Thiru Ayodhya, also
known as Saket is the ancient and holy city where Lord Sri Rama, the hero of
Sri Ramayana was born. Ayodhya was the capital of the ancient
Kosala Kingdom. Ayodhya is on the banks of the river Sarayu.
Valmiki is believed to have begun writing the Ramayana in Ayodhya. Its
opening chapters recount the magnificence of the city, the glories of its
monarch and the virtues, wealth and loyalty of its people. Geographically it is
in Uttar Pradesh closer to Faizabad city.
History in the form of
books, belief and public records of unimpeachable authenticity establish
indisputably that there was an ancient Temple of Maharaja Vikramaditya‘s time
at Sri Rama Janma Bhumi, Ayodhya. That temple was destroyed partly and an
attempt was made to raise a mosque thereat, by the force of arms, by Mir Baqi,
a commander of Baber‘s hordes…In 1528 Babar came to Ayodhya and halted there
for a week. He destroyed the ancient temple and on its site built a mosque,
later known as Babar‘s mosque…‖
It has a long chequered
history of almost 450 years of legal battle. Relatively recently, in
1950, a suit was instituted before the Civil Judge at Faizabad by a Hindu
worshipper, Gopal Singh Visharad seeking a declaration that according to his
religion and custom, he is entitled to offer prayers at the main Janmabhumi
temple near the idols. This was not a
simple case - wealth of material emerged before the court during the course of
the trial. The judgment of Justice Sudhir Agarwal in the High Court copiously
tabulates the documentary exhibits of the parties during the course of trial
comprising of 533 exhibits categorized as : (i) Religious texts;
(ii) Travelogues; (iii) Gazetteers; (iv) Translations of inscriptions on
pillars; (v) Reports of Archaeological excavation; (vi) Photographs prior to
demolition; and (vii) Details of artefacts found at the disputed site.
On 9th Nov
2019, came a happy ending for all and more specially for the devouts in the
Ayodhya case by the Supreme Court of India. The Apex Court ordered
the disputed land (2.77 acres) to be handed over to a trust (to be created by
Government of India) to build the Ram Janmabhoomi (reverred as the birthplace
of Hindu deity, Ram) temple. The court also ordered the government to give an
alternate 5 acres of land in another place to the Sunni Waqf Board for the
purpose of building a mosque.
~ one might have noticed a flurry of tweets and misleading info
on social media, especially by Commies including local loosus – why are they
becoming suddenly interested in a temple for Lord Sri Rama – what irks them –
and why this orchestrated campaign by Commies ?
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the Chairman of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi
Theertha Kshetra Trust, on Monday visited Ram Lalla, the infant Lord Ram, as he
is worshipped at his birthplace Ayodhya, after 28 years and performed pooja at
the holy site in Ayodhya. He took stock of the situation for the construction
of Ram temple at Ayodhya after the initial levelling work was completed. According
to the reports, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, after visiting the Ram Lalla on
Monday, later visited the temple site and inspected the levelling work going on
there. “The temple work has already started and this is a land of purity and
devotion,” he said that he did not visit the temple after the demolition as he
could not bear to see Lord Ram living in the open.
Last year, the long-awaited Supreme Court verdict had finally
ended the decades-long battle and has entitled Hindus to build a temple for Ram
Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi site that had been defiled centuries ago by
Islamic invaders. After the establishment of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha
Kshetra Trust, the construction of a grand Ram temple has finally been started.
Meantime our neighbor who is unable to control Corona or govern
people, made some unwarranted comments on building of Shree Ram Temple in
Ayodhya. India on Thursday responded sharply to the Imran Khan government
condemning resumption of construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya earlier this
month, describing a one-page statement put out by Pakistan’s foreign office as
“absurd”. The external affairs ministry also underscored that the Indian
constitution, unlike the one that Islamabad had, guarantees equal rights to all
faiths. “Pakistan’s Foreign Office may take time out and read their own
constitution to realize the difference,” the external affairs ministry
spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said. Srivastava also took a swipe at the
treatment of religious minorities by Pakistan and a decline in their numbers
over the years. “Given its record, Pakistan should be embarrassed to even
mention minorities. After all, numbers don’t lie even if they do,” he said. The
Pakistan foreign office had on Wednesday condemned the start of work on the Ram
Mandir, describing it as part of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP)
efforts to advance a “Hindutva agenda”. It also claimed that the Indian Supreme
Court’s ruling last year had “failed to uphold the demands of justice” and its
verdict had shredded the “veneer of so-called secularism” in India..
The foreign office statement is part of the continuing effort by
Prime Minister Imran Khan to build a narrative, specially aimed at Gulf
countries, that minorities in India weren’t safe. Over the last few months,
Indian security agencies have identified thousands of handles based in Pakistan
that had been trying to push this line on social media. One report submitted to
the government last month had sent across a list of 7,000 such handles. These
handles, like the government in Pakistan and PM Imran Khan, had exaggerated
isolated instances of harassment of minorities during the Covid-19 pandemic to
launch a shrill campaign that was aimed at influencing India’s relations with
the Gulf countries.
Islamabad’s condemnation attempt to attack the Supreme Court’s 9
November verdict that led to setting up of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath
Kshetra Trust, the external affairs spokesperson suggested that Islamabad
clearly was not familiar with a credible judiciary. “As
for the judiciary, Pakistan must realize that theirs is thankfully not the
norm. There are others elsewhere with credibility and integrity that Pakistan
understandably finds difficult to recognise,” Srivastava said.
Construction work for the Ram temple began at the Ram
Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya from May 11 after the Centre permitted the construction
industry to resume work on projects. Since then, engineers have carried out
testing of the soil around the sanctum-sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi. A trust official had said a five-foot long
rare Shivling besides a large number of statues of god and goddesses had been
recovered from the site. However, even after decades of relentless efforts to
stall the court case and keep Hindus away from their claim at the Ram
Janmabhoomi site, leftists are still trying to weave new narratives.
CPIM leader Subhashini Ali took to Twitter to share an article by the Economic
Times captioning her tweet as “New twist: Supreme Court accepts Buddhist claim
in Ayodhya dispute”, insinuating that the Ram Mandir matter has once again been
caught in some legal dispute. During the
excavation carried out for the construction works for the temple in the Ram
Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, the remains of Hindu stone sculptures, including a
Shivling, broken-idols of Hindu deities, and carved pillars of Indic design
were found near the site on Wednesday.
According to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, as the work
for levelling of land and removal of the gangway in Shri Ramjanmabhumi Complex
was resumed on Wednesday after the coronavirus lockdown, the workers at the
site unearthed the remains of pillars adorned with old Hindu carvings, likely
of a temple during the excavation. The objects included various archaeological
artefacts and stone pillars with carvings of flowers, Kalash, Aamalak, etc,
said Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust. During the excavation, a 5 feet
Shivaling, 7 carved pillars of Black touchstone, 6 carved pillars of red
sandstone and broken idols of Hindu gods were also found. The trust said that
the work is still continuing at a slow pace due to the restrictions.
The findings had vindicated the presence of Hindu temples
beneath the overground structures, which was a bone of contention for decades
and was later resolved by the Supreme Court of the country. The earlier ASI
findings had stated that there were remains of an ancient temple beneath the site
where the Babri Masjid was erected. In fact, the excavations done on Wednesday
as part of a ground-levelling carried out by Ram Janmabhoomi trust as
preparation for the construction of Ram temple itself. The recent work,
however, however, is no part of an official excavation carried out by the
Archaeological Survey of India.
With remains of temples, a Shivalinga and pillars are being
found at the site, there have been growing demands across the spectrum to begin
new scientific excavations not only at Ayodhya but also at various other places
including Kashi and Mathura to unearth the truth behind the presence of Hindu
temples beneath the over-laying Islamic structures. The
discovery of remains of Hindu stone sculptures like a Shivling, broken-idols of
Hindu deities, and carved pillars at the construction site of Ram Mandir at
Ayodhya, has now caused massive heartburn to leftist sand Naxal sympathisers,
who are now casting doubts over the recent excavations while attempting to
downplay the historical importance attached to the recent findings. A day
after various remains of a temple was unearthed from Ram Mandir site at
Ayodhya, a known Naxal sympathiser, took
to Twitter to peddle a new narrative to discredit the findings at the Ram
Janmabhoomi site. According to the person who is related to magazine Wire, the excavations carried out under the site was
bound to have low evidentiary value as there were no details regarding the
strata at where the idols were found. There
was tweet to this effect by another local commie leader – neither the person
nor the party has any followers – yet tries to defame all the time.
Falling for similar propaganda, self-proclaimed experts and
leftists joined in propagating a new narrative against the
construction of Ram Mandir by undermining the new archaeological findings at
the historic site. Another small time
self-proclaimed journalist claimed that
there was a huge difference between an actual excavation and an excavation for
a foundation to state that earthmovers were used to clear rubble after the
demolition of Babri Masjid and 14 other temples, thus implying that the new
findings had very little archaeological use.
The simple Q is what is the worry of the construction of the glorious
mandir at His janmasthan – you remain secular and keep to yourself. It is a matter of faith and the Hindu
devotees will take care of the Mandir. We
do not want your opinions at all.
Longing to go to Ayodhya and have darshan of Lord Rama in His
birth place.
Jai Sree Ram.
