Aani Sadayam - Sri Peyazhwar - தேனமரும் பூமேல் திரு.

Today 29^th June 2021 is Aani Sadayam – masa thirunakshathiram of Sri Peyalwar.  At Thiruvallikkeni, we have a separate sannathi (thirukovil) and the street is so named – Peyazhwar Koil theru.  Every thirunakshathiram day, there would be moonram thiruvanthathi goshti at this place. 

Continuing divine old traditions for more than two decades now,  Sri Peyalwar from Sri Adhi Kesava Perumal Devasthanam has been visiting Thiruvallikkeni for mangalasasanam of the Divyadesa perumal. 

Ages ago -  on that beautiful rainy day at Thirukkovalur  idaikazhi – muthal azhwargal (Sri Poigaippiran, Boothathazhwar and Peyalwar)  met.  Sri Poigai Alwar and Bootathalwar, gave us thiruvanthathis  lighting with the Universe and love,  Peyalwar  had darshan of Emperuman in these lights and sang : 

திருக்கண்டேன் பொன்மேனி கண்டேன் * திகழு

மருக்கனணி நிறமுங்கண்டேன்*  செருக்கிளரும்

பொன்னாழி கண்டேன் புரிசங்கங்கைக் கண்டேன்*

என்னாழி வண்ணன்  பாலின்று** 

18^th Nov. 2014 was  Ekadasi day.  On all Ekadasis, there will be periya maada veethi purappadu of Sri Parthasarathi Swami at Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam – it was more special on that day  as Thirumylai Peyalwar had come to Thiruvallikkeni.    Peyalwar who graces the Mylai  Kesava Perumal temple –  visited Thiruvallikkeni in a grand procession.  Sri  Peyalwar had purappadu in a palanquin and nearer Triplicane [at the TP koil Street – Besant Road Junction] – the pallakku was opened enabling devotees have his darshan fully.  From there, Peyalwar  was accorded maryathai with Srisadagopam accompanied by Senai Muthaliyar – after  Chinna mada veethi purappadu entered  the Vahana mandapam, Azhwar came inside  Thirukovil in kaipalagai and did mangalasasanam in every sannathi. . 

In the evening there was grand purappadu on the occasion of Ekadasi with Azhwar and Sri Parthasarathi.  Perumal perhaps was delighted with Sri Peyazhwar accompanying him – dazzled with so many thiruvabaranams (jewels) and unforgettable hair style (kondai) embellished by peacock feather (mayil peeli) – Here is the concluding pasuram of Moondram thiruvanthathi of Sri Peyalwar.

சார்வு நமக்கென்றும் சக்கரத்தான், தண்டுழாய்த்

தார்வாழ் வரைமார்பன் தான் முயங்கும், - காரார்ந்த

வானமரும்  இன்னிமைக்கும் வண்டாமரைநெடுங்கண்,

தேனமரும் பூமேல் திரு. 

எம்பெருமானே பெரிய பிராட்டியாரே நமக்குத் தஞ்சம் என்று  ஆழ்வார் தலைக்கட்டுகிறார்.   எம்பெருமான் ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணன் - திருவாழியைக் கையிலே உடையவன்,  குளிர்ந்த திருத்துழாய் மாலை விளங்கப்பெற்ற மலைபோன்ற திருமார்ப யுடையனுமானவன்.  அத்தகைய சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த   எம்பெருமானால்  ஸம்ச்லேஷிக்கப்படுகின்றவளாய்,  மேகங்கள் செறிந்த ஆகாசத்திலே   நிலைத்து நிற்கக் கூடியதான மின்னல்போல  விளங்குகின்றவளாய்,  அழகிய தாமரைப் பூப்போன்ற நீண்ட திருக்கண்களையுடையளாய்,  தேன் நிறைந்த தாமரைப் பூவில் வஸிப்பவளான பெரிய பிராட்டியார் தான் நமக்கு எப்போதும் சரணம், என அறுதியிட்டு உரைக்கின்றார் நமது தமிழ்த்தலைவன் பேயாழ்வார்.
