Sri Andal thiruvadipura Uthsavam 2018 @ Thiruvallikkeni

For Srivaishnavaites, the month of Aadi is of special significance – as Thiruvadipuram [Puram Nakshathiram in the month of Aadi] –  is the  most blessed day for all Srivaishnavaites –  marking  the birth of Kothai Piratti [Andal].  The glorious Thiruvadipura Uthsavam is underway at Thiruvallikkeni and other divyadesams.  Today 8^th of August 2018  is 5th day of Uthsavam.  Sri Andal had china mada veethi purappadu during which ‘Thiruvirutham’ was rendered.  This year Thiruvadipuram falls on Monday, 13^th of Aug 2018.

Andal composed two works  unique in their literary, philosophical, religious, and artistic content.  Here is a pasuram from Nachiyar Thirumozhi which exhibits her total devotion and abject surrender at the feet of Sriman Narayana.

தொழுதுமுப்போது முன்னடி வணங்கித் தூமலர் தூய்த்தொழுதேத்துகின்றேன்*

பழுதின்றிப் பாற்கடல்வண்ணனுக்கே பணிசெய்து வாழப் பெறாவிடில்  நான்*

அழுதழுதலமந்தம்மா வழங்க ஆற்றவுமது உனக்குறைக்குங் கண்டாய் *

உழுவதோரெருத்தினை நுகங்கொடு பாய்ந்து ஊட்டமின்றித் துரந்தாலொக்குமே*

ஆண்டாள் தனது பக்தியினை மிக அழகாக வெளிபடுத்துகிறார்.  மூன்று காலங்களிலும் பெருமாளையே நினைத்து, குற்றமொன்றுமில்லாமல் தொழுது வணங்கி முழு மனதுடன், பூமியைச் சூழ்ந்த கடல் போன்ற திருநிறத்தையுடைய கண்ணபிரானது திருபாதங்களிலே பரிசுத்தமான புஷ்பங்களைப் சமர்ப்பித்து ~ அவனையே ஸ்தோத்திரம் பண்ணும் தனக்கு அருளாவிடில், தான்  பலகாலும் அழுது தடுமாறி - அவனையே  நினைந்து கதறிக் கொண்டு திரிய நேரிடும்  ~ அத்தைகைய செயல் ஏருழுகின்ற ஒரு எருதை நுகத்தடியால் தள்ளி ஊட்டம் இன்றி தீனியில்லாமல் ஒட்டிவிடுவதைப் போலாம் - என தனது பக்தி கமழ்ந்த வரிகளால் விளக்குகிறார்
