத்தும் காரியம் செய்தருளினவன்.  இதோ இங்கே ஸ்வாமி நம்மாழ்வாரின் திருவாய்மொழி பாசுரத்திலே ரசமான ஒன்று :  

ஆளும் பரமனைக் கண்ணனை ஆழிப் பிரான்றன்னை,

தோளுமோர் நான்குடைத் தூமணி வண்ணனெம்மான்  தன்னை

தாளும் தடக்கையும் கூப்பிப் பணியும் அவர்க்கண்டீர்,

நாளும் பிறப்பிடை தோறு எம்மையாளுடை நாதரே.  

ஆள்கின்ற பரம புருஷனாகவும் ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணனாகவும்  திருவாழியாழ்வானையுடைய  உபகாரகனாயும்,  ஒப்பற்ற நான்கு புஜங்களையுடையவனாயும்  பரிசுத்தமான நீலமணி போன்ற நிறத்தை  உடையவனாயுமிருக்கின்ற எம்பெருமானை, தாளும் தடக்கையும் கூப்பி  வணங்குகின்றவர்கள்  - எல்லா ஜென்மங்களிலும்,  தினந்தோறும் எங்களை ஆட்கொள்ளும் அடிகளாவர் என திருமாலடியார் தம் சிறப்பை உரைக்கின்றார் நம்மாழ்வார்.

What is life ?  - how to make a living ?? – ever wondered on these ? – is there life outside our Planet earth ??  

The United States Supreme Court on Friday (June 24) overturned by a 6-3 majority ‘Roe v. Wade’, the court’s landmark 1973 judgment – interested in knowing, what was that about !!  

Often we hear about – ‘work-life balance’. Striking the perfect work-life balance is a daunting task for many of us, but it seems residents of Oslo have found the solution. According to a recent survey by software company Kisi, the capital of Norway is the best city in the world for a healthy work-life balance. The city clinched the very top spot from its second-place ranking last year. The list included 100 cities around the world where residents can achieve a healthy work-life balance. The cities on the list were ranked on multiple factors including work intensity, institutional support, legislation, and livability, in the current context of rampant inflation and fallout from the pandemic and Russia-Ukraine War. Under work intensity, factors like remote jobs, overworked population, minimum vacations offered days, vacations taken days, unemployment, multiple jobholders, inflation, and paid parental leave days were also considered.  

Life, is the  condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms.  By some definition, ‘Living species’ are the one that are not  extinct.  

Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that have biological processes, such as signaling and self-sustaining processes, from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased (they have died) or because they never had such functions and are classified as inanimate.  Biology is the science that studies life.  

More than 15 months after landing in Jezero Crater on Mars, NASA’s Perseverance rover has finally begun its hunt for ancient life in earnest. On 28 May, Perseverance ground a 5-centimetre-wide circular patch into a rock at the base of what was once a river delta in the crater. This delta formed billions of years ago, when a long-vanished river deposited layers of sediment into Jezero, and it is the main reason that NASA sent the rover there. On Earth, river sediment is usually teeming with life. Way back in Aug 1996, reporters, photographers and television camera operators surged into NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C. The crowd focused not on the row of seated scientists in NASA’s auditorium but on a small, clear plastic box on the table in front of them. Inside the box was a velvet pillow, and nestled on it like a crown jewel was a rock—from Mars. The scientists announced that they’d found signs of life inside the meteorite.  The rock, the researchers explained, had formed 4.5 billion years ago on Mars, where it remained until 16 million years ago, when it was launched into space, probably by the impact of an asteroid.  

Despite Schopf’s note of skepticism, the NASA announcement was trumpeted worldwide. “Mars lived, rock shows Meteorite holds evidence of life on another world,” said the New York Times. “Fossil from the red planet may prove that we are not alone,” declared The Independent of London.   If all goes as planned, a new generation of rovers will arrive on Mars within the next decade. These missions will incorporate cutting-edge biotechnology designed to detect individual molecules made by Martian organisms, either living or long dead.  

Moving away from life in other planets, back in Mother Earth, the  United States Supreme Court on Friday (June 24) overturned by a 6-3 majority ‘Roe v. Wade’, the court’s landmark 1973 judgment that made abortion a constitutional right. The decision — an early draft of which was scooped by ‘Politico’ on May 3 — will transform life for women in America. Near total bans on abortion will come into effect in about half of the country’s states.  The case is sometimes referred to simply as “Roe”, the listed name of the 22-year-old plaintiff, Norma McCorvey. ‘Wade’ was the defendant Henry Wade, the Dallas County (Texas) district attorney at the time. The US Supreme Court on Friday ended the right to abortion in a seismic ruling that shreds half a century of constitutional protections on one of the most divisive and bitterly fought issues in American political life. "The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives," the court said. In the majority opinion, Justice Samuel Alito said "abortion presents a profound moral issue on which Americans hold sharply conflicting views.  The ruling will likely set into motion a cavalcade of new laws in roughly half of the 50 US states that will severely restrict or outright ban and criminalize abortions, forcing women to travel long distances to states that still permit the procedure !!  

ஸ்ரீவைணவன் எப்படி வாழ வேண்டும் ? - உய்வதற்கான வழி யாது ?? - தமிழ் தலைவன் பேயாழ்வாரின் அமுத வரிகளில் மூன்றாம் திருவந்தாதி பாடல் இங்கே  : 

வாழும் வகையறிந்தேன் மைபோல் நெடுவரைவாய்,

தாழும் அருவிபோல் தார்கிடப்ப, – சூழும்

திருமா மணிவண்ணன் செங்கண்மால், எங்கள்

பெருமான் அடிசேரப் பெற்று.  - (மூன்றாந் திருவந்தாதி) 

செந்திறமான ரத்னங்களால் அமைக்கப்பட்ட ஹாரங்கள், எம்பெருமானுடைய கரிய திருமேனியிலே   சாத்தப்பட்டிருப்பதானது அஞ்சனகிரியிலே அருவிகள் தாழ விழிந்தாற்போலே  இருக்கின்றனவாம்.  அற்புதமான திருமலையிலே,  இருபக்கமும் தாழ விழிந்து பாய்கின்ற  அருவிபோலே, சாற்றப்பட்டு இருக்கும் மணமிக்க மாலைகளால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, ஒருக்ஷணமும் விட்டுப்பிரியாமல் வளைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிற பெரியபிராட்டியை உடையவனும், நீலமணிபோன்ற நிறத்தையுடையவனும்,  செந்தாமரை போன்ற திருக்கண்களையுடைய பெரியோனுமான எங்கள் பெருமான் திருவடிகளை அடையப்பெற்றதே, தமக்கு   உஜ்ஜீவிக்கும் வழி  என தெரிந்தவனானேன் என்றுரைக்கின்றார் நம் பேயாழ்வார். . 

அழகான மலர்மாலைகள், நீளமேகம், துரா சந்திர பதக்கங்கள், திருமார்விலே லக்ஷ்மி பதக்கங்கள், காசுமாலை, மயிற்பீலி போன்ற பற்பல திருவாபரணங்களுடன் ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள் அற்புத சேவை சாதித்தார்.  கருங்கண் தோகை மயிற்பீலி அணிந்த ஆயர் பெருமான் -  ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதி இன்று (24.6.2022)  ஆனி மாச கிருஷ்ண பக்ஷ ஏகாதசி புறப்பாட்டில் சேவை !

Collector Office being built at Temple land ! ~ sordid truth at Kallakurichi !!

ஆலயங்கள் நாம் வாழ்வில் இன்றியமையாதவை !..  .. கோவில் இல்லா ஊரில் குடியிருக்க வேண்டாம் என்பது முதுமொழி.  நாட்டை ஆண்ட பல மன்னர்களும், தனவந்தர்களும், நல்லவர்களும் பெரிய கோவில்களை கட்டினர்  ~ காலப்போக்கில் தமிழகத்திலே திருக்கோவில்கள் ஹிந்து அறநிலைய துறை எனும் அரசாங்க கட்டுப்பாட்டினில் வந்தன.  பிற மதத்தவரின் வழிபாட்டு தலங்கள் மட்டும் அந்தந்த மதத்தினாராலேயே நிர்வகிக்கப்படும் போது - ஹிந்து திருக்கோவில்கள் மட்டும் ஏன் அரசாங்கத்தின் கையில் ? - மேலும் அதன் நிர்வாகமும் சீர்கெட்டுள்ளது வேதனை, வேதனை !!

ஒருபக்கம் நிர்வாக சீர்கேடு, மறுபக்கம் ஊழல்கள் !!  ..பெரும்பாலான இடங்களில் கோவில் சொத்துக்கள் ஆக்ரமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.  சட்டவிரோதமான குடியேற்றங்கள் எனவும், குத்தகையை கொடுக்காமலும் திருக்கோவில் சொத்துகள் பாழ்படுகின்றன. . கோவில் சொத்தை குத்தகைக்கு எடுப்பவர்கள்  நிறைய பாக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். தமிழ்நாட்டில் இந்து சமய அறநிலையத்துறை கட்டுப்பாட்டில் மட்டும் 36,606 திருக்கோவில்கள் உள்ளன. இதுமட்டுமல்லாமல், ஏராளமான மடங்கள், அறக்கட்டளைகள், இந்து சமய அறநிலையத்துறை கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் வராத நிறைய கோவில் சொத்துக்கள் இருக்கின்றன. பல தனியார் கோவில்களைக்கட்டி தங்கள் சொத்துக்களை எழுதி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.  திருக்கோவில்களின் வாசலில் 'வாடகை பாக்கியுள்ளோர்' என வைக்கப்படும் தகவல் அறிவிப்புகள் - அந்த பாக்கி வைத்துள்ளோருக்கு அவமானமாக இல்லையா ! ~ வசூலிக்க தவறிய அதிகாரிகளின் நிர்வாக திறமையின்மை அல்லவா !  

கோவில் சொத்துக்களை ஆக்கிரமிப்பு செய்தவர்கள், சட்ட விரோதமாக கோவிலுக்கு சொந்தமான இடங்களில் குடியிருப்பவர்கள், நில மாபியாக்கள் மீது சென்னை ஐகோர்ட்டின் கண்டன பார்வை விழுந்துள்ளது. சமீபத்தில் ஐகோர்ட்டு நீதிபதி எஸ்.எம்.சுப்பிரமணியம் ஒரு வழக்கில், கோவில்கள், அறக்கட்டளைகளுக்கு சொந்தமான சொத்துக்களின் ஆக்கிரமிப்பாளர்கள், சட்ட விரோதமாக குடியேறியவர்கள், நில அபகரிப்பாளர்கள், மாபியாக்கள் போன்ற சட்ட விரோதமாக கோவில் சொத்துக்களை அனுபவித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் மீது உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படவேண்டும். அவர்களை வெளியே அனுப்பி சொத்துக்களை மீட்க தகுந்த நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவேண்டும். நேர்மையான அதிகாரிகள் கொண்ட குழுவை அமைத்து, இதுபோன்ற சட்ட விரோத செயல்களை எல்லாம் கண்டறிந்து, அதற்கு துணைபோன அதிகாரிகள் மீது விசாரணை நடத்த வேண்டும். ஆக்கிரமிப்பாளர்கள் மீது இந்து சமய அறநிலையத்துறை ஆணையர் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவேண்டும் என்று உத்தரவிட்டதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், இந்துசமய அறநிலையத்துறை இணையதளத்தில் குத்தகைக்கு எடுத்திருப்பவர்கள் பற்றிய விவரம், குத்தகை காலம், அதற்கான குத்தகை மற்றும் வாடகை தொகை எவ்வளவு? என்பதை குறிப்பிட வேண்டும் என்று கூறியிருக்கிறார்.

900 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்,  தனது தந்தை ராஜராஜ சோழனின் அஸ்தியை ராஜேந்திர சோழன் கரைப்பதற்காக கொண்டு சென்றபோது, விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டம் கள்ளக்குறிச்சி வட்டத்தில் உள்ள ஓர் ஊரில், அஸ்தி மல்லிகைப் பூவானதாம்.  இதையடுத்து,  அந்த ஊரில் ராஜேந்திர சோழன்,  நாரீஸ்வரர் என்ற சிவன் கோயிலை கட்டினார். பின்னர், இந்த ஊருக்கு வீரசோழபுரம் என்ற பெயர் வந்தது.

விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டத்தை இரண்டாக பிரித்து கள்ளக்குறிச்சியை தலைமை இடமாக கொண்டு புதிய மாவட்டம் உருவாக்கப்படும் என்று கடந்த 8-1-2019 அன்று நடந்த சட்டசபை கூட்டத்தில் முதல்-அமைச்சர் திரு எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி அறிவித்தார். இதனை தொடர்ந்து அதற்கான பணிகள் மும்முரமாக நடைபெற்று வந்தது.அதன்பிறகு கடந்த 26-11-2019 அன்று கள்ளக்குறிச்சியில் நடந்த விழாவில் முதல்-அமைச்சர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி கலந்து கொண்டு கள்ளக்குறிச்சி புதிய மாவட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார். பின்னர் கள்ளக்குறிச்சி மாவட்ட கலெக்டர் அலுவலகம் ஒழுங்குமுறை விற்பனை கூடம் வளாகத்தில் தற்காலிகமாக செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. கள்ளக்குறிச்சி மாவட்ட கலெக்டர் அலுவலகம் கட்டுவதற்கான இடம் தேர்வு செய்யும் பணி தீவிரமாக நடைபெற்று வந்தது. அதன்படி வீரசோழபுரம் கிராம எல்லையில் 40.18 ஏக்கர் இடம் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டது. பின்னர் அதில் மண் பரிசோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது. .. ..  இது பத்திரிக்கை செய்தி  .. .. இதில் சொல்லப்படாதது என்ன ??

 

The Kalvarayan Hills are a major range of hills situated in the Eastern.  Along with the Pachaimalai, Alavaimalai, Javadi, and Shevaroy hills, they separate the Kaveri River basin to the south from the Palar River basin to the north.   The History of Kalrayan hills with its Jagirdars run back to the time of Krishna Deverayar the Emperor of ‘Vijaya Nagar Kingdom’.  

Kallakurichi District was announced as 33rd district by bifurcating Viluppuram district on the floor of Assembly by Hon’ble Chief Minister in  2019. Later the new Kallakurichi District was created as per a Government order and  the Hon’ble Chief Minister inaugurated Kallakurichi as 34th district (Tenkasi inaugurated as 33rd) on 26.11.2019 in a grand inaugural function. The district consists of 2 Revenue divisions with 6 taluks, consisting of 562 Revenue villages in 24 firkas. The district consists of 9 development blocks covering 412 village panchayats.   It covers 6 taluks namely Kallakurichi, Sankarapuram, Chinnasalem, Ulundurpet, Thirukovilur and Kalvarayanmalai.

This is no post on the District but on how Temple land has been usurped ! .. ..

Veeracholapuram is a village located in Villupuram and is famous for the  Shiva Temple,  known as Veeracholapuram Shiva Temple. Veeracholapuram is also notable for the Brindavana of Satyanatha Tirtha, a   pontiff of Uttaradi Matha of Dvaita Order of Vedanta, who took samadhi in the year in 1674 on the bank of river Dakshina Pinakini in this village.

This temple of Shiva dates back to many centuries but not in great shape now.  Recently when the villagers were renovating they found a culvert  that has 31 lines inscribed on it. It mentions of the era of Kulothunga Chozha I under whom Vanakovaraiyan Suthamallan Mudikondan created Veerachozha nallur and donated few acres of land for the temple maintenance. 

சோழர்காலக் கோயிலில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்த பாண்டியர் காலக் கல்வெட்டு, கி.பி. 13 -14 ஆம் ஆண்டைச் சார்ந்ததாகும். இது கோமாறபன்மரான திரிபுவனச்சக்கரவர்த்திகள் ஸ்ரீகுலசேகரத்தேவரின் 25 ஆம் ஆட்சி ஆண்டு சித்திரை மாதத்தில் பொறிக்கப்பட்டது. 

 

Rather than showing concern about the state of ruin of the Veera Cholapuram Sri Ardhanareeswara temple in Kallakurichi district, the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department has placed advertisements in newspapers about the intended sale of that shrine's land,  Hindu Munnani, said in a statement.

The government department has invited objections if any to the proposal and office-bearers of the Munnai from Kallakurichi district have forwarded representations to authorities opposing the 'sell-off.'  According to the advertisement, Rs 1.98 crore has been fixed as the price for 35 acres owned by the Shiva temple and the bid to acquire the land is to build a new collectorate complex for Kallakurichi district, State Secretary of the Munnani, T Manoharan said.  The proposed alienation not only went against the intention of the donors of the land, which was to create an endowment to support the temple perpetually for its regular functioning but also a 'betrayal,' he alleged. Even according to the government's guidelines, 35 acre land should fetch about Rs 100 crore and fixing a value of Rs 1.98 crore is "fraud and an illegal move," the Munnani alleged.

"It is illegal for the government to take up construction activities in the site which is yet to become the property of the government. This is condemnable," he alleged. He also urged the people to protest against the endowment department's bid to sell the land belonging to the centuries-old temple. Authorities were not immediately available for comment. Hindu Munnani is fighting the wrongful acquisition of   35 acres of land belonging to   temple to build a collectorate complex for the newly carved out Kallakurichi district.   The property belongs to  Veera Cholapuram Sri Ardhanareeswara temple in Kallakurichi district, but is being taken over by the Govt showing utter disregard to the procedures and more so, to the faith of Hindus and those who donated lands to this temple. 

Sad are the ways of people.  Here the Govt itself is trying to take over the land the administrator HR&CE displays  callous disregard in protecting temple property and in renovating temple.
