rains !! - Swami Manavala mamunigal thiruther purappadu 2023

It rained briefly yesterday evening – reminiscing a rainy day in Nov 2023 !

For Sri Vaishnavaites, ‘Acharyas’ occupy the most pre-eminent position ~ and in our Samprathayam it is ‘Swami  Manavala Maamunigal’ known by various titles as ‘Sowmya Jamathru Yogi’ ; ‘Varavara Muni’; Visada-Vak-Sikhamani;  Yathindrapravanar, Varayogi, and more is Most Reverred.  Swami Maamunigal considered to to be last of the Poorvacharyas, the early religious preceptors of Srivaishnavism, occupied the pontific seat at Srirangam after Sri Ramanuja. Varavaramuni is the reincarnation of Sri Ramanuja who was himself an incarnation of Adisesha.

सुधानिधिम्  इव स्वैर स्वीक्रुतो दग्र विग्रहम् ।

प्रसन्नार्क प्रतीकाश प्रकाश परिवेष्टितम् ॥ 

ஸுதாநிதிமிவ ஸ்வைரஸ்வீக்ருதோதக்ர விக்ரஹம்|

ப்ரஸந்நார்க்க ப்ரதீகாஶ ப்ரகாஶ பரிவேஷ்டிதம் || 

தமது இஷ்டப்படி தாம்  ஏற்றுகொண்ட மிக அழகிய திருமேனியை உடையவராய்,  திருப்பாற்கடல் போன்று வெண்மை நிறமுடையவராய் இருப்பவரும்,   மிக்க ஒளி படைத்தவர் ஆயினும், கண்கூசாமல் காணும்படியாகத்  தெளிந்தும் குளிர்ந்துமிருக்கும் கதிரவன்  என சொல்லக்கூடிய திவ்யமான  காந்தியினால் சூழப்பட்டவருமாகிய எங்கள் ஆசார்யன் ஸ்வாமி மணவாள மாமுனிகள் திருவல்லிக்கேணி திவ்யதேசத்திலே சேவை சாதிக்கும் அழகு. …

On the penultimate day of His Thiruvavathara mahothsavam, there would be thiruther purappadu in the morning and pushpa pallakku in the evening.  On 15.11.2023 (Aippaisi 23) it rained and there was no purappadu in thiruther but Mamunigal had purappadu in Kedayam, thus providing us the opportunity to have His darshan.  Here are some photos of the purappadu.
