திருவேரகம் ~ Swamimalai Sri Murugan Stamp !!

 

 

திருவேரகம் எனும் பாடல் பெற்ற ஸ்தலம் அறிவீரா !!  -  முருகப்பெருமானின் அறுபடை வீடுகளில் நான்காவது படை வீடாகத் திகழ்வது திருவேரகம் என்று போற்றப்படும் சுவாமிமலை.  சுவாமிமலை சுவாமிநாதசுவாமி திருக்கோயில் (Swamimalai Swaminathaswamy Temple) முருகனின் ஆறுபடை வீடுகளில், நான்காம் படை வீடாகத் திகழ்கின்றது. இது தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலத்தில், தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டம், கும்பகோணத்திற்கு வடகிழக்கில் 6 கி.மீ தொலைவில் காவேரி ஆற்றின் கரையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இக்கோயிலில் மீனாட்சி சுந்தரேசுவரர் எழுந்தருளியுள்ளதால் சுந்தரேசுவரசுவாமி கோயில் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

 

தந்தைக்கு பிரணவ மந்திர உபதேசம் பண்ணியபடியால் முருகப்பெருமான் இக்கோயிலில் 'தகப்பன் சுவாமி' எனப் புகழ் பெற்று விளங்குகிறார். மேலும் குருவாக இருந்து அருளியதால் குருமலை என்றும், கந்தாசலம், சிரகிரி, சிவமலை என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.   இறைவன் இங்கு சுவாமி நாதனாக இருப்பதால் சுவாமிமலை எனும் பெயர் நிலைபெற்றுவிட்டது. இங்கு சிவன் சுந்தரேசுவரர், தாயார் மீனாட்சி எனும் பெயரில் உள்ளதால் இக்கோயில் மீனாட்சி சுந்தரேசுவரர் கோயில் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது

 

Swamimalai is a small, sacred town located about 5 km west of Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. It is internationally renowned for housing the Swaminatha Swamy Temple, the fourth of the six holy abodes (Arupadaiveedu) of Lord Murugan.  

 

 

பாதி மதிநதி போதும் அணிசடை      நாத ரருளிய.....குமரேசா

பாகு கனிமொழி மாது குறமகள்      பாதம் வருடிய.....மணவாளா

காது மொருவிழி காகமுற அருள்      மாயன் அரி திரு.....மருகோனே

காலனெனை யணுகாமல் உனதிரு காலில் வழிபட.....அருள்வாயே

ஆதி யயனொடு தேவர் சுரருலகு      ஆளும் வகையுறு.....சிறைமீளா

ஆடு மயிலினி லேறி அமரர்கள்      சூழ வர வரும்.....இளையோனே

சூத மிகவளர் சோலை மருவு      சுவாமிமலைதனில்.....உறைவோனே

சூர னுடலற வாரி சுவறிட      வேலை விடவல.....பெருமாளே.

 

திருப்புகழ்  சுவாமிமலை பாசுரம் - அருணகிரிநாதர் இயற்றியது. 

 

பிறைச் சந்திரனையும், கங்கை நதியையும், கொன்றை மலரையும் அணிந்த சடைப் பெருமான் சிவபிரான் அருளிய குமரேசனே, சர்க்கரைப் பாகும், கனிகளும் போன்ற இனிய மொழியை உடைய மாதரசி, குறமகளாகிய வள்ளியின் பாதத்தைப் பிடித்துவிடும் மணவாளனே, பிரிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு விழியை காகாசுரன் என்னும் காகம் அடையும்படி அருளிய ஸ்ரீராமர் மாய ஹரிக்கும், லக்ஷ்மிக்கும் மருமகனே, யமன் என்னை அணுகாத வகைக்கு உன் இரு திருவடிகளில் வழிபடும் புத்தியை அருள்வாயாக. ஆதி பிரமனோடு அமரர்கள் அனைவரும் தேவலோகத்தை ஆளும்படி சிறையினின்று அவர்களை மீட்டவனே, நடனம் ஆடும் மயில் மீது ஏறி தேவர்கள் உன்னைச் சூழ்ந்துவர வருகின்ற இளையவனே, மாமரங்கள் மிகுந்து வளர்ந்த சோலைகள் நிறைந்த சுவாமிமலையில் வீற்றிருப்பவனே, சூரனின் உடல் வீழ, கடல் வற்றிப்போக, வேலினைச் செலுத்தவல்ல பெருமாளே.

 

the Indian Department of Posts  has unveiled a Permanent Pictorial Cancellation stamp at Swamimalai post office, celebrating the spiritual heritage of the Swamimalai Murugan Temple. The stamp features the Tamil letter 'Om', (representing the Pranava Mantra) and the holy Vel reflecting its religious importance and aims to promote Swamimalai's rich cultural legacy both domestically and internationally. The special cancellation is permanently applied to all mail processed through the Swamimalai Post Office, effectively carrying the town’s spiritual and historical legacy across India and around the world.

 

This artistic depiction draws inspiration from the temple's lore, where it is believed that Lord Murugan imparted the essence of the 'Pranava Mantra' to Lord Shiva. With this step, the Department aims to raise cultural awareness of Swamimalai's heritage at both national and international levels, using postal articles as a medium. The event attracted participation from postal officials, philatelists, devotees, and locals, who celebrated the initiative to honor Swamimalai's spiritual and cultural significance. 

                    The imagery honors the Swaminathaswamy Temple, one of the six holy abodes (Arupadaiveedu) of Lord Murugan, where he legendarily taught the meaning of the Pranava Mantra to his father, Lord Shiva.  This cancellation mark is stamped on all outgoing postal articles and mail processed through the Swamimalai Post Office. Philatelists and tourists can send letters from this specific location to collect the unique pictorial seal.
