Aradhana is synonymous with the choral singing of the Ghana Raga Pancharatnam —
the five songs being ‘Jagadanandakaraka’ (Nata), ‘Dudukugala’ (Gaula),
‘Sadhinchene’ (Arabhi), ‘Kanakanaruchira’ (Varali) and ‘Endaro Mahanubhavulu’
(Sri), all in Adi tala. Saint
Thiyagaraja wrote Pancharatna kritis in
praise of Lord Rama.
They are set to Adi Tala and each raga represents the mood of the song and the
meaning of its lyrics. This is set in
Ragam Arabhi.
