இளவேனிற் காலத்தில் ஒருநாள் மாலை மகேந்திர தடாகத்தின் கரை வழியாகச் சென்ற இராஜபாட்டையில் பிரயாணிகள் இருவர் காஞ்சி மாநகரை நோக்கி நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்களில் ஒருவர் ஆறடி உயரத்துக்குமேல் வளர்ந்திருந்த ஆஜானுபாகு - என துவங்கும் பிரசித்தி பெற்ற நாவலை படித்து இருப்பீர்கள் !!

அந்நாவலின்  இருபத்தாறாம் அத்தியாயம் - 'கற்கோயில்கள்' :  கடல்மல்லைத் தீவின் தென்பகுதியில் விஸ்தாரமான வெட்டவெளிப் பிரதேசத்தில் வரிசையாக ஐந்து சிறு குன்றுகள் நின்றன. அவற்றில் மூன்று குன்றுகளில் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான சிற்பிகள் வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஒவ்வொரு குன்றையும் குடைந்து கோயில் வடிவமாக அமைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஒரு கோயிலில் முன் மண்டபத்தைத் தூண்கள் வேலையாகிக் கொண்டிருந்தன. இன்னொரு கோயிலில் மேல் விமான வேலை நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. மூன்றாவது குன்றை அப்போதுதான் குடைய ஆரம்பித்திருந்தார்கள். சிற்பிகளும் பணியாட்களும் தங்குவதற்கான சிறு கொட்டகைகள் நெடுகிலும் காணப்பட்டன.

Heavy rains lashed Chennai today (2.11.2022) After the northeast monsoon hit the state on October 29, Chennai and its adjoining districts have witnessed widespread, heavy showers. Schools and colleges have been closed in 9 districts of Tamil Nadu today.  Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to continue across Tamil Nadu this week, according to the India Meteorological Department’s latest weather update.  The Tiruvallur district administration said the quantum of water to be released would be increased depending upon the inflows into the reservoirs. The authorities have urged the people living in the low laying areas on the banks to be on alert. Water level in Poondi, Cholavaram, Red Hills, Kannankottai Thervoykandigai and Chembarambakkam dams, with a combined capacity of 11,757 mcft, are fast filling up due to the north east monsoon which set in on October 29. They account for a storage of 6,986 tmcft water with a combined inflow of 3,826 cusecs. 

The widespread rains are due to monsoon.  The Northeast Indian Monsoon season is typically defined by the calendar months of October to December  when significant rainfall occurs in the southeastern part of peninsular India. In comparison to the southwest Indian summer monsoon, the northeast monsoon accounts for only about 11% of annual rainfall in India. In the provinces of Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalseema, however, the northeast monsoon contributes anywhere from 30% to 60% of the annual mean. 

பகவானின் குணங்களில் ஆழ்ந்து ஈடுபட்டவர்கள் - எம்பெருமானின் புகழ் பாடி அவரை அடைவதை தவிர வேறொன்றும் நினையாதவர்கள்  - ஆழ்வார்கள்.  ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன் மட்டுமே ஒரே உயர்ந்த  தெய்வம் என்று  எம்பெருமானிடத்திலே அடிமை செய்து இருந்தவர்கள், மயர்வற மதிநலம் அருள்பெற்ற ஆழ்வார்கள்.  இவர்களில் பொய்கை, பூதம், பேய் எனும் மூவர் முதல் ஆழ்வார்கள் என போற்றப்படுவர்கள்.  இவர்கள் சம காலத்தவர் ~ மூவரும் மதிட்கோவல்  இடைகழி என திருக்கோவலூரிலே ஒரு மழை காலத்திலே இருந்து, எம்பெருமானது பரம போக்கியதாலே அவனை போற்றி மூன்று திருவந்தாதிகளை நமக்கு அளித்தனர்.  

 ~  have you had darshan at Thirukkadanmallai (most probably you have  visited this place as a tourist); in case, you had darshan, have you travelled to this place with the prime purpose of worshipping Emperuman at this divyadesam  and the Azhwar who was born at this sthalam  ?? Sri Sthalasayana Perumal Thirukovil is at Thirukkadanmallai ~ in case the name does not ring a bell – it is the  more famous  Mahabalipuram (simply Mamallapuram) known for its great architecture.   It is at this divyadesam our Boothathazhwar was born.  Thiru avathara uthsavam of Bootath Alwar gets celebrated in the month of Aippasi (Oct-Nov) on Avittam nakshathiram day.  The temple is one of the 32 Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram that are declared as UN world heritage sites, but unlike others that are maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, the temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

நாம் எதற்கெல்லாம் பெருமை கொள்வோம் ??  ~  பட்டியல் நீளலாம்.. ..  .. தம்மைப் போல் தவம் செய்தவர் யாரும் இல்லையென்று பெருமை கொண்டவர் நம் நாயகன் .. .. பெருமானின் இணையடிகளுக்குப் பெருமை வாய்ந்த தமிழால் தொடுத்த மாலையை அணிவித்தமையால் தாம் பெருந்தமிழனான பெருமையினை உடையவன் - : "பெருந்தமிழன் நல்லேன் பெரிது" என்றும்  பெருமிதம் அடைந்தவர் இவர் .. ..  

முதலாழ்வார் மூவருள் இரண்டாம் இடம் வகிப்பவர் நம் பூதத்தாழ்வார். இவரும் தொண்டை நாட்டில் பிறந்தவரே. கடல்மல்லை ஸ்தலத்தில்,  குருக்கத்திப் பந்தலில், ஒரு குருக்கத்தி மலரில் ஐப்பசித் திங்களில் அவிட்ட நக்ஷத்திரத்திலே,  எம்பெருமானின்  கதையின் திருவம்சமமாய்  அவதரித்தவர். அவரது திருவவதார சிறப்பு நாள் இன்று  !!  (2.11.2022) 

ஞானத்தால் நன்குணர்ந்து நாரணன்றன் நாமங்கள்,

தானத்தால் மற்றவன் பேர் சாற்றினால், - வானத்து

அணியமரர்  ஆக்குவிக்கும் அஃதன்றே, நங்கள்

பூதத்தாழ்வாரின் இந்த வரிகள் ஆழ்வாரின் அனுபவத்தை நமக்கு உணர்த்த வல்லன.  மிக சாதாரணமாய் புரிந்து கொள்ள முயற்சித்தால் இப்பாசுரத்தின் அர்த்தம் இவ்வாறு ஆகுமாம் போலே  : 

எம்பெருமானுக்குப் பல்லாயிரத் திருநாமங்களுண்டு; அவற்றில், திருமேனி முதலியவற்றுக்கு வாசகமான திருநாமங்கள் என்று ஒரு வகுப்பும், விபூதி விஸ்தாரங்களுக்கு வாசகமான திருநாமங்கள் என்று மற்றொரு வகுப்பும் கொள்ளத் தக்கன.  ஸ்ரீவத்ஸவக்ஷா; புண்டரீகாக்ஷ:, பீதாம்பர:, சார்ங்கீ, சக்ரபாணி:-  இத்யாதி திருநாமங்கள் முந்தின வகுப்பைச் சேர்ந்தவை; லோகாத்யக்ஷ:, ஸுராத்யக்ஷ:, ஜகத்பதி : -  இத்யாதி திருநாமங்கள் பிந்தின வகுப்பைச் சேர்ந்தவை.  ஆக இவ்விரு வகுப்புகளையுந் திருவுள்ளம்பற்றி, முதலடியில் “நாரணன்றன் நாமங்கள்” என்றும், இரண்டாமடியில் “மற்றவன் பேர்” என்றும் அருளிச் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.  

Azhwar offers a simple solution ~ understand and know through revelations and chant the various names of Sriman Narayana,  chanting His names and worshipping  His many avatars and archavatars will secure us a place by His side in the comity of Gods in heaven. 

வடமொழியில் பூ என்பது ஓர் அடிச் சொல். அதன் அடியாகப் பிறந்ததே  பூதம் என்னும் சொல். இதற்குச் சத்து (அறிவு) என்று பொருள். எம்பெருமானின் திருக்குணங்களை அனுபவித்தே சத்தைப் பெற்றார் ஆதலால் பூதத்தாழ்வார் எனப்பட்டார் எனவும்   பூதம் என்பது இவ்வுலகிலே நிலைத்து இருக்கக் கூடிய பொருள்களைக் குறிப்பது.  அதாவது  பகவத் பக்தி, பகவத் ஞானம், பரம பக்தி என எம்பெருமானை  தவிர வேறு ஒன்றும் இல்லை எனும் வைராக்கியம். அவ்வாறு எம்பெருமானிடத்திலே, அவனது கல்யாண குணங்களில் அடிமைசெய்யப்பெற்றவராதலால் பூதத்தாழ்வார் எனப்பட்டார் எனவும் நம் ஸம்ப்ரதாய பெரியவர்கள் வாக்கு. இவரின் மறு பெயர்கள் பூதஹ்வயர் மற்றும் மல்லாபுரவராதீசர் ஆகியவை. 

ஆழ்வார் அவதாரஸ்தல மண்டபம் - திருக்கடன்மல்லை ஸ்தலசயனத்துறையவர் திருக்கோயிலுக்கு எதிரே உள்ளது.  சாற்றுமுறை அன்று பெருமாள் கைத்தல சேவை பிறகு, ஆழ்வார், அவதாரஸ்தல மண்டபத்துக்கும் - ஞானப்பிரான் சன்னதியான திருவலவெந்தைக்கும் எழுந்தருள்வது விசேஷம்.  கடந்த 2 வருஷங்கள் கொரோனா காரணாமாகவும் இந்த வருடம் பாலாலயம் எனவேயும்  திருக்கடன்மல்லையில் புறப்பாடு கிடையாது.

 Let us fall at the feet of Sri Boothath Azhwar and reach Emperuman by singing His glories and more specifically his prabandham ‘Irandam thiruvanthathi’ part of Iyarpa.  Here are some photos of Boothath Alwar and Sri Parthasarathi Emperuman taken today at  Thiruvallikkeni.    As you read in the early part, there were rains today and yesterday  .. .. Poigai Azhwar sarrumurai purappadu did not take place.  Today – it was a very brief purappadu – Perumal & Azhwar  had siriya mada veethi purappadu that was over in perhaps 10 minutes – and as they had thiruvanthikappu, there were sharp spell of showers again.

இந்த பதிவின் ஆரம்ப வரிகள் :  அமரர் கல்கி எழுதிய - சிவகாமியின் சபதம்- புதினத்தில் இருந்து.   12 வருடங்களாகக் கல்கி வார இதழில் தொடர்கதையாக வெளிவந்த இக்கதை பிறகே ஒரு புதினமாக வெளியிடப்பட்டது.  முதலாம் மகேந்திரவர்ம பல்லவன் அரசாண்ட காலத்தில் நடைபெற்ற சம்பவங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி எழுதப்பட்ட இப்புதினத்தில் இளவரசன்  முதலாம் நரசிம்ம பல்லவன்,  முக்கிய இடம் வகிக்கிறார்.  புகழ் பெற்ற பல்லவ மன்னனான மகேந்திர வர்மனுக்குப் பின்னர் அவன் மகன் நரசிம்மவர்மன் (கி.பி 630 - 668)   ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தான்.  இவரது ஆட்சி காலத்தில் பல்லவ இராச்சியம்  வடக்கில் கிருஷ்ணா ஆறு முதல் தெற்கில் மதுரை வரை பரந்து காணப்பட்டது. இவன் சிறந்த மல்யுத்த வீரனாய் திகழ்ந்ததால் மாமல்லன் என்ற பட்டம் பெற்றான். இவன் நினைவாகவே மாமல்லபுரம் என்ற துறைமுக நகரம் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டது. மாமல்லபுரத்து அற்புத சிற்பங்கள் இவர் காலத்தில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டவை.
