ThiruNinravur is a beautiful
divyadesam – one can easily reach this Temple as it is well connected from
Chennai and from neighbouring Thiruvallur by bus ~ more so by train as it is on
Arakonam railway, and other than Express trains – all DMUs stop here. The temple is around 1.5 km away from the
station – bus, autos are available and one can walk the distance too.
Moolavar here is in standing posture
‘Sri Patharavi Perumal also known as PatharavipPerumal; Thayar is Ennai Perra thayar who granted
boons to Samuthira Rajan. The Emperuman at this kshetram is greatly benevolent
and grants boons satisfying the wishes of devotees. Kubera, who had lost his wealth, offered
prayers to the Goddess here and regained all his riches and hence called
Kuberapuram. This temple though under HR&CE is administered by Thirumala
Periya Jeeyar Mutt.
I had posted in detail on day 6
purappadu of the Brahmothsavam – uthsavams are for the people – those in rural
places are made attractive by the presence of people. Here are some more photos taken during the uthsavam.
