எம்பெருமான் எத்தகையவன் ? - இவ்வண்டத்தில் உள்ள பரமாணுக்கள் யாவற்றையும் தன்னுள் அடக்கியவன்.  

Tomorrow is a day of significance elsewhere in the World. In 1775, the people in the thirteen American colonies commenced their struggle for independence from British rule under King George III. This conflict marked the beginning of the American Revolutionary War, a fight driven by the colonists' desire for self-governance and freedom from oppressive British policies. The momentum for independence culminated on July 2, 1776, when Congress secretly voted in favor of breaking away from Great Britain, setting the stage for a historic declaration. 

Two days after the decisive vote, on July 4, 1776, the final wording of the Declaration of Independence was approved and the document was officially published, marking a pivotal moment in American history. The Declaration's first public reading occurred on July 8, 1776, allowing the colonists to hear the momentous news. 

US Independence Day 2024, celebrated on July 4th, will mark 248 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This national holiday commemorates the birth of the United States as an independent nation, with festivities including fireworks, parades, concerts, and family gatherings across the country.  The day is a   federal holiday with government offices, schools, stock market remaining closed.   

It may seem remarkable that no American spent the Fourth of July holiday in space for the first 21 years of human spaceflight. Not until 1982 and the 35th U.S. human spaceflight did Americans awaken in space on Independence Day, and then bring their spacecraft back to Earth later in the day to a rousing welcome by the President of the United States.  On July 4, 1982, the final day of their flight, astronauts Thomas K. ‘TK’ Mattingly and Henry W. “Hank” Hartsfield guided space shuttle Columbia to its first concrete runway landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California. President Ronald W. Reagan, who two years later instructed NASA to develop a space station, and First Lady Nancy Reagan greeted Mattingly and Hartsfield on the runway as they disembarked from Columbia. Through 2024, 73 Americans have celebrated Independence Day in space, eight of them twice, each in a unique style. 

Divyadesangal offer greatest chances to have darshan and realize the greatness of Emperuman.  At Thiruvallikkeni, Uthsavams galore – after Aani Brahmothsavam of Sri Azhagiya Singar comes, the Kodai uthsavam for Sri Parthasarathi –– in between there was Ekadasi and  today  it was ‘Rohini thirunakshathiram’ –and purappadu of Sri Parthasarathi perumal. As usual, Emperumal dazzled and His beauty was so attractive to those who could have darshan at the streets of Thiruvallikkeni .. .. here is a brief from Swami Nammalwar’s thiruvaimozhi. 

ஒருவரை, ஒரு பொருளின் சிறப்பை உணர - அவற்றின் சிறப்பை உணர்ந்து அறிய வேண்டும் ! ~ நம் எம்பெருமான் எத்தகையவன்  - அளத்தற்கரியவன் !! - அவனது சிறப்புகளை ஆழ்வார்கள் வாயமுதமாகவே அறிவது உயர்ந்தது அல்லவா !! 

 

புகழும் நல் ஒருவனென்கோ  ?   – பொருவில்சீர்ப் பூமியென்கோ ?

திகழுந்தண் பரவையென்கோ?  – தீயென்கோ வாயுவென்கோ ?

நிகழும்  ஆகாசம் என்கோ  !  – நீள்சுடரிரண்டும்  என்கோ

இகழ்வில்  இவ்வனைத்தும் என்கோ  !  – கண்ணனைக் கூவுமாறே!

 

உலகத்து எல்லா சத்பொருள்களையும் தனக்குச் சரீரமாகவுடையவன்.  வேத முதல்வன், விளங்கு புரிநூலன் என வேதங்கள் இதிஹாஸ புராணங்கள் போன்றவற்றால்  புகழ்ந்து கூறப்பெற்ற விலக்ஷணமான குணங்கள் முதலியவற்றையுடைய ஒப்பற்றவன் என்று சொல்வேனோ? ஒப்பில்லாத சிறப்புக்களையுடைய பூமியென்று சொல்வேனோ?விளங்குகிற நீர்நிலையென்று சொல்வேனோ?அக்கினியென்பேனோ? காற்று என்பேனோ? எங்குமுளதான ஆகாசமென்பேனோ?  தகிக்கும் ஸூர்யன், தண்மையான சந்திரன் என  இரண்டு சுடர்களுமென்பேனோ? இகழப்படுதலில்லாத (வேண்டும் பொருள்களாகக் கைக் கொள்ளுதற்கு உரிய) இவையெல்லாப் பொருள்களுமென்பேனோ?  உயர்ந்த கல்யாண குணங்களை உள்ள எம்பெருமானை என்ன சொல்லி, எப்படி அழைப்பேன் ? - பரம்பொருளை யான் இன்னதென்று  உணறேன் என்கிறார் சுவாமி நம்மாழ்வார் தமது திருவாய்மொழி மூன்றாம் பத்து  - நான்காம் திருவாய்மொழியிலே 

 

To those of us who stand near and worship Sri Parthasarathi Perumal at Thiruvallikkeni, one day could come realization of the greatness, the uniqueness, the unparalleled brilliance of Emperuman – and one need not falter for words to describe His brilliance.  Swami Nammalwar in his Thiruvaimozhi says of Emperuman – He is the famed one ! ~ who contains and has in Himself, the blemishless earth, cool wide mighty Ocean, the fire, the wind, the all pervasive space, the bright Sun, cool moon ~ and the rest and more ! .. .. and how do we call our great Emperuman, the supreme Paramathma 

– simply call Him by the thousands of name that our Azhwars and Acaryas praised, just think of Him, fall at His lotus feet – and get rid of all our sins. Here are some photos of  Aani Rohini purappadu today.

பணிலம் என்ற சொல்லை கேள்வியுற்று இருக்கிறீர்களா !  அதன் பொருள் என்ன என்று தெரியுமா ?? 

Today,  2^nd July 2024     is ‘Aani Krishna paksha  Ekadasi’.   On this  Ekadasi day at Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam, Sri Parthasarathi had grand purappadu with most beautiful floral garlands outsmarting the dazzling ornaments.   Today He was ‘pulchritudinous’ – stunning beauty – besides the ornaments embellishing, in tune with the season, it was choicest garland. 

Conch  is a common name of a number of different medium-to-large-sized sea snails. Conch shells typically have a high spire and a noticeable siphonal canal (in other words, the shell comes to a noticeable point on both ends).   A conch is a sea snail in the phylum Mollusca. A conch shell consists of about 95% calcium carbonate and 5% organic matter. 

In North America, a conch is often identified as a queen conch, indigenous to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean    The protected Queen conch season, a period when regulations are in place to safeguard the population officially started yesterday, July 1.  During this time, restrictions are imposed on harvesting the Queen conch to prevent overfishing and ensure the sustainability of the species, while helping to maintain a healthy population of the Queen Conch in the marine environment.   According to a   post of  the Antigua and Barbuda National Park, “It’s illegal to fish for, sell, purchase, or possess Queen conch during this time”. 

The English word "conch" is attested in Middle English, coming from Latin concha (shellfish, mussel), which in turn comes from Greek konchē (same meaning) ultimately from Proto-Indo-European root *konkho-, cognate with Sanskrit word śaṅkha.

பணிலம் என்றால் சங்கு !

சங்கம் முழங்கவே, சாரதியாய் வந்து - எங்களை காப்பாயே !!

எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணனின் திருக்கரத்தில் பாஞ்சஜன்யம் எனும் சங்கும் திருவாழி எனும் சக்கரமும் நிலை கொண்டு இருக்கும்.  தனது அடியார்களை காப்பாற்ற சக்கரத்தையும், பாரத போரில் சங்கத்தையும் ஏந்தியவன் பகவான் ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணன்.  அவனே ஸ்ரீபார்த்தசாரதியாக திருவல்லிக்கேணி புண்ணிய பூமியிலே சேவை சாதித்து அருள்கிறான்.   இதோ இங்கே தமிழ் தலைவன் பேயாழ்வாரின் ஒரு அற்புதமான பாசுரம் மூன்றாம் திருவந்தாதியில் இருந்து : 

பெற்றம் பிணைமருதம் பேய்முலை மாச்சகடம்,

முற்றக்காத்தூடு போயுண்டுதைத்து, – கற்றுக்

குணிலை விளங்கனிக்குக் கொண்டெறிந்தான், வெற்றிப்

பணிலம் வாய் வைத்துகந்தான் பண்டு. 

எம்பெருமான் எத்தகையவன் ! நம் அனைவரையும் காத்து ரக்ஷிப்பவன்.  கிருஷ்ணாவதாரத்திலே பசுக்களை முற்ற காத்து ஒன்று தப்பாமல் ரக்ஷித்தவனாயும், பிணைந்து நின்ற இரட்டை மருத மாங்களிடையே சென்றவனாயும், பூதனையின் முலையை உண்டவனாயும்,  பெரிய சகடத்தை உதைத் தொழித்தவனாயும், கன்றாகிய எறிதடியைக் கொண்டு விளாம்பழத்தின் மீது எறிந்தவனாயும் சிறப்புற வளர்ந்த எம்பெருமான் கண்ணன் முன்பொரு காலத்தில் ஜயசீலமான சங்கை (வெற்றிப் பணிலம்)  வாயிலே வைத்து ஊதி  உகந்தான்  என பேயாழ்வார் அதிசயிக்கின்றார். 

Leave your fears ! ~ try and forget all the difficulties !! fall at the lotus feet of Sriman Narayana and pray to Emperuman Sri Parthasarathi for the well being of us all. Here are some photos of Ekadasi purappadu this evening. 

After assuming office for the third time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi to visit Sri Kasi  Vishwanathar Temple. During this visit, he also participated in Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah.  The  man who grabbed the eyeballs was Ramjanam Yogi. He during the aarti blew the conch for 2 minutes and 40 seconds and caught the most attention, including that of PM  Shri Narendra Modiji.

Sri U Ve Kovil Kanthadai Chandamarutham Periyappangar (Doddachar) Swami Thirunakshathiram 2024 

Sri Vaishnava Sampradhayam places great emphasis on following the path shown by Acharyan.  Our  Sampradhayam is proud of the rich lineage of greatest of Acharyas who have guided us towards salvation.  One can easily discern from the  Great ‘Thaniyan’ of Swami Koorathazhwaan that we observe daily –  

“Lakshminatha samarambaam, Nathayamuna madhyamam – Asmath Achaarya paryanthaam, vanthe Guru parambaram”.

 For a  Srivaishnavaite, Acharyar leads and guides one to ultimate  Sriman Narayana. My Acharyar  is Cholasimhapuram Doddayachaaryar (presently Sri U. Ve. Kovil Kanthadai Chandamarutham Yoga Nrusimhan  Swamy).   We the Sishyas of Swami belong to the lineage, which emanated from the Holy feet of Sri Periya Perumal, Periya Pirattiar, Senai Muthalvar, Nammazhwar, Naathamunigal, Uyyakkondar, Manakkal Nambigal, Aalavanthar, Periya Nambi, Emperumaanar, Koorathazhwar, Mudaliandan, Embaar, Battar, Nanjeeyar, Nampillai,  Vadakku Thiruveethipillai, Pillai Logachariyar, Thiruvoimozhipillai, Maanavala Maamunigal, Vaanamamalai Jeeyar to  Doddacharyar (of whose lineage we have the present head – Sri Yoga Narasimha Swami).

30.6.2024 அன்று ஸ்ரீ கோயில் கந்தாடை சண்ட  மாருதம் பெரியப்பங்கார் ஸ்வாமி  திருநக்ஷத்திரம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ சிங்கராச்சார் ஸ்வாமியின்   திருநக்ஷத்திர வைபவமும் அவரது சிஷ்யர்களான அடியோங்களால் விமர்சையாக திருவல்லிக்கேணி ஸ்ரீயதுகிரி யதிராஜ ஜீயர்  மடத்தில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. 

ஸ்ரீவைணவர்களான நம் அனைவருக்கும் எம்பெருமானார் இராமானுசர் திருவடி சம்பந்தமே மிக போக்யமானது.  உடையவர் 74 சீடர்களை சிம்ஹாசனாதிபதிகளாக நியமித்தருளினார்.  அந்த பரம்பரையில் வந்தவர்களிடம் பஞ்ச ஸம்ஸ்காரம் செய்து கொள்வோர் உடையவர் திருவடி சம்பந்தம் பெறுவர்.  உடையவர் சிஷ்யர்களில் அதி முக்கியமானவர் திரு முதலியாண்டான். அவரது திருக்குமரன் கந்தாடையாண்டான் - அவர் தம் வம்ச பரம்பரையில் வந்தவர் சோளசிங்கபுரம் தொட்டையாச்சார்யார் எனும் மஹாசார்யர்.  நமது வர்த்தமான ஆசார்யர் - ஸ்ரீமான் உபய வேதாந்த கோயில் கந்தாடை சண்டமாருதம் கந்தாடையாண்டான் (எ) யோகந்ருசிம்மன் ஸ்வாமி (Thiru KKC Yogesh Swami)

 

சில நூறாண்டுகள்  முன்பு நம் சுவாமி திருவம்சத்தில் ஸ்வாமி தொட்டாச்சார்யார் என்பவர் அக்காரக்கனியாக (இனிப்புச் சுவையுடைய பழம் போன்ற) போற்றப்படும் ஸ்ரீ யோக நரசிம்மருக்குப் பூஜைகள் செய்துவந்தார். பெருமாளிடம் பக்தி கொண்ட அவர் ஆண்டுதோறும் காஞ்சிபுரம் வரதராஜப் பெருமாள் கோவிலில் பிரம்மோற்சவத்திற்குச் சென்று பெருமாளைத் தரிசிப்பது வழக்கம். ஒரு முறை அவரால்  பிரம்மோற்சவத்திற்குச் செல்ல இயலவில்லை. மூன்றாம் நாள் கருட சேவை உற்சவத்தன்று ஸ்வாமி தொட்டாச்சார்யார் சோளசிம்மபுரம் என்ற தற்போதைய சோளிங்கரில் இருந்தவாறே  'ஸ்ரீ தேவராஜ  பஞ்சகம்'  எனும்  ஐந்து ஸ்லோகங்களைப் பாடினார். இதே நேரத்தில் காஞ்சியில் வரதராஜப் பெருமாள் கருட வாகன ரூபமாகத் திருவீதி உலா செல்வதற்காகக் கோயில் வாயிலுக்கு வந்தார். சோளிங்கரில் இந்த ஐந்து சுலோகங்களைப் பாடி முடிக்கவும், காஞ்சியில் கோயில் வாயிற் கதவு மூடிக்கொள்ளவும் சரியாக இருந்தது. 

மூடிய கதவுகளுக்குப் பின்னால் கருட சேவையில் இருந்த பெருமாள் அப்படியே சோளசிம்மபுரத்துக்கு  எழுந்தருளி தொட்டாச்சார்யாருக்குக் காட்சி கொடுத்தார். இன்றும் இது ஸ்வாமி தொட்டாச்சார்யார் சேவை என்று காஞ்சியில் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. சோளிங்கபுரத்தில் காட்சி அளித்த பெருமாள், தக்கான் குளக்கரையில் கருட சேவையிலேயே கோவில் கொண்டுள்ளார்.  அத்தகைய சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த திருவம்சத்திலே அவதரித்தவர் நம் ஆசார்யர். இன்று அவர் எழுந்து அருளி இருந்து நமக்கு அருளியது நம் பெரும் பாக்கியம். 

Understand that there were  5  Thirumaligais of the lineage of Doddacharyar  earlier.  Presently there are only two - the family of Swami Periyappangar Swami - of whose lineage is our varthamana Acharyar - Sri Ubhaya Vedantha Kovil Kanthadai Chandamarutham Singarachar Swamy;  the other is that of Swami Vedanthachaar. 

Today 30.6.2024,   is  a great day for the sishyas as the  Thirunakshathiram of Sri U.Ve. KKCP Periyappangar Swami &  thirunakshathiram of Sri Singarachar swami were celebrated at  Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt, Triplicane.  Our varthamana Swami Sri KKCP Yoga Narasimhan  swami descended at Thiruvallikkeni  and hundreds of sishyas and members of ‘Sri Koil Kanthaadai Chandamarutham Periyappangar Swami Sishya Sabha’ gathered  to get the blessings of Acharyar.    

Tracing back our lineage,  Swami Sri Doddachar was born in 1543 in the famous lineage of Swami Mudaliandan.  In this Kaliyuga, we know that Thirukachi Arulalar directly conversed with Acharyan Thirukachi Nambigal  … and centuries later,  Sri Devathirajar had direct interaction with our Doddacharyar Swami too.  The most famous amongst the  brahmothsavam is the  Garuda Sevai – at Thirukachi,  Lord Devapperumal is taken in procession on vahanam of Garuda also known as Periya Thiruvadi.  Garuda Seva has special significance not only for Kanchi, more so for Sholinghur because of Swami Doddachaaryar connection.  Swami Doddayachar was an ardent devotee of Lord Varadharaja and did many kainkaryams to Him. He was a regular in the annual Vaikasi Garuda Sevai of Devathirajar. Legend has it that on a particular year, he was not well and could not attend the Garudothsavam at Kachi. He was feeling desperate about his misfortune of not being able to have darshan of PerArulalar at Kachi on Garuda vahanam. He lamented standing near the Thakkan kulam at Cholasimhapuram (Sholinghur]. He composed hymns on Lord Varadharaja, known as Sri Devaraja Panchakam. He longed for the Lord's sevai and these outpourings were a direct result. 

In the Devaraja Panchakam, Acharyan [Doddachaaryar] sings that .’Lord Varadarajan is radiant on the back of Garudan --the son of Vinathai—and is flanked on both sides by the twin sets of white umbrellas and Kavari deer tail chamarams (fans). His sacred, lotus-soft right hand is held in abhaya mudhra pose assuring all that He will free them from all their fears. His beautiful lotus-like eyes rain anugraham on all the beholders. Adiyen salutes always that Sarva Mangala Moorthy emerging out of His aasthaanam through the western gopuram on the third day of His Vaikasi Brahmothsavam. 

Emperuman will never let his ardent bhaktha down. He came down to Sholinghur and gave darshan to Doddacharyar - seated on Garuda vahanam. Such is the mercy and leela vinotham of PerArulalar. Continuing as it does, on every  Vaikasi Garudothsavam day, there is a tradition known as Doddachaaryar Sevai, when the archakas hide Lord Varadar at the western gate for a short time with divine white umbrellas (ven thirukudai) just before He leaves the temple.  It is believed that Lord goes to Sholinghur for giving darshan to Doddacharyar. The mangala harathi takes place thereafter. 

We are proud to follow the lineage of  Doddacharyar and follow the footsteps of our Acharyan - Sri U Ve Koil Kanthadai Chandamarutham Yoga Narasimha Swami. Here is the thanian of our Varthamana Swami….

This morning at Thiruvallikkeni,  there was Thirupallandu, Thiruppalliyezuchi Thiruppavai, Thirumozhi pasuram of Singavelkunram,  & Thirukadigai;  Kovil Thiruvaimozhi, Sri Ramanuja Noorranthathi and Upadesa Rathinamalai sevakalam.  Samasrayanam was performed for some sishyas.    We were too fortunate to have Perumal theertham and Sripada theertham of our Acharyan and  darshan of ‘Thiruvaradhana Perumal – Kannan’ of our Swami.  With his kind permission, photo of Lord Krishna who gets daily pooja of our Acharyar is also posted here.  Sri KKCP Bharath @ Srinivasan swami was also present at Tiruvallikkeni.
