Thai REvathi Sri Mannathar purappadu @ Thiruvallikkeni 2019

Today is ‘Revathi’ nakshathiram in the month of Thai  ~ and there was  purappadu of Sri Ranganathar.    At Thiruvallikkeni, there is separate sannathi of Sri Vedavalli thayar and Srimannadhar (Sri Ranganathar).  Vedavalli grew up in the ashram of Bhrigu maharishi at Brindharanyam and was married to Sri Ranganathar on Suddha makha dwadasi  (Feb – Mar).  Other than  monthly purappadu on REvathi nakshathiram,  there occurs 5 day Pallava uthsavam that  culminates on Punguni uthiram day. 

மெய்யில் வாழ்க்கையை மெய்யெனக் கொள்ளும்

இவ்வையந் தன்னொடும் கூடுவதில்லையான்

ஐயனே அரங்கா என்றழைக்கின்றேன்

மையல் கொண்டொழிந்தேனென்றன் மாலுக்கே

Kulasekara  Azhwar the King of Thiruvanzikalam  in his emotive address to Lord Ranganatha laments his misfortune of having to live and mix with people who derive pleasure in material world and consider corporeal life as real.  He yearns to utter the divyanamams of Lord Ranganatha – the Lord at Thiruvarangam and expresses his boundless love for the Lord who cares for His devotees…

மெய்யில் வாழ்க்கை ~ இவ்வுலகத்தில் உள்ள பொருட்ச்செல்வம் என கருதப்படுபவையோடு, பொருந்தி வாழ்வதையே, உண்மை எனக்கொள்ளும்  - இவ்வுலகத்தாரோடு சேர எனக்கு விருப்பம் இல்லை !  பரம்பொருளான ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனை  ~  திருவரங்கா, ‘ஸ்ரீரங்கநாதனே!’ என மனமுருகி உந்தன் நாமங்களை அழைத்து, பக்தர்களிடத்தில் வாத்ஸல்யமுடைய எம்பெருமான்  மீதே மையல் கொண்டொழிந்தேன் ~ என்கிறார் குலசேகர ஆழ்வார்
