Irapathu uthsavam day 5 (2020) -  @ Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam

 உலப்பிலானே எல்லாவுலகும் உடைய ஒரு மூர்த்தி

On day 5 of Irapathu uthsavam at Thiruvallikkeni,  for Sri Parthasarathi Perumal,  it was Pandian Kondai and Sengol ; muthukondai for Swami Nammazhvar ~ and what a darshan it was.

Swami Nammalwar’s deep rooted devotion gets revealed in his ornate description of the great Kalayana gunas of Emperuman.  In decad 5 – Thiruvaimozhi 8 – he laments to have only Emperuman as the focus and nothing else.  Here are a couple of great expressions in describing the greatness of Lord :

உலப்பிலானே  எல்லாவுலகும் உடைய ஒரு  மூர்த்தி

உலப்பிலானே  : குணவிபூதிகளினுடைய கணனைக்கு   (பரிமாணம் – dimension) முடிவில்லாமல் இருக்குமவனே! என்றபடி. மூர்த்தி  :  என்று திவ்யமங்கள விக்ரஹத்துக்கும் பெயர், ஐச்வர்யத்துக்கும் பெயர்; வடிவழகைக் காட்டி. எல்லாப் பிராணிகளையும் ஈடுபடுத்திக்கொள்ள வல்லவனே! என்றும், ஸகல லோகங்களுக்கும் நிர்வாஹகனான ஸர்வேச்வரனே! என்றும் பொருள்படும்.

Irapathu Uthsavam is celebrated in Divyadesams and today is day 5.  Those who have darshan of Sri Parthasarathi yearn more – everyday,  He looks fresh and more radiant shining with the apt sarruppadi of battars.  Today it was Pandian Kondai and Sengol [the kireedam known as Pandian kondai as it replicates the one worn by Lord NamPerumal rendered to him by a Pandian King known as Sundara Pandian and the scepter worthy of an Emperor].  Swami Nammalwar too had dazzling kondai alike our Emperuman.

செலக் காண்கிற்பார் காணும் அளவும் செல்லும் கீர்த்தியாய்!

உலப்பிலானே எல்லாவுலகும் உடைய ஒருமூர்த்தி!

நலத்தால் மிக்கார் குடந்தைக் கிடந்தாய்! உன்னைக் காண்பான் நான்

அலப்பாய், ஆகாசத்தை நோக்கி அழுவன் தொழுவனே. 

Swami Nammalwar adores the glory of Lord that exceeds the grasp of highly learned and yet continue to be learning Seers.  The Infiniteness of the Lord’s frame contains all the Worlds.  Azhwar addresses the Lord of Thirukudanthai reclining on Adisesha, surrounded by most wise Nithyasuris.  Azhwar says, in his desire of seeing the eternal Parampurush Purushothaman, he looks at the sky, disturbed, laments, cries and keeps praying for His darshan. 

Ordinary mortals like us, by following the guidelines of Azhwar and Acharyars, we too can desire of the Lord and in the streets of Triplicane, Lord in all His benevolence and glory came around to bless us all.
