The one
news that we would be happy of not hearing – but end up hearing everyday is
Corona score. After going past Delhi,
the number of novel Coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu look poised to overtake
Gujarat as well. Tamil Nadu discovered
716 new infections on Tuesday, and now has 8718 confirmed cases. Gujarat, the
state with the second-highest number of cases, has 8904 with the addition of
362 new cases on Tuesday.
As
has been happening every day, most of the new cases in Tamil Nadu came from
Chennai which now has close to 5,000 cases. This is more than 55 per cent of
the total number of cases in the state. But Chennai is not alone in this. In
several states, the bulk of cases, more than 50 per cent, are concentrated in
just one or two cities. Mumbai accounts for over 60 per cent of all cases in
Maharashtra while Ahmedabad has over 70 per cent of all cases in Gujarat.
Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Kolkata in West Bengal are also in a similar
situation. These cities also account for a large proportion of deaths in the
states.
Delhi
completed 50 days of lockdown on Tuesday. And in these 50 days, the national
capital saw the number of Covid-19 cases rise by 254 times, an analysis of the
health ministry’s figures by Hindustan Times’ Hindi language publication
Hindustan shows. There were just 30 positive Covid-19 cases in Delhi till March
24, a day before nationwide lockdown came into effect. It increased to 7,639 by
May 12, Hindustan reported. This is because of a spike in numbers in May with
200 to 400 Covid-19 positive cases being recorded every day.
Yesterday,
our PM Shri Narendra Modiji addressed
the nation, exhorting citizens to be “atmanirbhar”, or self- reliant, and announced an economic stimulus of
Rs 20 lakh crore- 10% of India’s GDP. Today, on Wednesday, he is meeting secretaries of
the empowered groups to discuss Covid-19 and the lockdown situation. The PM, in
his address to the nation, pointed out that experts have warned that
coronavirus will remain a part of our lives for a long time, but stressed the
need to move forward. So lockdown 4 could be different, there could
be many relaxations, but We, people have to be vigilant – come out only when
necessary, do not crowd anywhere, wash hands frequently, wear mask, follow
social distancing ! Today (13.5.2020) would have bee the 9th day in
the Chithirai brahmothsavam of Sri Parthasarathi Perumal.
திருவல்லிக்கேணி
திவ்யக்ஷேத்திரத்திலே அதி அத்புதமாய் நடைபெறும் ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதி ப்ரஹ்மோத்சவத்தில்
9ம் உத்சவம், காலை ஆளும் பல்லக்கில் பெருமாள் புறப்பாடு கண்டருளி - கலியன் வைபவம் நடந்த
இடத்தில், கணையாழியை தேடுவதாம் போர்வை களைதல், கோவில் வாசலில் ப்ரணய கலகமாம் 'மட்டையடி';
திருமஞ்சன குடம், சக்ரத்தாழ்வார் புறப்பாடு; தீர்த்தவாரி திருமஞ்சனம்; என படு அமர்க்களம்,
மாலையில் பத்தி உலாவுதல் - கண்ணாடி பல்லக்கு புறப்பாடு என ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாய்
நிகழ்ச்சிகள்.
On 9th day of Sri Parthasarathi Brahmothsavam
is a hectic day. In the morning Perumal has purappadu in “Aaal mael pallakku” – a
palanquin with four men holding the pallakku on their shoulders. The day’s events are sequel to that of the
previous day i.e., ‘Thirumangai
Mannan Vaibhavam’; Emperuman turning Kaliyan into his astute devotee teaching
him the ~ ‘ashtakshara mantra’.... In symbolizing search of
lost ring, Perumal has Himself covered with ‘sheets’ and comes incognito
- the deed of His searching is celebrated at the same place where He gave the
Ultimate advice to Thirumangai Mannan. With every circling round, one
porvai is removed and for a few seconds one can have darshan of Sri
Parthasarathi with no floral garlands – then many flowers adorn Perumal.
Upon reaching the Temple, the conflict with Ubaya Nachimar on His going out
untold is enacted.
The conflict is not that of
mortals…it is divine… ‘pranaya kalaham’ arising out of the celestial bonds
between ‘Thayar and Perumal’…. In the words of Andal ~
*ஊடல் கூடலுணர்தல் புணர்தலை*
ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதியின் ப்ரம்மோத்சவத்தில்
ஒன்பதாம் நாள் தீர்த்தவாரி''. காலை புறப்பாடு "ஆளும் பல்லக்கு " - இந்த பல்லக்கு நான்கு ஆட்கள் தங்கள் தோள்கள்
மீது பல்லக்கை சுமப்பது போன்றே அமைந்து இருப்பதால் "ஆள் மேல் பல்லக்கு”. இந்த பல்லக்கில் பெருமாள் நிறைய (9)
போர்வைகளை போற்றிக்கொண்டு எழுந்து
அருள்கிறார். திருமங்கை மன்னனை ஆட்கொண்ட படலத்தில்,
பெருமாள் ஒரு கணையாழியை [மோதிரத்தை] தொலைப்பதாகவும், அதிகாலை பெருமாள்
நாச்சிமாருக்கு கூட தெரியாமல் தனது
மோதிரத்தை தேடி போர்வையுடன் வந்து,
முன்தினம் கலியன் வைபவம் நடந்த அதே
இடத்தில் நகையை தேடும் வைபவம் "போர்வை
களைதல்" என கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. எம்பெருமான் பரிமேலேறி மணிமாட வீதிவலம் வந்து வேர்கலியனுக்கு மெய்ப்பொருள் உரைத்த போதினிலே திருவாழி
மோதிரம் காணாதே போக, காலை பொழுதினில் பொற்றண்டிகை மேலேறி கையாழி மோதிரம் கண்டெடுக்க
போர்வைகள் போற்றிக்கொண்டு பவனி வந்தார் ~ என ஐதீஹம்.
ஸ்ரீபாதம்தாங்கிகள்
அழகு மிளிர சுற்றி வரும்போது ஒவ்வொரு சுற்றுக்கும் ஓரோர் போர்வை நீக்கி, கற்பூர
ஆரத்தி கண்டருளி ~ அனைத்து போர்வைகளும் கலைந்த கணத்தில், சில நிமிடங்கள் - எம்பெருமான்
சௌந்தர்யம் திகழும் திருமேனியை - சங்கு சக்ர கதாபாணியை அணிகலன்களுடன் சேவிக்கும்
ஒரு அற்புத வாய்ப்பு; உடன் சில நிமிடங்களில் மணம்கமழும் மாலை அணிந்து வேறொரு
சேவை அளிக்கிறார் நம் ஸ்ரீ பார்த்தசாரதி.
இத்தகைய சேவைகள் கண்டு
இன்புறும் திருவல்லிக்கேணிவாசிகள் பாக்கியசாலிகள் ! ஆனால் கொடிய கொரோனா நுண்ணுயிர்
தாக்குதலால் பிரம்மோத்சவம் இவ்வருடம் நடைபெறவில்லை. நாம் எவரும் பெருமாளை சேவிக்க இயலவில்லை. இந்நிலை விரைவில் மாறி, நாம் எம்பெருமானை தரிசித்து
இன்புறுவோமாக ! - அதற்கு அவனையே உபாயமாக் கொண்டு, அவனது திருவடிகளையே பற்றி, அவனிடத்திலேயே
பிரார்த்திப்போம்.
தண்டிகை என்றால் பல்லக்கு. நாம் இங்கே காண்வது எம்பெருமானை சுமந்து வரும் பல்லக்கு. முன்னாட்களில், அரசர்கள், அரசிகள், நிலக்கிழார்கள் என சமுதாயத்தில்
பெரும் பதவி வகிர்த்தவர்களும் பல்லக்கிலேயே
பவனி வருவர். பல்லக்கை குறிக்கும் வேறு சொற்கள்
: - சிவிகை, ஆந்தோணி, தண்டிகை, அந்தளம், கச்சு, ஓகம்,
தொங்குமஞ்சம். பல்லக்கின் பல வகைகள்
: கட்டுப்பல்லக்கு, ரத்தினப் பல்லக்கு, முத்துப்
பல்லக்கு, புஷ்ப பல்லக்கு, திறந்த நிலைப் பல்லக்கு, மருப்பு பல்லக்கு.. ..
ஆரம்பத்தில் கண்ட குறளில்
திருவள்ளுவர் உரைப்பது : அறத்தைச் செய்வதால்
வரும் பயன் இது என்று நூல்களைக் கொண்டு மெய்ப்பிக்க வேண்டியது இல்லை. பல்லக்கைத் தூக்கிச்
செல்பவனையும் அதில் பயணிப்பவனையும் கண்ட அளவில் பயனை அறியலாம். திருக்குறள் பொது மக்களுக்கான வாழ்க்கை நெறி. இந்த குறளுக்கும் எம்பெருமான் வைபவத்திற்கும் தொடர்பு ஒன்றுமில்லை.
