How well do you know Triplicane ? – it houses great
Educational Institutions – the Presidency College, the Hindu High School,
Kellet High School, NKT National Boys High School, National Girls High School,
Lady Wellington school (all century old educational institutions) – famous
Gosha hospital – the great Sri Parthasarathi Swami temple besides – Udupi
Krishna Mandir, Kadumbadi Amman, Kolavizhi amman, Palandi Amman, Ellai Amman,
kulakkarai Hanuman temple, Sri Raghavendra Mutt, Arasadi Karpaga Vinayagar
temple … .. .. and more – the subject matter post is not exactly a Temple but
houses a beautiful vigraham of Swami Ramanujar and is famous for the undiluted
pure cow milk, the way the treat their cattle – the bairaghi Gaushala.

திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்ய தேசத்தில் நடக்கும் ஒரு சிறப்பு உத்சவம்
"ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கல் திருவூறல் உத்சவம்". அடையாறு ஆற்றங்கரையில் கிண்டி அருகே உள்ள ஈக்காடு
தொழிற்பேட்டைக்கு ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள்
பிரதி வருடமும் ஒரு நாள் எழுந்து அருள்கிறார். திருநக்ஷத்திரம் கணக்கு இல்லாமல் நடக்கும்
ஒரு சிறப்பு உத்சவம் "ஈக்காடுத்தாங்கல்
திருவூறல் உத்சவம்". கிண்டி அருகே
உள்ள ஈக்காடு தொழிற்பேட்டை பிரசித்தி பெற்றது. இது அடையாறு ஆற்றங்கரையில் உள்ளது. ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி பெருமாள் பிரதி வருடமும் ஒரு
நாள் இங்கு எழுந்து அருள்கிறார். மாசி மாதம் மற்ற சிறப்பு உத்சவங்கள் ஏதுவும் இல்லாத ஒரு ஞாயிற்றுக்
கிழமை இவ்வுத்சவம் நடைபெறுகிறது. இவ்வருடம்
இவ்வுத்சவம் 19.1.2020 அன்று சிறப்புற நடைபெற்றது.
At the junction of TP
Koil Street and Besant Road – there is the Southern arch of Sri Parthasarathi
temple. NKT National girls high school
is a stone’s throw away – on 19.1.2020 around 0930 pm – Srivaishanavas were
waiting in groups and hearing the sound approaching, everyone of them felt
happy. More gleeful faces could be seen
shortly – those Sripadham thangigal and some more were visibly tired but extremely
enthusiastic still and happy – after walking (not mere walking) more than 60
kms on that day ! ~ the reason for their happiness ? - it
was thirumbukal of Sri Parthasarathi Perumal from Ekkattuthangal thiruvooral
uthsavam.
though I live in
Triplicane since my birth and would have crossed this building thousands of
times, it never occurred to me to go inside but on that bountiful day when I
could accompany our Emperuman for a distance, having His darshan and wait for
his return purappadu, had the fortune of going inside the gowshala and have
darshan of Emperumanar Sri Ramanujar.
Nearly a thousand
year ago, our Acaryar Sri Ramanujar on a pilgrimmage visited Srinagar searching
for manuscript of Bodhayana-vritti, a commentary on the Brahmasutra by Bodhyana. Our darsana Sthapakar, Sri Ramanujar rightly reverred as ‘YathiRajar’ ~ the king
among yathis [hermits and sages], the
greatest reformer he was, Ramanuja gave us many vedantic treatises -
toured the entire Country, making the Srivaishnavatie tradition flourish in all
his path. He was a great administrator
too. Our Acharyar formulated a faith in which none were devoid of Divine Grace.
At Thulasinga Perumal
Kovil Street – a family have been maintaining a small gowshala, providing pure
cow’s milk to people who religiously buy it for temples and for offering to
their Thiruvarathana Perumals. Sri
Lakshmipathi gracefully allowed for some photographs to be taken and gave some
Prasad of the Acaryar also.
திருவரங்கத்து அமுதனார் எம்பெருமானரிடத்திலே அளப்பரிய பக்தியும் பாசமும்

திருவரங்கம் எனும் அற்புத திவ்யக்ஷேத்திரம், தேன் நிறைந்த சோலைகளை உடையது. திருக்காவேரியின் நடுவே பள்ளிகொண்ட பெருமாளாகிய
நம்பெருமாளின் தாமரை போன்ற திருவடிகளை, தமதுநெஞ்சிலே வையாத மனிதர்களை விட்டொழித்து, திருமங்கை
மன்னனுடைய திருவடிகளையே என்றும் விட்டு நீங்காத பக்தியையுடையரான ஸ்வாமி எம்பெருமானாருடைய சிறந்த சீலகுணத்தைத் தவிர வேறொன்றையும் எனது நெஞ்சானது நினைக்க மாட்டாது. இவ்வாறாக, எனக்கு உற்ற பேர்இயல்வு, சிறந்தஸ்வபாவத்திற்கு ஒரு காரணத்தையும் அறிகின்றிலேன், ஆசார்யானது அனுகூல
நற்கருணையைத் தவிர !
It was indeed a good
fortune – Thiruvarangathu Amuthanar in his Iramanusa Noorranthathi says – “I
cannot understand this good fortune. My heart does not think of anything other
than the extreme benevolence of Ramanuja.
He gave up the company of men who do not contemplate the lotus feet of
the nectar-groves-surrounded-Arangam lord, and only sought the feet of the
kuraiyalur king. Tirumangai Alvar”.
To all of us bonded
to the feet of our greatest Acaryar Swami Ramanujar, it will always be good
things – whatever be the tough times, let us fall at the holy feet of our
Acaryar Swami Emperumanar and through Him reach the glorious Lord of
Thiruvarangam.
