At Thiruvallikkeni Divyadesam there are daily, monthly,
yearly uthsavams. Most of them occur on specific nakshathiram. Then there
is - ‘Eekkadu Thangal Thiruvural
Uthsavam’ – which has no connection with any nakshathiram.
Eekkadu Thangal near Guindy is an area known for its
industries and it lies on the bank of Adyar river. Every year, Sri
Parthasarathi visits this place. This Uthsavam is held on a Sunday in the
tamil month of Maasi, when there are no other special uthsavams.
Sri Parthasarathi Swami starts from His temple in the early hours of today at
around 0100 am and after ‘mandakapadis’ at various places visits Eekkadu
Thangal.
A few days back – on the roadside shop at Pycrofts Road
[Bharathi Salai] saw this rare gem the cover of which attracted me – written in Telugu, it was totally pest ridden and brittle – not a
single page could be touched, yet could manage to take a photo of the cover
with mobile camera.
A rare treasure published somewhere in 1956 !
- now a days this occurs mostly in Jan and sometimes in Feb - that year it was in April !
- Perumal has purappadu in Pallakku ~ this photo in Dharmathipeedam !!
Adiyen Srinivasadhasan.
