chasing butterflies !!!

If you are a good husband – the very name ‘Butterfly’ should ring in your mind – the cooker, gas stove and other home appliances – it had its Office on the Mount road, more than 5 decades of house appliances.

If you stumble upon this picture while surfing the internet, it might seem like nothing but a nice shot of a butterfly chilling on a sunflower. You would probably have a hard time figuring out what’s so amazing about this and might need to look very closely to spot the true masterpiece in this photo―this butterfly is actually a human!  Fine art body painter Johannes Stötter uses paint to camouflage his living models into their surroundings or to recreate various forms we see around us, from animals to inanimate objects, like shoes. The skillful painting and curves of a live model blend together perfectly, creating a mind-bending optical illusion that looks incredibly realistic. This Italian artist is well-known worldwide for his mind-blowing body painting, -  this  illusion called “The Butterfly” was dedicated to his little daughter, Linnéa, and he believes it’s his best artwork so far.

Due to their bright colors and visits to flowers, butterflies are the most familiar of insects to humans.   Butterflies (and moths) are the only group of insects that have scales covering their wings, although some butterflies have reduced scales. They differ from other insects also by their ability to coil up their proboscis.

While we like butterflies, we frown upon seeing moths.   Honeybees, bumblebees and butterflies are almost synonymous with pollination. People love them for their intimate relationship with flowers—we can't grow a lot of our food or enjoy the sight of fragile springtime blossom without them.  Some  research shows  moths may actually be more efficient pollinators. While it remains unclear precisely why moths had higher pollination rates, it may be that they spend more time visiting each flower than honeybees, hoverflies and other daytime pollinators. In any case, it's certain that the importance of moths as nocturnal pollinators is undervalued.

Moving away,  I tried chasing this colour colour butterfly with little success – it was moving so fast and would not spend much time on any flower !!  it had attractive colours on its forewings and looked far different than ones I have chased !!

But web searches reveal that it is a commoner - Delias eucharis, the common Jezebel,  is a medium-sized pierid butterfly found in many areas of south and southeast Asia!
