Day 6 morning : Choornabishekam

திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் சிறப்புற நடைபெறும் ப்ரம்மோத்சவத்தில் இன்று 

ஆறாம் நாள். ~சூர்ணாபிஷேகம் உத்சவம். 

Today 11^th July 2014 is the 6^th day of  Sri Azhagiya Singar Brahmothsavam at Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam. This morning after ‘Choornabishekam’, Sri Thelliya Singar had purappadu in  in ‘Golden Chapparam’.  In the purappadu,  ‘Thiruchanda Virutham’ composed by Sri Thirumazhisai Azhwaar was rendered.   These 120 songs fall under the type ‘virutha paa’ – they are replete with numbers and fall under a specialized category of tamil grammar called ‘enn adukki cheyyul’.  இதோ இங்கே திருமழிசைப் பிரானின் ஒரு பாடல் :  

வாள்களாகி நாள்கள் செல்ல நோய்மைகுன்றி மூப்பெய்தி

மாளுநாளதாதலால் வணங்கி வாழ்த்து என் நெஞ்சமே

ஆளதாகு  நன்மையென்று நன்குணர்ந்தது  அன்றியும்

மீள்விலாத போகம் நல்கவேண்டும்  மாலபாதமே. 

Death is a certainty – old age too is … still the very thought of death and nearing it due to ageing seem to threaten mankind …. As days pass by, one realizes the inevitability of illness and infirmity – the day of death hangs seemingly nearer – and instead of fearing all such things, We should offer unbounded praising of Lord – Azhwar calls his heart to realize the only salvation of surrendering to the Lotus Feet of Lord, which alone will grant us the permanent bliss – a life from this earth without ever having to return.
