Thiru Ther of Lord Sri Rama - at Thiruvallikkeni .

India entered the second week of the nationwide lockdown, as more than 1600 positive Covid-19 cases across the nation were confirmed. As per the latest update of  ABP News, the number of Coronavirus positive cases climbed to 1,613 with 35 deaths reported so far. Government of India is taking all necessary steps to ensure containing the threat posed by the growing pandemic of COVID 19 – the Corona Virus.  Total support of people is required in this – and hence please do not venture out at all.  ABP quoting PTI reports that case has been registered against Maulana Saad & others of Tableeghi Jamaat under Epidemic Disease Act 1897 & other sections of IPC for violation of government directions.

But for the lockdown, we would have witnessed the great event of Thiruther of Sri Rama Piran – here are some photos alongwith the post made in 2014.

மாதலி கொணர்ந்தனன், மகோததி வளாவும் * பூதலம் எழுந்து படல் தன்மைய பொலந் தேர்;

In the Ithihasa purana, Sree Ramayana, Indira orders his charioteer Mathali, to bring the best of the chariots and place it before the Lord who had vowed to protect Devas from Asuras.  At Thiruvallikkeni, it is no warfront – it is peaceful thulasi aaranyam.  Today, Sree Rama on rath was so pleasing to the eyes of devotees.  Here are some photos taken this day on 7th Apr 2014.

Sri Rama Navami is a great occasion to celebrate as it signifies the birth of the Maryadha Purush Sri Rama ~ the Greatest of Ithihasa purana ‘Sri Ramayanam’  is the undiluted history of the Greatest Person who descended on this Universe, on the banks of river Sarayu, in a prosperous country called ‘Koshala’ – the city of Ayodhya founded by the renowned Manu, ruled the mighty monarchs including Sagara and his sixty thousand sons, Bhagiratha and Dasaratha  in the dynasty of Ikshwaku.

Lord Rama the epitome of virtues lived a simple life in the wild forests, helped everyone who came to HIM, befriended people, slayed the demon Ravana.  The war too was fought in the most ethical manner gracefully leaving the enemy when he was too tired………… the war scenes are so beautifully described in the Ithihasa.

After 14 long years when Sri Rama returned to Ayodhya, the entire city was extremely delighted….. on the orders of Shatrughna, Sumanthra – the charioteer yoked the beautiful horses to the beautifully bedecked  chariot.  The charming chariot itself was emitting splendor equivalent of the Sun, the mighty Rama, the conqueror ascended it.
On 7th Mar 2014, it was day 8 of Sri Rama Navami Uthsavam and Lord Sri Rama with Lakshmana and Sita had purappadu … after kulakkarai purappadu, Sri Rama had purappadu in siriya thiruther.  Here are some photos taken during the purappadu
