Sri Parthasarathi Chithirai Brahmothsavam 2023 - Dharmathi peedam

காக்கும் இயல்வினன் கண்ண பெருமான் !!  எம்பெருமானின் அபய ஹஸ்தம்  -  ஸ்ரீமன் நாரணன் தனது  வலது திருக்கரத்தின் விரல்களை மேல் நோக்கி வைத்து  நம்மை நோக்கி   பக்தனே   "அஞ்சேல்!  -  யாமிருக்க எதற்கும் என்னை சரண் அடைந்தோர் பயப்பட வேண்டாம். அபயம் தருகிறேன் என நம்பிக்கை அளிக்கிறான்.

At Thiruvallikkeni, Sri Parthasarathi who is the embodiment of Bhagwan Sree Krishna – shows us His Abhaya Hastham (that protective hand) – worship Him and for sure every good things would happen. 

This is a belated posting !  - at Thiruvallikkeni this year (2023)  Chithirai Brahmothsavam for Sri Parthasarathi  and Aani Brahmothsavam for Sri Azhagiya Singar concluded grandly.  During brahmothsavam due to hectic schedule, could not post in detail the daily purappadus but had posted one or 2 photos daily.  Hence now wish to recollect those happy moments !  - hope you too would enjoy them with me. 

Festive days are back again !!  Brahmothsavams are happy occasions – devotees assemble in large numbers, do service to Lord in every possible manner.  The festivities were affected in  2020, when almost the entire globe remained indoors, the brahmothsavams  did not occur.    In Feb 2021 the prayaschitha Special brahmothsavam for Sri Parthasarathi Perumal occurred and in Mar 2021 Sri Azhagiya Singar Special Brahmothsavam, followed. B u t – the regular annual brahmotshavams were affected by Corona  .. .. 2023 has become normal and We pray that   Covid and dreaded diseases are  totally eradicated and humanity lives happily thereafter.  

On day 1 morning at Thiruvallikkeni,  after dwajarohanam it  would be   Dharmathi peedam purappadu;  this vahanam  was rendered in 1906 and hence exactly 120 years now !!     Being day 1 ~ it is Muthal thiruvanthathi of Sri Poigai alwar.  The Muthalazhwargal (Pogai alwar, Boothathalwar and Peyalwar) met at Thirukovalur.... Poigai azhwar started singing the greatness of the Lord by lighting the Earth itself as the light and Ocean as the ghee......

எம்பெருமானை தங்கள் மனசார அனுபவித்து ஆசையாய் தங்கள் வார்த்தைகள் உரைத்தவர்கள் ஆழ்வார்கள்.   கிருஷ்ணாவதார காலத்திலும்  அதற்கு முந்தைய த்ரிவிக்ரமாவதார காலத்திலும் எம்பெருமானுடைய திருவடித்தாமரைகளை ஏத்தியிறைஞ்சப் பெற்ற பாக்கியசாலிகள் பலரிருந்தனரன்றோ; அப்பாக்கியம் அடியேனுக்கு வாய்க்கவில்லையே! என்று   ஏங்குகிறார் நம் பொய்கைப்பிரான்.  இதோ இங்கே பொய்கையாழ்வாரின்  முதல் திருவந்தாதி பாசுரம் :

பெற்றார் தளைகழலப் பேர்ந்து  ஓர் குறளுருவாய்,

செற்றார் படி கடந்த செங்கண்மால், - நற்றாமரை

மலர்ச் சேவடியை வானவர் கை கூப்பி,

நிரைமலர் கொண்டு  ஏத்துவரால்  நின்று.

 

கண்ணபிரான் பிறப்பு முதல் கஷ்டங்களை எதிர்கொண்டவன்.  அன்றொரு நாள் மழை நாளில், மதுராவில், கம்சனது சிறையில் பிறந்தவன்.  அப்படி பிறந்த சில நாழிகைகளிலேயே, தம் தாய் தந்தையாரான ,  வஸுதேவ தேவகிகளுடைய  விலங்குகள்  அற்றுப் போம்படியாக தெறிக்க வைத்தவன்;  திருப்பாற்கடலில் நின்றும், பின்  பெயர்ந்து க்ருஷ்ணனாக வந்து பிறந்தவனும், விலக்ஷண வாமந வேஷத்தையுடையனாய், ஆச்ரித விரோதியான மாவலி தன்னதென்று நினைத்திருந்த பூமியை யாசித்து, அளந்து தன்னுடைய தாக்கிக்கொண்ட  செங்கண்மால் புண்டரீகாக்ஷனுடைய  அழகிய தாமரை போன்ற  சிவந்த திருவடிகளை இந்திராதி தேவர்கள் கைகூப்பி அஞ்ஜலி  செய்துகொண்டு நன்றாக வளர்ந்து பூத்துள்ள நறுமண  பூக்களை ஸமர்ப்பித்துக்கொண்டு பணிந்து துதிப்பர்கள்;  அந்த சிறந்த திருமால் பாதமே நம் அனைவருக்கும் போக்கியம்  !    முன்னொரு காலத்திலே அவ்வவதார  சமயங்களில் தான் பிறந்து இருந்து,  தாமும் துதிக்கப்பெறவில்லையே  என்கிற துக்கத்தைச் இப்பாசுரத்தில் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார் நம் பொய்கைப்பிரான்.

-as could be seen from the inscription – this vahanam dates back to Kali sobakruth varusham 5004 Chithirai masam – the present year is also Sobakruth – Kali 5124 – so   120 years of this vahanam since samarpanam.
