fishes at holy Kalyani Pushkarini - Melukote Thirunarayanapuram

The land associated with Yathiraja Raja Swami Ramanujar, Melukote, (Yadavagiri / Thirunarayanapuram) is a mystic place.  It is a beautiful Temple town and a hill station.  It is the abode of victory (vijayasthana) of Ramanujacharya. 

Any visit to the holy town is not complete without bathing in the holy Kalyani pushkarini that is ornate with mantaps, Sri Varahar sannathi and more. From the pond leads the way to the top of hill of Lord Narasimha.  The divine Kalyani pushkarini is ‘Kshirasagara kunda’ as mentioned in Matsyapurana. 

In his Perumal Thirumozhi, Kulasekara Azhwar enlists his wishes to be something in the Holy Thirumala – he says he is not after any material thing, not any riches, not even the ride on mighty elephants as Emperor but cherishes the Thiruvenkata malai and wishes to be something there, doing some kainkaryam and being in a position to have His darshan always. 

A similar analogy to the fishes of Kalyani pushkarini at Melukote Thirunarayanapuram. 

குலசேகராழ்வார் பரம பக்தர்.  தமது பெருமாள் திருமொழி - 4ம் திருமொழி பாசுரங்களில், திருவேங்கட மலையில் ஏதேனுமாக பிறத்தலை அவாவுகிறார்.    அழகிய திருமலையிலே ஏதாயினும் இருக்கும்படியான பாக்கியம் கிடைத்தால் யானையின் மீது அமர்வது கூட வேண்டாம் என்கிறார்.  ஒரு பறவையாக, மீனாக, மலராக, படியாக,  ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன் வாழும்  அழகிய திருமலையிலே தம்பகமாய் (புதராய்- ஒன்றுக்கும் பயன்படாது அங்கங்கே முளைத்துத் தீய்ந்துபோகும் தாவரவகையாகவேனும் )  நிற்கும்படியான  பாக்கியத்தை   உடையவனாகக்கடவேன் ~ என்பது குலசேகரர் வாக்கு !!  

ஆனாத செல்வத்து அரம்பையர்கள் தற்சூழ

வானாளும் செல்வமும் மண்ணரசும் யான்வேண்டேன்

தேனார்  பூஞ்சோலைத்  திருவேங்கடச் சுனையில்

மீனாய்ப் பிறக்கும் விதியுடையேனாவேனே 

                                                                              இந்திரன் முதலிய தேவாதி தேவர்களின் பதவிகளும் இவ்வுலகத்து அரசாட்சியுமாகிய இரண்டு ஒருங்கு கிடைத்தாலும், மிகமிக அழகான தேவதைகள் சூழ உள்ளமும் செல்வமும், அரசும் கூட  வேண்டா என்று விலக்குகின்றார்.  முதல் பாசுரத்தில் ” குருகாய்ப் பிறப்பேனே ” என்றவர், அதற்கு இறகுகள் இருப்பதால் அது அத்திருமலையைவிட்டுப் பறந்து வேற்றிடத்திற்குச் சென்றிடக்கூடுமெனக் கருதி, அங்ஙனமன்றி அத்திருமலையிலேயே பிறப்பு வாழ்ச்சி இறப்புகளையுடைய மீனாய்ப் பிறப்பேனாகவென்று இப்பாட்டில் வேண்டுகின்றார்.  

 

ஆழ்வார் அருஞ்சொற்கள் போன்றே - செல்வநாரணனான ஸ்ரீ சம்பத்குமாரர் திருக்கோவில் கொண்டுள்ள திருநாராயணபுரத்தில், கல்யாணி புஷ்கரிணியில் உள்ள இந்த மீன்கள் கூட புண்ணியம் பண்ணினைவையே !!  :  https://youtu.be/Z-d31vcki-k
