'mancham' for Sri Parthasarathi Perumal dedicated by Sri Manavalamamunigal Sabhai

The ideology and purpose of a Srivaishnavaite is to do kainkaryam to the Bhagwan (Emperuman) and Bhagawathas.  We are born to serve our Master – the Lord and the best way of reaching Him is through our Acharyas who have very clearly shown us the path.

Sri Manavala Mamunigal, is the most reverred matchless Acharyar of our Srivaishnavaite philosophy, practiced by Thennacharya Srivaishnavas.  Mamunigal is known as ‘Yathindra Pravanar’ arising out of his irresistible attachment to the lotus feet of Sri Ramanujar known as ‘Yatheendrar’.  Sri  Manavala Mamunigal is the incarnation of Adisesha.   He lived for 73 years on this earth performing many Kainkaryams  at Sri Rangam and undertook many pilgrimages to many  Sri Vaishnava Divyadesams spreading knowledge and bakthi culture.   His patent style was to elucidate the pramanams fully   ‘following the words of the Purvarcharyas without deviating a wee bit’.  

Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam provides ample opportunity of doing kainkaryam, in every form- be it offering flowers, chanting divyaprabandham,  carrying the Lord on shoulders and more..... there are many Sabhas founded with the aim of carrying the kainkaryam ceaselessly – prominent among them is ‘Udayavar Kainkarya Sabha’ and ‘Sri Manavala Mamunigal Kainkarya Sabha’.

Sri Manavalamamunigal Sabhai is primarily involved in conducting the Thiruvavathara uthsavam of Acharyar in a grand manner. The Sabhai recently undertook the renovation of Sri Peyalwar sannathi which is now maintained so well.

Sri Manavalamamunigal Sabhai has now made a ‘mancham’ (the seat of rest for Perumal) ~ the beautifully made mancham is to be dedicated to Sri Parthasarathi soon ~ today, it was on display at Athangiar Thirumaligai, in South Mada Street – and a host of devotees had the pleasure of looking it in close quarters, feeling the divinity of the one soon to become property of Emperuman and which will have the honour of having Emperuman on it.
