 Sri Ramanujar Uthsavam day 3 Morning purappadu ~ 2018

 Today 14^th Apr 2018 is born the Tamil New Year of ‘Vilambi’  ~ and today is day 3 of the ongoing  Avathara mahothsavam of Swami Ramanujar.  In the morning Sri Ramanujar had purappadu in pallakku and in the evening – purappadu with Sri Parthasarathi Perumal ~ an unique occasion, for even on Sarrumurai day, it is Acaryar alone.

Udayavar was the incarnation of Adisesha, born with divine blessing of Triplicane, born in Sriperumpudur, learnt at Thirukachi, served Namperumal at Thiruvarangam and did great service at Thirumala too.  On entourage, he stayed at Melukote, Thirunarayanapuram travelled all the way to Kachmeeram, going to very many places.  When he first visited Thirumala Thirupathi, he was unwilling to tread on the holy Thirumala hills, known to be the body of Adisesha and kneeled all the way.  While he paused at Mokali mitta (literally knee-breaker: முழங்கால் முறிச்சான்) -   Sri Tirumalai Nambi and Ananthazhwar, reached out to him.  It is at Thirumala, his first work   "Vedanta Sangraha" was made. 

As Thiruvarangathu Amuthanar ordained – for those of us initiated to Sri Ramanuja’s treatise,  we will not think of anybody else than the holy saint Swami Ramanujar.

கோக்குல மன்னரை மூவெழுகால், ஒரு கூர்மழுவால்

போக்கிய தேவனைப் போற்றும் புனிதன் புவனமெங்கும்

ஆக்கிய கீர்த்தி   இராமானுசனை அடைந்தபின், என்

வாக்குரையாது, என் மனம்    நினையாது இனி மற்றொன்றையே.

முன்னாளில், பாரை ஆண்ட பல்வேறு க்ஷத்திரிய குலத்து அரசர்களை, கூர்மை பொருந்திய ஒரு மழுவாலே வென்றவ தேவன் பரசுராமன்.   அந்த சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனை  மட்டுமே எப்போதும் துதிக்கும் புனிதனான , எட்டுத்திசையும் எல்லா உலகும் பரவின புகழினை உடைய ஸ்ரீ இராமாநுசனை அடைந்த பின்,  இனி வரும் காலமெல்லாம், வேறு எந்த விஷயத்தையும் எனது வாக்கானது சொல்லமாட்டாது; எனது மனமும் எம்பெருமானாரை தவிர மற்று எவறையும்  நினைக்காது என்கிறார் திருவரங்கத்து அமுதனார்.
